This was a great tutorial without saying a word. I'm for sure going to use this method when i get my new colored rockshox stickers. Thanks for the video. 👍👍
Great video on how to quickly and effectively put decals on. Thanks! Not sure if your color scheme goes with the bike, but at least you showed how to put on the decals in a clear and easy way.
@@TrailBreaker well I was initially very happy, and then on closer inspection a few air bubbles got in there. Looks good enough, and I have a couple spare stickers in case my OCD gets the better of me 👍🏻
Thanks for this. I have a 2015 Trek Remedy 7 in Nitro Green. It came with lots of accent decals specific to that year. Do you know if I can find them anywhere? They are on the fork and frame...not just logos but also trim/accent decals.
I think I'll place tape just on one reference point like a flat side of the decal, and go from there. Afraid of overlap with 4 points and if i do overlap would probably wreck the new decal. one point is close enough
I'm curious to the temp of the heat gun. Do you know what temp it is? I have a heat gun and I can turn the temperature up and down depending on what temp I want it. Mine goes way up such as to be used to solder. So I didn't want to go to hot but I want to go at a temp that will work efficiently.
now put protection on it. I use All Mountain Style. it will protect scraping it up. but it's really made for XC forks, I think there should be more sizes, it does not cover enough of my Fox 36 fork. about double width would be good, so front back, and side was covered, not only front and side or only side to half of rear and front. Butt there is an interesting product that recently came on the market, it's half circle formed cover that is secured with zip ties, and has a transparent window.
@@TrailBreaker I forgot the name of the half tube guard, somehow I could find it I saved it in a Instagram list if I see it again I will come back to this
I’m diggin the orange! I like your idea of taping the old decals off to know where to put the new ones. Way better than my MK1 Eyeball method!
👍 Would that be the MK1-Mod-0 eyeball?😀
Actually I’m about on Mod 2 if you count bifocals!!!
True dat, Brother👊 I gave up 10 years ago😉
Use a sharpie to outline it and place the new one there and then whipe it off with IPA
Tried the eyeball method . My eyeballs must not be perfect cause my new decals certainly are not!🤣

Glad it was helpful!
Marking with tape is a great idea. I haven't seen that before. I ordered my stickers a couple days ago, should be here tomorrow! Great job!
Thanks, Cody! I'm a little retentive about things like that 😬
You my sir are an absolute legend! ive never seen anyone do this..this is now my method for life! THANKS
Awesome! Thanks👊

Lol. Yeah maybe a little clashy but I like it! Thanks!
@@TrailBreaker That is ALL that counts!!!
I will change my RockShox ZEB oil slick decals using this video. So helpful
Nice! I never thought of using tape to help with application
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Any tips on how to change the color of the trek lettering on the downtube?
This is genius...also very pleasantly funky! I just unfortunately f-ed up my decals, and have to replace them, thanks for the great diy method!!!
Thanks! Yeah, decals can be tricky
I'm doing my Fox's soon...orange to gray...this is great thanks. And about that bike stand at the beginning....hmmm.
Piece of cake! What? No likey?🙂
@@TrailBreaker No...it's cool. I shall make one.
thanks for the help! embarking on this tonight!
Good luck!

@@Bennyhanna7 lol, wait until you crash it into something and THEN change it😊🤙

Great tutorial. Where on eBay did you get your decals? Thanks.
Ebay
seems pretty easy to remove the old ones, I for one much prefer the logo less look. I will take them off mine...
I just wanted to remove the stickers on my fox 40 without affecting the paint. Thanks bro
Glad I could help👊
Nice! ive been wanting to do this to my bike as well!
Thanks! I had the decals for six months. I don't know why I put off changing them 😀
@@TrailBreaker separated shoulder , you tube life ECT !
LOL! No...I'm just lazy and easily distracted by objects with wheels😅
@@TrailBreaker me too!
Such a good method !!
Thanks, I will just make my rockrider fork look like fox fork haha
Fantastic job!! Thanks for sharing. Do you know if domestic hair dryer should work as well instead of industrial heater?
Thanks, yup. It’ll just take a little longer. Without heat you just risk the decal tearing into little strips.
@@TrailBreaker Great thanks!
Any ideas on how to easily remove and apply decals on the rear shock?
Same exact way. Pretty simple
What could I use instead of Goo Gone to get the sticky stuff off? Nail varnish remover or something similar?
robin_dessa Well, you can use mineral spirits or lacquer thinner but you gotta use gloves since they’re harmful.
I think I'll place tape just on one reference point like a flat side of the decal, and go from there. Afraid of overlap with 4 points and if i do overlap would probably wreck the new decal. one point is close enough
Thanx M8🤙
No problem 👍
Can you tell me how can i make this when i want to make 2021 Fox Stickers on my Old Fox 36 Fork?
dont
Wow easy as pie! Thanks! Hair dryer to slow, getting cheap heat gun at depot..
Comes in handy for other stuff too! Thanks!
Thanks for the informative video. Do you have a link to where you got your stickers? Thanks!
I got them on EBAY
What was the first liquid spray you used?
I used Goo Gone to remove the old adhesive and rubbing alcohol to clean the Goo Gone off

I went pretty hot but not FULL hot or full fan speed.
@@TrailBreaker Thanks
what is that tool you used is that a hair dryer
it's a heat gun. a hair dryer would work too, just slower
Ireland would have to run night class for better bicycle repairs
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!👊
Would a hair dryer work if you don’t have a heat gun?
Rob Gams Absolutely! It’ll just take a little longer
Great job, thanks !
Glad you liked it! Thanks!

Yup! might take a bit longer, but sure!
Dziękuję ☺
thank you. worked great!
You're welcome!
5 Stars!!
Thanks!
❤️
i mean I can just leaving in the Australian summer sun risht
