My father got me into Goju-ryu after my interest in Boxing coming from a greco-Roman wrestling background. This is actual Karate. No magic punches, just raw, brutal physical conditioning. To have a body of steel, first iron must be tempered!
I’ll never forget when a guy slapped the back of my head at a bar, I just turned, quite confused and asked him why he hit me, so hard. The blow was made with considerable force. He quickly left and apologized as I was asking the question again! Ha!
    Sanchin, conditioning! Do it!
    Greetings from the USA! 🙏🏻

BRILLIANT.....we had a very hard time in my school, a very small (Tomari-te) group that trained at our teacher's apartment, learning how to maintain the tension, thank you very much for posting this. I have enjoyed your channel quite a bit.

The short intro of punching is a demonstration of skill. It's quite good. I have been working on my Seiken for a decade now. But my knuckles are not as well conditioned as this well accomplished master. One day...maybe.

Please forgive me if I appear ignorant or arrogant with my wording but, I have a question. Can Master Ippei Yagi tell the conditioning of his student's when he would strike them during the tightening of the Sanchin? I imagine there's probably a lot more to it than that though. He's on a whole different level Mentally, Spiritually and Physically. I have nothing but the utmost respect for every Teacher helping to make society better by showing the right and wrong way too go about things. Staying true to oneself is very Important.

I have a question for anyone currently training in Uechi Ryu.. As a kid/teen MANY years ago lol..My instructor trained San chin with the stomach pushed out like a basketball. With the explanation that by pushing the stomach out it was like punching a ball vs a board.. I mean you could tag him in the gut and your hand literally bounced back.. Is this still a method? Because all the San chin stuff I see now is with abs tightened and not the pregnant belly look like I saw so many years ago?
It always baffled me how the more advanced students could take hits in this manner but my memory is from almost 30 years ago so I'm very interested if anyone else has ever heard of this?❤️

Many Okinawan karate master tend to show not the true arts to public, it's real but not the true one, yes it can be used but not the ultimate one, master will only show the true one to his pupils only

This doesn't make sense to hold my breathing on consecutive continuous strikes this guy must be a mollusc 😂

If you get hit by this guy, you’ll be a vegetable. This is not a joke. Next time you throw a right cross, exhale in tension as you strike: you’ll be likely humbled by your own power. 🙏🏻

      Body conditioning against strikes
And to amplify striking through breath and muscular contraction/tension. This is a principle of externalized “chi”. Short inhalation long exhalation.
Slow practice trains and conditions practitioners to be ready to absorb a heavy blow or to deliver powerful explosive strikes in combat.
