The 14V brawler sounds like an idea for increasing those Longbow front line casualties and losses even though the CASE II addition is an improvement. The OH sounds like a mod to further use this 'Mech as a hit-and-run striker, without apparently altering its engine. The LGB-8V also sounds like a bold and potentially useful variation. Yeah, of course I'm going to appreciate the 12R's inclusion of jump jets. Missles for arms, and shoulders, it'll support any fire you start. It's also a model generally adequate for taking on cultists. Well, after this list of variants my space popcorn is finished, Narrator. Thanks go to you for profiling yet another big 'bot from FASA that hails back to some personal nostalgia. One of my absolute favorites. This mech is the veritable definition of the term missle boat. When used properly the Longboe reigns hellfire on the battlefield.
One of my all time favorite mechs. Have a custom LGB-8C. Designed for guarding the rear, it drops one lrm20 and the 2 lrm5's to add an arrow IV launcher, a C3 slave unit, and an extra medium laser.
Favorite, one of the unseen that wasn't out there in the forefront of Mechs. The V7 version came in from the TRO 3050 had new visual appearance and one first changed before the Unseen lawsuit came up, causing Project Phoenix redesigns.
Oh man I" remember this bad boy when I was looking for good artillery mech's the Long bow assault was always good for giving my light maneuverable mech's some good artillery support and was one of my greatest pleasures to paint 😀👍
You had to bring up the MW4 memories didn't you? The Longbow's fire power was awesome in that game, but man it would over heat if you looked at it wrong. Most of my Longbow's in BTA usually get an XL upgrade, a down grade of the 20's to 15's( but it carries 4 of them) and Ferro if I can fit it. Oh, and ammo for days!
One of my all ti.e favorites up until 3055 even Salamander came out. My personal Longbow in LW5. 2 LRM15. 2 SRM6. 4 ML. Max armor and DHS. Just unstoppable on the game
If I'm packing an Assault Mech I will probably want it in the long range support role so a Longbow is high on the list. I used to run a custom 7V replacing two of the Medium Pulse Lasers with Jump Jets. I thought about making one switching the Medium Lasers to four ER Mediums for Jump Jets but I'm not sure if I ever actually tried it. (The idea was in an old notebook of Battletech Mech design ideas I had jotted down when I went to visit some family members in 2009 but I left it there and didn't get it back until 2012. I didn't mean to take it with me I just must have meant to toss it on my bed while packing and tossed it in the suitcase by mistake)
