Well, the wipes I use for my dog’s teeth are in a super similar container: a very rigid plastic set of triangles surrounding a small opening that you can press items into, but cuts into an item and bites down if you pull it out. It’s a good design that’s meant to make pulling out a single wipe rather than the whole thing easy, but the issue arises when you get distracted and accidentally slip a good sized portion of your finger in trying to grab a new wipe. I did this and tried to pull up, only for that biting mechanism to dig in deeper and deeper. I was really beginning to freak out because it hurt a lot and I was trapped in it, but then I remembered this video and the methods you outlined for her to get out, and they worked! Here's my ideas: Toxic gas: Apart from breaking through wall/window and simply leaving, they could tear their clothes and make makeshift masks to filter some of the toxic particles. They could also cover the ventillation shafts with said clothes, preventing the gas from entering the room. The furnace: Other than blocking the entrance with anything to prevent it from shutting, the guy could remove his clothes and unfold them on the floor, killing the flames (no oxygen = no fire) or at least slow them down. The needle pitt: Unfold the blankets on top of the needles, stack them so the layer is thick, then slowly descend into the pitt, standing on said blankets and start digging through using stick, bar, or cloth-covered hand to find the key. The box with antidote: After she put both hands in the holes, why didn't she simply asked the other dude to push the blades with his hands so she can remove hers? Teamwork is a key.
The last one wouldn't work, the video omits the part where Xavier finds out everyone has a number written back in their necks, which is part of the code for the safe with the antidotes. So for some reason he decides the best he could do is murder everyone just to get those codes (Instead of actually comunicating and cooperating, which would be easier) and he basically goes full psycho for the rest of the film. By the time he reaches Addison (The girl stuck in the box trap), she actually begs him for help but he just looks for her number and then leaves her to die, although his original plan was probably killing her, so either way you couldn't count on that guy helping you at all. The smartest thing she could do is leave the other hand out. For some reason even when she clearly spilled the antidote and had no actual reason to keep reaching inside the box, she still stuck her other hand in, instead of actually trying to free her arm like the video explains at 11:17 . So basically, the actual problem here is the stupidity of almost everyone in this film.
Another solution to the furnace one: Just use the syringe. Once you see it's part of the mechanism, just don't pull it off, inject yourself, and leave without setting it off.
Im so glad you mentioned knocking holes in the walls. when im watching movies or hear stories of people trapped in above ground houses/rooms/walls, etc I always think to myself, if its not brick or concrete, its really not hard to knock holes in a wall
the needle pit doesnt bother me anymore cause I watched a video on how it was made, no matter what though any form of gore that involves the wrist like that makes me cringe.
God I think we were all screaming at the girl when she stuck her hand in the box, when I first watched this series a couple years ago I was like "omg shes actually the dumbest person I've seen"
to be fair, she was under the influence of breathing in about an hour and a halfs worth of powerful toxic gas. of course her thinking would be furthur compromised even if she wasnt the sharpest tool in the shed
Imagine if jigsaw kidnapped an intelligent person, but he didn't speak the same language as the others who were kidnapped, That would be amazing and funny
@@waragon4737 that's actually an amazing idea for a movie. Someone in a saw-like trap who actually is able to think their way out of it and turn it back on the attacker. Kinda like the movie hush (an amazing movie btw) but with jigsaw instead of the crossbow guy
jigsaw is so fucking bad at choosing people?? like some of the reasons: literally being married to a shit dude, being in an abusive relationship, being suicidal, being a sex worker, and being the son of a cop??? like i don’t get how people try to defend him, he brutally forced people to mutilate themselves and kill others, for the shittiest reasons on the planet.
Me: damn, i think I tried my best on this painting and i want to show this to my friends to see if they like it! Jigsaw: *YOU ARE NARCISSISTIC AND SELFISH*
Well they’re in a state of panic and hindsight is 20/20 to be fair. That said my first thought was to just bust down the walls too. Eventually you’ll find a portion of unprotected wall. No way in hell the guy had construction workers or anyone set up sheet metal around the entire circumference of the entire house. Glad he added that part in the end 🙏🏼
You know, I just thought of something. It's unlikely that you'd die instantly from the Venus flytrap. The skull is extremely thick, and I doubt some dirty nails could pierce the hard bone. Of course it would still pierce every part of your face, but blood still wouldn't gush out of your face like it does in the film as there aren't any large blood vessels in your facial region. The back of the skull would also likely not get pierced, unless the mechanism can apply a crazy amount of torque, which judging by the small size of the gear mechanism, I doubt is the case. Side note: I propose a second solution to this trap. The nails appear to be rusty and dirty, so they are likely fragile. Without triggering the trap, you could gradually break or bend every nail so they each are short enough that your head could fit, if the pipes or cinder block fail to stop it from shutting. Then you just walk out with a giant hunk of metal for a head to the nearest police station or hospital lol
Honestly probably just having your arms in the way of it when it shuts would be enough to stop it. I doubt the contraption would have enough forced to cut right through your arm and your skull
You're probably right but these movies have you suspend some disbelief. So it stands that the Venus Fly Trap has another hydraulics or power to pierce. I mean Jill gets the reverse bear trap used on her. They show it completely ripping not just her upper half but lower half off when it would likely just rip out the teeth and accompanying gums nearby. Again, suspension of disbelief.

For all its horror, the syringe trap has to be the most horrifying one in the series. Every needle there has been used so the moment she was thrown in there, she got several diseases including HIV.
There's one thing Jigsaw didn't take into account when planning the detective's trap: if you put somebody's kid in danger, the parents are not going to stop and chat with you. They're gonna do whatever the heck it takes to save their kid.
I feel like my main issue with most of these movies is that most of the people who get put in the traps aren't that bad. The only one I was actually satisfied with dying was Xavier. He was put in there because he was just a drug dealer, but everyone hated him because he was a stupid, impulsive douchebag. Almost everyone else didn't really deserve to die for their minor offenses (the guy who just skipped work).
I haven't actually watched the movies (my torture porn days are far behind me), but my guess is that that's what makes the movies scary. Everybody has made some transgression in their life, even if minor, so even the most pious viewer has to consider themselves a potential victim within the Saw universe.
thats the whole point. anyone who isnt jesus himself could be in one of those traps. it makes the whole concept even creepier, because regular people watching at home could be thrown in those situations, not just "evil people". it also makes you way more likely to root for the protagonists, because you know they don't deserve to die at all
These are really good points. We wouldn't really care if they died if they were all rapists and murderers. I didn't think about how the point of Jigsaw's character is that he has his own sick sense of "justice". He feels like he's doing the world a service by testing these people to see if they have the sheer willpower to be worthy of life.
Kimani Robinson In the Jigsaw movie the people actually did bad things. I can only remember two of the characters, one of which sold a broken motorbike to the nephew of Jigsaw causing him to die in a car crash, and the other character couldn’t sleep with her baby crying so she snapped it’s neck and placed it under her boyfriend causing him to go to jail for being a danger to his child.
Me: spills a bit of water on my shirt Jigsaw: I'm going to trap you in a room full of explosives and you have 30 seconds to find a key hidden in a 6 ton pile of hay, the catch is that both of your hands are tied around your back
Me: **misspells Jigsaw’s real name** Jigsaw: you have to find a key in this pit of acid. There are 17 keys but only 1 works. The keys will dissolve if you take too long and you will be trapped forever.
The fire trap could also be easily defeated by just assuming that pulling the chain is going to hurt you and lifting an arm to inject it while it's hanging. You can then take the other one out and now you have 2 people already done in the first room.
"Only the devil can help out" and next to the valve was a devil drawing. All he had to do was quickly turn the valve off. I love how jigsaw literally tells his victims how to beat the trap. They just don't listen.
If I look at a needle I get anxiety (I have a terrible phobia of needles, and knocked my doctor out when he tried giving me a shot) I’d just bang my head in a wall until I died tbh 😂
I always wondered why they didn't try to smash through the walls. It's not like John could do much to reinforce them without having to renovate the whole house
The whole thing is a test on whether you'll listen to your instincts, or figure out the riddle. Most are so freaked out by the fact they were caught for their crimes/sins by a man who seemingly knows all about them, on top of their life being on the line. John's tapes give them the answers, and that's the first test, listening to what it's saying. Almost everything else depends on it.
Basically. I remember reading comments back when the movies were still being released saying stuff like "he's helping them" or "he's actually not the bad guy" or "he has his reasons and he's fair". So ridiculous.
3:54 If you look down a barrel through a peephole like that, it will mostly likely only be black or at least obfuscated. You'd probably be able to see something is in front of it, but to recognize it as a barrel is hard.
so sliding your hands in wouldnt hurt. its only when you pull back that you would notice. Kind of like the finger traps. You can get in easy but not out. Also she's delirious from the gas in the house. So there's that.
@@ah7027 pulling your hands out is a direct consequence of putting your hands in, and since your only alternative is staying still forever from which you'd also die, yes, putting your hands into this box is the dangerous part.
I love this entire movie series, but that scene of Amanda in the needles is the one part I have to look away from when she goes into the frantic digging mode. But this take on showing how the traps are almost meant to be beaten helps strengthen John Kramer's mission to help people appreciate life by having to go through the tests.
This is a great series man. I feel like if they were to “cheat” the games like you suggest, that they would be re-tested by Jigsaw, because he gets upset when people don’t play by the rules
@@LP-fj6sr like seriously the needle test was hella fucking dumb simply stack up on wearing clothes wrap your body up and proceed it would take seconds if u rush it but still would be effective im probably talking as if i would think straight when im sure i would freak out but honestly i would be too grossed out to not wear thick clothing to do it
i think the idea is that if you escaped the puzzles without a bunch of major injuries, you would be able to eventually come face to face with jigsaw or one of his henchmen without a huge power imbalance set in place by one of the traps. After that, you might be able to overpower them depending on your surroundings. Thats only if theyre in the same place as you and you end up encountering them during your mad dash towards anything that resembles an exit, though.
I mean he puts people in trap because they couldn't cope with the death of their son or because they want to save people too much so...yeah it doesn't seem too stupid for Jigsaw
@@DD-tv5ze I don't think so. I think that's another woman. In all the movies, i don't even think John Cramer has a was a wife, let alone have time for her since he died in "Saw 3". An what will be his wife's reaction if she found out he's the jigsaw killer
I like how this guy just assumes he'd be all calm and relaxed to think clearly as opposed to being in unbearable fear and panic, acting just on impulse and survival instincts. When you're in fear your life and it's threatened by a time limit short or small calm and relaxed to think clearly is the last and hardest thing you'd be able to do.
Even if the characters are meant to be idiots, it's not the same to solve those puzzles under pressure, pain and stress, and solve them with a calm mind.
I argue they should’ve kept calm since they WERE in the presence of a Jigsaw game survivor, meaning that you follow the rules, you WILL survive. Don’t feel confident bout that? TALK TO AMANDA SHES RIGHT THERE!!!
Pressure and stress doesn't make you throw away all logic and awareness like some people seem to think. You would become hyper aware of what you are doing and have survival instincts not be a panicking mess that makes every mistake and wanders into death because of stress.
Yes. I know dude who passed practical exam which many students fail by snapping himself out of exam situation into thinking about it as just another time doing same thing when training which broke his problem with felling of blank mind. If we should believe him, b4 it he was 100% blocked by being at exam who many fails to the point he couldn't remind himself most basic stuff. Despite nobody tired to kill him.
John isn't dead-looking in Matthews' car to me, if you look closely he slowly starts to smile, very creepy but always a memorable moment to me (already intense and memorable by design for the entire ending of course, this was the cherry on top, Jigsaw knowing he was right about Eric)
Yes john is a man of his word but obviously people dont know that, ofc the dad is not gonna sit and talk while his son is dying in there (thats all he knows)
yeah i know... that's why i didn't include that as a "method to beat the game"... it's just what was said in the movie. (but it was kind of weird for john to design the game like that because like you said: of course hes not just going to sit there)
HitStart I mean I’m pretty sure that’s the entire point of Johns traps, they’re all completely beatable and in many cases bearable with limited harm had the victim just followed instructions and listened, however like most people who have been kidnapped by a serial killer they aren’t exactly thrilled in that situation and end up acting irrational and panicky, this leading to their death (or the death of others).
In the movie, John says something along the lines of "the human mind doesn't take risks". Which means the whole point was that he knew his victims would act the way they did, which is why he gave them the tapes that explained to them why they are there and literally tells them how to win if only they listened. The traps are built around two things: the victim's reason for being there, and their will to live, which means doing anything they can, be it listen to their primal instincts (which most do) or maintain their humanity and play it smart. That's the whole test, are you willing to keep your humanity.
Well in a state of trance from the constant amount of fear it would honestly make sense why they're so dumb because their intelligence is being overridden by the adrenaline rush, and the constant threat of death.
Amanda didn’t deserve that. Xavier shouldn’t done his trap like a man. He so worried about his own survival and is willing to sacrifice everyone else for it. That’s why I think his death was justified and Amanda thrown into a pit that wasn’t even her test was not
@@arfbark Yeah, I don't claim to be an expert on thug life on the street, etc., but it feels like if Xavier was in a gang, his homies would consider him just a punk after his behavior in that house.
I have a theory about Obi and his trap. Assuming that the valve he broke off doesn’t control the fire, or if the trap was rigged for it to not be controlled outside, he could’ve turned the valve inside to turn off the fire early and then go for the two antidotes, that way he would’ve been able to live and get the antidotes. Though, granted, it was dark inside and he probably wouldn’t have been able to see it.
The neurotoxin took hours to affect them, they still made a bunch of really shitty decisions towards the beginning that could've been avoided. And the incinerator one is so simple you really don't need much brainpower to figure it out
Note: the razor box trap had a key right above (as mentioned in the video). If Addison had noticed it, she would had pull that sucker off FIRST and take the antidote and would had suffered less injury. Of course, that trap was not meant for her but for Gus (dude who got shot in the eye). Addison's trap is much more interesting. In the original script for Saw 2, Addison's trap resembled a waffle iron. Upon trying to grab the antidote, two clamps would have trapped her wrists and slowly heated up. To free herself, she had to press her face against a third hot iron positioned right in front of her. Doing so would have activated a mechanism that released her from the clamps so she could obtain the syringe. Her instruction tape would have said something like, "she had to sacrifice her looks to save her life." I would had liked to seen that on film.

Apart from breaking through wall/window and simply leaving, they could tear their clothes and make makeshift masks to filter some of the toxic particles. They could also cover the ventillation shafts with said clothes, preventing the gas from entering the room.
The furnace:
Other than blocking the entrance with anything to prevent it from shutting, the guy could remove his clothes and unfold them on the floor, killing the flames (no oxygen = no fire) or at least slow them down.
The needle pitt:
Unfold the blankets on top of the needles, stack them so the layer is thick, then slowly descend into the pitt, standing on said blankets and start digging through using stick, bar, or cloth-covered hand to find the key.
The box with antidote:
After she put both hands in the holes, why didn't she simply asked the other dude to push the blades with his hands so she can remove hers?
So basically, the actual problem here is the stupidity of almost everyone in this film.
if this movie was in the current state of 2020 they would have face masks on them at all times lmao
this person must have worked with John Kramer.
Another solution to the furnace one: Just use the syringe. Once you see it's part of the mechanism, just don't pull it off, inject yourself, and leave without setting it off.
Xavier was definitely not going to help her

I think he would 8f died of blood lot and his skull got broken
Honestly probably just having your arms in the way of it when it shuts would be enough to stop it. I doubt the contraption would have enough forced to cut right through your arm and your skull
Did you study any anatomy? You can definitely lose a lot of blood if all your facial arteries are severed.

There's one thing Jigsaw didn't take into account when planning the detective's trap: if you put somebody's kid in danger, the parents are not going to stop and chat with you. They're gonna do whatever the heck it takes to save their kid.
No he knew that
I feel like my main issue with most of these movies is that most of the people who get put in the traps aren't that bad.
I think the thing with the guy who called in sick was that he did it repeatedly or possibly even commiting workers comp fraud

What game chilsy
Thanks bro now I can make the traps harder for the kids in my basement
What?
(I hope that people also just say "What?" In the comments, Then it will be just "What?" What?)
lmao
The needle part was the worst
Wait until flesh balance
I cringe so much just from seeing the pit of needles.
i'm amazed Amanda didn't wind up with some kind of bloodborne illness from those used needles. Eugh. Makes me cringe every time I see it.
Roberto sergio de Almeida naw the angel wing one is worse😬

"All of these guys acts like an idiot" its horror movie, they share one dying braincell 😂
Not to mention the gas so it would be half a brain cell in a delirious state
Sounds like me and my friends
inb4 people buying toilet paper at the start of the pandemic, we've been too hard on horror movies
Well in a state of trance from the constant amount of fear it would honestly make sense why they're so dumb because their intelligence is being overridden by the adrenaline rush, and the constant threat of death.
Yeah
Bet Amanda did not expect to get thrown in those needles tho 😂 so guess she got some karma
Amanda didn’t deserve that. Xavier shouldn’t done his trap like a man. He so worried about his own survival and is willing to sacrifice everyone else for it. That’s why I think his death was justified and Amanda thrown into a pit that wasn’t even her test was not
J Amanda did kinda deserve it too.
Damn right she deserved it
@@arfbark Yeah, I don't claim to be an expert on thug life on the street, etc., but it feels like if Xavier was in a gang, his homies would consider him just a punk after his behavior in that house.
She deserved it because shes a drug addict, and shes pretending to be nice
Here’s how to survive: As an actor, get your director to let you live in the movie.
🤯
Then go clamp the prosthetic on their face hunger games betrayal style.
Just realised, the drug dealer throws the ex-addict into the pit of needles. I wonder if that was an intentional detail.

Though, granted, it was dark inside and he probably wouldn’t have been able to see it.
honestly i think when watching that scene most people were thinking "damn if only he saw it on the way in!"
This is really unfair. How are you supposed to think when you’re pumped full of neurotoxin?
Idk I have never watch this movie but I think you just gotta Pat attention to small details
The neurotoxin took hours to affect them, they still made a bunch of really shitty decisions towards the beginning that could've been avoided. And the incinerator one is so simple you really don't need much brainpower to figure it out
Don't think use your brain - Morgan Freeman
You could take off your shirt, pee all over it, then tie it around your mouth and nose.
Just wear a designer mask. It works for the Corona Virus. And don't forget to stay 6 feet apart from it.
Mia Anderson agreed
This reminds me of Cecil's trap
Gabriel Araneta in a way for sure. I still would had loved to see it on film though.
