This is a short video where we went to Manang till Khangsar on our reserved jeep and from there we trekked till Tilicho Lake which is the highest altitude lake in the world. It was really adventure trip and one of the best thing i have experienced myself and on my way to Manang i felt that being Nepali you should first go and visit the places thats in our country first.
Tilicho, the lake in the highest altitude in Nepal(4919m) is located in manang district of Nepal. This video provides you the details on the way to Tilicho lake. The trek takes up 5-6 days. Starting from Dharan reaching besi sahar(drive)and then to manang(drive), the trek starts from manang or khangsar reaching the tilicho basecamp. The next day you reach the tilicho lake from the base camp.
Tilicho lake trek is known for the world’s highest lake located in Manang District of Nepal in the Annapurna range at an altitude of 4919m. Among the different trek to Annapurna regions, Tilicho Lake trek is also famous for its religious point of view as many Hindu pilgrims from around the world visit this lake. The trek is undoubtedly providing some majestic panoramic view, great variety of culture and diversity, finest deep valleys and high mountains encircling the giant Annapurna Himal. The place is rich with the wide range of people and terrain, sub-tropical to high, dry landscape resembling the Tibetan Plateau. The trail leads you to the fine village inhabited by a wide diversity of people from different ethnic groups.
Tilicho Lake Trek starts right from Besisahar to famous Annapurna circuit route, which goes along the Marsyangdi River valley, with great views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to the east. every day we will see the different landscapes as the trail start from subtropical climate and end at the snow line. For the lovers of nature it a magnificent and real opportunity to see a lake at this altitude and also it is famous for the religious point of view.
After visiting the lake the trail goes to Yak Kharka and joins the normal route crossing the Thorong La Pass (5416m). We will also visit Muktinath via Plateau of Kagbeni and return to Jomsom. On the way, we will pass through every type of vegetation zone from lush sub-tropical to harsh semi-desert and the highest trekking passes in the world.

Hi. I hijacked my mom's you tube A/C. This road is so much better than it was in Oct 1997. I was going to raft the Marshyangdi River on a five day trip. This road was first cut in 1996, and cut the walk to the put-in to one day from three. The 29 miles on the road to Manang was the most scared I have ever been. There were NO BRIDGES back then, and certainly no concrete or bollards to keep you on the road. Other than that. Nepal is a beautiful place!

Dangerous in monsoon. Thrilling. Good in winter season.It will take whole day to reach there. In bike it is pain in the ass. Concrete road,stone paved road,plain mud road from Besisahar to Manang. Upto besisahar it is good highway.
