The camera work and shot selection by the producers seems so much better than what we get currently get in the 2022 season. I think we’re going backwards.
You got that right. Race coverage is damn pitiful now days
Think?? Well we've been going n backwards for more than 15 years
Not only that but now in 2024 fox has the mics around the track turned down so low you can’t hear the engines and only “crank it up” on pit stops
It's because back then they had trained professionals who know what grabs the attention of the viewers
@timcervantes2957 right!! Like why crank it up for pit stops😂😂
I still watch races but the production is terrible now.
I love this race, very underrated Dega race.
You should make a video about it
@@Sharpiecar 'The Most Underrated Talladega race'
I can see it
Shouldn’t have ended under caution
It wasn't even a three wide photo finish with a flip, thumbs down.
The racing was so different back then.
Man this field was full of iconic schemes
Love the #42 scheme
2000s NASCAR schemes were the best
05-07 had so many nice cars
Yeah and the drivers too almost all of them don't race anymore
Tv coverage back then - made the racing more exciting to watch than 2022.
Yep, production value is terrible now!!
The presentation was better...but so was the racing!
It's such a shame that these days, on the race coverage, the cars are so quiet, when they should be loud as hell. This is properly great to watch because you can actually hear the noise over the commentary, just how it should be! Fantastic race to watch.
That’s just fox. I know everybody loves to hate on NBC simply because Rick Allen and referring to it as “Nothing But Commercials” but their car audio is noticeably louder than fox’s and a big reason why I prefer their coverage
That’s how Fox mixes their audio. NBC is way louder with the cars and (as per usual) people complain about not being able to hear announcers over the cars
I don't want the commentary to be drowned out completely though
That X-pipe music 👑💀
Man I miss these cars, the sound is just perfect. Way to go DJ, to get your last win with that Yates power under the hood.
The cars sound so good !
Dale Jarrett's final win... My all-time favorite driver! I was so excited to see him win because I honestly never thought he would again. That Yates horsepower on the plate tracks was always something else.
Yates power was king of Talladega in the 90s-early 00s. Since 1989 👑
That interview with Michael Waltrip is just the wildest! No wonder his and DW became some of the best playbyplay
It was good...5hen it wadn't..then it was...but it wadn't...and then I saw the aarons dream machine and I thought that was good...but it wadn't..but I HAD FUNN!!
@@ddaou024 but it wadn't..but I HAD FUNN!!.. but then you didn't!!
I've been waiting for this race forever! I was rooting for Jarrett so hard because he was always one of my favorite drivers who struggled the better part of 3 years up until this point, and Yates was my favorite team as a kid, particularly the #28 with Ricky Rudd. This race also is sentimental to me because it was the last race I watched with my grandpa before he passed two months later. It just takes me back and it's emotional for me all around. R.I.P. Grandpa and R.I.P Robert Yates.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I was a big Jarrett/Rudd, Yates fan. I watched the 1980 Rose Bowl with my Gramps and he died after the game. RIP Grandpa, RIP Robert Yates, RIP Gramps. RYR forever!
I remember watching this live back in '05. Man time flies.
Jr... "Well that's what we get paid for" what a legend lol
a classic race from start to finish and the final win for Dale Jarrett & Robert Yates...
thank you for the spoiler
@@pat7293 most of us knew how this race turned out since 2005, Hoss...😂
@@pat7293 Dont read the comments before you watch lol
Both 2005 Talladega races are so underrated.
Talladega Nights was filmed during that weekend.
really?! thats awesome!!
That's cool to learn
Shake and bake Ricky Bobby! If you ain't First your last!
ç
These cars sounded so damn good. .and look faster than what we have today,if they makes any sense. Great era of racing ..
I got so drunk at this race .
It made me stop drinking
Haven't drink since .
Thank you Budweiser
1:21:51 Riggs’ wreck looked eerily similar to Earnhardt’s wreck in 96
Been looking for this one forever. One of my favorite Talladega races. Remember being 15 years old watching this with my dad who was a Jarrett fan. Was glad he won.
"Wooooo! Yeah baby, we're back on the map!" God bless ya DJ. You're the MAN!
Such an underrated Talladega race idk how it gets overlooked
this is probably my favorite Talladega race of all time. I watched this race when I was 12.
Loved this Dega race. I was a huge Dale Jarrett fan as a kid. Glad I was watching his last win. I was going crazy.
Man I really miss the voice of Benny Parsons "Man oh Man"
Love it! Such great memories of watching this in my college dorm room and cheering my head off for DJ.
This is peak NASCAR idc what anyone says 🤷🏼♂️
Yeah, mid 90s to around 08 was the peak in my view. Went way down hill from 2010 to 2019.
Dale Jarrett’s final victory
Last win for Robert Yates Racing
I always rooted for Dale Jarrett and Smoke when I was a kid. In Hungary, that time on Eurosport we had some nascar races (an hour or so long recap and the last segments of races) .
I remember watching this race. I was super happy to see ol DJ win one.
That old surface looks cool, bring backs memories, but pretty good races after repave
The sound of those cars 🙄🙄😬orgasmic..the best generation cars
Gen4
I was a huge Booby Labonte fan as a teen. Even had a NASCAR football jersey that was green with his name and infamous red number #18, and interstate battery logo on the sleeves. My step-brother had one for Tony Stewart. We would both wear our jerseys every Sunday.
That pass by Tony Stewart on the last lap was sheer brilliance. Too bad Dale was just a hair better that day
You sure? If there wasn't a caution would Dale have still been ahead by the time they even got back to the tri-oval?
Ok one more thing I have to point out. That move by Jarrett in turn 1 on the last lap is bananas. He passed Tony from the third line with zero help. Good Lord that car was flying!
I remember watching this race on the living room TV and getting up right before a commercial break to get a drink when I heard an announcer say kind of under his breath "uh......Dale Jarrett just caught the first pack BY HIMSELF". I still remember turning around and doing a triple take because I didn't believe I had just heard that. One of the fastest cars I've seen at 'Dega. Fantastic, feel good win.
That Yates power 👑
I like to believe Dale was doing it for Davey right there 😂💪🏻
@@youdropwemop8854 It certainly seemed like. Never seen power like that before or since
Back when Nascar was good!
LETS GO I LOVE THIS RACE
Came across this in 2024 and all I can say is I miss this kinda racing and it's just a time capsule of racing legends that no longer drive
Dale Jarrett's last Cup win.
Yes DJ! Yes! You deserved this one more than anyone buddy. We love you DJ.
We finally got an HD upload of this race
Got up at 3am to watch this race. It was a Ripper. Very Iconic Race. Michael Waltrip flipped for the 800th time. Mark Martin went on an epic Rant in his interview. Scott Riggs went end over end. And thats just the tip of the iceburg.
It is so awesome to see Dale Jarret win! He was my favorite growing up
Awesome racing. I thought I had it but got tight in 3 and 4 on last lap. Needed a lap or two more
Jarret's final win before his 2008 retirement from NASCAR racing
DJs 2005 scheme is stupidly underrated
This race is the only 4 laps that Dale Jarret led the whole season
These were the best days of NASCAR. Back when you had to have talent to race.
I can still remember watching this race as a teenager. I remember thinking I should cherish this moment because this could be DJ’s last win, so I pulled out my flip phone and recorded his victory lane interview 😂 good times
The 2005 Aaron's 499 would be amazing. Hard to find footage of that race that's not mashed potato quality
its up gotta search
The quality of this race is fantastic! Really awesome to see this race and more from this era so clearly! 😍
One of my favorite drivers. One of my favorite wins by him.
Anyone else wake up to this 😂
NASCAR, please bring this racing back. Us fans hate the “right place right time” racing that has become super speedway racing. The wrecks that eliminate the whole field are the worst
Yeah, this was real, no stages, no waiting for the white flag and tearing up half the field, fuel saving and 2 wide but no passing? That's NOT racing!
I can hear the cars😮 Why don't they have production like this today??
"Racing looked intense early out there today...."
Jr, "Well, that's what we get paid the big bucks for...."
Could almost see Dale senior over his shoulder telling him that.
DJ is my man and always will be! I really miss him in the #88! I really miss the #88 blue n red Quality Care ford!
2005- the one year we had Ford Tauruses and Dodge Chargers
Ford switched to the fusion in 06, and dodge used the intrepid in 04, so this was the only year with the charger and the taurus
Thanks NASCAR for the upload.
A lot of the not so good drivers had great runs and decent finishes in this race. Dave Blaney, Travis Kvapil, Scott Wimmer, Mike Wallace, Bobby Hamilton Jr, Jeff Green, Tony Raines, and Robby Gordon.
I love Dale Jarrett so much! A true pioneer!
How full the grandstands used to be 😮. Nowerdays most venues are considering reducing grandstand sizes and seating cus nobody goes anymore 😂
Dale Jarrett wins for the first time since 2003.
Bobby Hamilton Jr. Failed to qualify.
Bobby Hamilton Jr. Will start from the back lol.
Need more of these gen 4 plate races
Dale jarret did what he did in the 2000 bud shootout in this race
My favorite Talladega race
bring that exhaust sound back its godly
Go to Talladega or Daytona you'll hear it
@@billnason7098 Lol no it isn't. It's been gone since 2008.
@@billnason7098 lmao you clearly havent been watching since 08... they no longer do the x pipe crossover exhaust. and now the 2022 cars run just true duals with no crossover at all....and just sound like dump trucks.
These cars so unbelievable
Even 36 years after it's infamous first race Talladega justs SHREDS tires. So many blowouts in this race.
Incase you couldn’t tell Mark Martin was never a fan of this racing
3:35:16
That 29 paint scheme is 🔥.
It's just not the same without the intimidator
miss the old race cars, the huge crowds, no stage bs like today what the hell happened to nascar
Mark Martin interview is so CLASSIC!!
Jamie McMurray Also could win but he Started tô fall down
Is the dega Iracing race on the fox sports app? If so can you also stream it here on yt?
There are only 4 drivers in this race that are still in the Cup Series today.
Actually 6. Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman, Martin Truex Jr., and J.J. Yeley. But I think Kurt’s retiring at the end of the 2021 season.
@@BigBennyBoy Kurt's at 23XI while Newman's going to SRX
Man elliott Sadler was awesome that year, just goes to show what he could do with good equipment
1:22:01 listen to the crowd
This has a chance to be one of the best Talladega races ever but with the two big wrecks and some overly aggressive driving and bump drafting this race was good but could have been an instant classic race
It wss good but my all-time favorite Talladega race was the spring 01 caution free race where the field was like 3 4 wide the whole time
Terrible Caution flag to end the race. Tony's lap 2 move was insane!
I just went to the Xfinity race here at Mid Ohio, which is a 2.5 mile road course. It was such an awesome experience, I'm really thinking of going to Talladega this year. Has anyone here gone? Anybody have any experiences, good or bad?
I'm just wondering how NASCAR got to what it is today, when it used to be what it was in 2005. It's sad. This was the peak era for NASCAR.
Man I miss Dale Jarrett
1:21:54
2nd big one
I was rooting for Tony Stewart, what a race!
mark martin ugh
Does anyone know how long it's going to be before the next season for virtual or iracin starts?
I miss that sound
This is the best race 🏎️🏎️
Please upload the 1997 Winston 500 (Talladega spring race). It is the fastest race in NASCAR history!
No.
@@kurosakikun1
Beg your pardon?
You mean the fastest 500 mile race? It’s clearly not the shortest race in NASCAR history, but for a 500 mile race, yes.
@@anthonydeloreto3881
It is described as the fastest NASCAR race of all time on Wikipedia.
Given that virtually only Daytona and Talladega - when run without any cautions - since the 80s are possible candidates for the fastest race of all time (and all of them, baring qualifying and exhibition races are either 400 or 500 mile races), I am pretty certain it is the fastest NASCAR race in history. Feel free to correct me, fellow NASCAR fan :)
@@X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X The 2017 Watkins Glen Cup race was 2 hours & 7 minutes, the shortest race ever in the modern era, and a race that was so short since 1971 when Tiny Lund won at Hickory Speedway in 1 hour & 22 minutes.
This was filmed from the movie Talladega Nights: The ballad of Ricky Bobby.
3:35:10 for myself but you'll probably be curious as to what it is, its right before kyle petty's crash
I fell asleep last night and auto play left me here and apparently I watched the entire thing
Lol that’s exactly how I got here today
Talladega Nights Filming
Wait is Ricky Bobby in it?
good race thanks nascar.
I was hoping they would air this race!
Missed this race BITD. Solid fun!
2:39 how did Bobby Hamilton Jr fail to qualify and be forced to the rear of the field?
they made a deal with Hermie Sadler so Hermie didn't start, and the Tide car could.
