Here's why we need to get rid of stage racing: 17 laps to conclude a caution is ridiculous. Hence why if we are to continue this nonsense, keep the race under green. 2-3 less cautions will contribute to the tire conservation strategy.

Thank you for the upload!! Question to you all. I’m fairly new to NASCAR. Still learning a lot. Near the end of the race (3:08:40) there were a series of green flag pit stops in the chaos. The announcers were saying no cautions. Can someone explain to me why a caution in that situation would have been bad? Thanks!
Cautions are neither good nor bad, unless there are way too many accidents and the race takes forever. Under normal circumstances, especially if the race is boring, they may throw a caution if someone gets into the wall (lightly) or there is a car slow on the track. However, there are two reasons that they would avoid throwing the caution at this time and during this race (at other times). 1) There has been some questionable no calls (of cautions) during green flag pit stops, especially during recent races. Obviously pitting during green puts you a lap, or multiple laps, down (depending on size the track and layout of pit road). If you and a bunch of other drivers pit, and the caution comes out, you and everyone who pitted with you are stuck lap(s) down. The drivers who stayed out and didn't yet pit get an advantage, and you and everyone who pitted with you, get screwed, though it was a risk you took when you came when you did. 2) At other points of the race, they were also avoiding throwing a caution when they normally may have thrown a caution, almost to a comical degree. This was probably because, if you throw a caution, everyone's getting a new set of tires. Do this multiple times, and everyone is out of tires 2/3 of the way into the race.
Loved racing before they turned all races into an all star race. What kind of strategy is throw tires on at every caution. When cautions are manufactured due to stages and other stuff, we've degraded the quality of racing. Gone are the days of long green flag runs and putting under green.
