    Austal should be able to sell a few of these into an expanding market with Chinese fishing trawlers so active around the world taking fish from other country's waters.

    wow, great boat to reconvert into a yatch, without all the super expensive military equipment and with electric engines this ship would worth a 1/10 the price

    The economic situation which Trinidad and Tobago finds itself in demands at least five more vessels like this. This country needs to secure its borders from illegal entry and illegal activities. Trinidad and Tobago needs to secure its resources for its citizens ONLY and not for the citizens of countries which do not take care of their citizens properly. Nuff said.

    • @ErrolSinghtriniwood
      @ErrolSinghtriniwood 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A request from the US to help secure the border will not only save all this wasteful millions of US dollars that T&T desperately need but will be more effective but Tief Rowlie friend Maduro will vex with Rowlie for that and the PNM much needed guns and drugs will not be able to pass and you cannot bribe the US navy.

      I believe those were even better, they also had a helipad to facilitate a helicopter and bigger guns on board. brazil is enjoying them now.

    • @robman2095
      @robman2095 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anthonyblackman7669 Austal were fairly recently discussing an order for 6 extended 80m Cape Class boats with a helipad on the back for the Phillipines I believe but I don't know if they were ordered. More expensive no doubt and maybe T&T didn't need it anymore or didn't want to wait until it could be developed.

    The video nice even birds and a dolphin come to see, is this the first time that the cape class has not been painted in the blue and white?

    • @robman2095
      @robman2095 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think so. The Australian navy operates a couple, but they are also blue and white for some reason instead of the standard grey (just determined by googling photos on delivery), but without the red stripes that Border Force have on theirs. They are building another six for the navy but if the first two were blue and white probably the rest will be too I guess. But the previous generation Armidale patrol boats are all grey so anything is possible.

      It those look nice, but I'm not seeing any place for armament that the tt coast guard vessel usually have,a 20mm navy gun, the prime minister had a problem when the last government had purchased the Chinese vessel with out any armament at that time,

    • @TrinispaceTT
      @TrinispaceTT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@josephwebster9546 the armament will be installed during its fit out phase and before sea trials. The Chinese vessel was a waste because i don't see it purpose without armament.

    • @josephwebster9546
      @josephwebster9546 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The reason for asking is with the Austal promotional video for the six 30m boat you could see a platform for a weapon on the deck,same thing with the Daman vessel in the video before the weapon was installed there was a platform on the deck, but you're not seeing it on the deck of this vessel.

    • @TrinispaceTT
      @TrinispaceTT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@josephwebster9546 weapons could also be installed on either side or stern of a naval vessel as well. There would be armament, I look it up. The Cape Class Patrol boats come with a few .50 caliber machine guns on the deck.

    No helideck.No hanger. No good for RNZN, surprised this is what RAN chose to replace its armidales🙄
    We in Nz sold ours because they are too small , and avoided these ships here as our future additional OPV must have permanent onboard helo capacity.
