Thanks for posting this - I've been waiting to change my panel for a gloss one for months! I didn't want to start it until someone made a video, its hard to justify breaking a new laptop if it doesn't go well. All done now and it makes a lot of difference - thanks again.
With the strips... To make ends to grab on for removal next time, could you just run the strips down further toward the bottom, and leave part of the paper covering attached at the end? Maybe save a little paper to attach to the sticky side on the back?
Where can I get a 120hz screen for this laptop? I bought one and everything works but I cannot sealed it because even though the screen is 15.6 is bigger than the original one. Thanks !!
Hey there, thanks for your videos......very informative and thorough! I have spilled oil inside my company dell Latitude 5590 and was wanting you to do a video showing how to disassemble the screen and every layer and clean them individually since the oil is probably on the all the various layers. Seems like it would be possible, and even if a few particles end up inside it would beat the current screenshot, so if you could do it I think many would benefit since it is a common problem and although tedious i think it's do-able. I have cloud patches and white patches all over screen which makes it damn near impossible to view without an external monitor....thanks !!
This guy just skipped how to disconnect the lcd cable from the damaged panel. I had to search other videos then figured out there is little tiny metal bar around the connector, you really carefully lift up that bar with some kind of sharp blade of nail or whatever. I almost had wrong idea to pull out the cable directly could damage the cable for good. Thanks anyway for the videos!
Hello! I have the same laptop. The screen is 144hz full hd. When i turn on my laptop in the right place the display show me Lines or black windows. If i close the case and reopen again more times the display show entire image corectly. You can give me an advice? What can be broke? I think it s not the display.. can be the display band?
What panel did you replace it with and what panel would you recommend for the exact same model laptop that is 144hz 1920x1080p and good color/brightness?
Usually there will be a physical pin count difference. If it fits, I wouldn't recommend swapping it as the power delivery on the motherboard is meant for the original screen. Adding a more power hungry screen could result in power/display issues in the future
My screen just broked today. Glad I found this video !
Thank you for the video, do you know what type of lcd connector is used ?

Do you know if it's the same process with the 2020 G7 7590 model? I don't want to purchase a full assembly if I can just replace the screen.
how much does this repair cost generally?
