An excellent, in-depth review for one of the finest achievements on the GameCube! Retro Studios really stunned the world as not only a new studio handling a much beloved IP and changing it’s perspective, but also crafting a true showpiece for the GameCube only 1 year into the console’s lifecycle! I do agree the fetch quest at the end of the game is pretty awful, but the final boss fight is worth it. Excellent review again man!
One of the best GameCube Games ever made hands down. I still haven’t beaten this game because of a specific area I got stuck at where when you enter, it’s extremely hot and I don’t know how to get past it, but besides that, it’s still not only one of the best games on the system, but one of the best games ever made. May not be on my list of favorite games but still remaining to be one of the best. Great Review as always Retro Wolf.
I really do hope that Metroid prime trilogy comes out for the switch at some point so that way everyone can really enjoy such a great and excellent trilogy of first person action adventure games.
Great job on your episode of GameCube gallery on Metroid prime this was an episode I was really looking forward to it is such a masterpiece of gaming it really is one of the best in the Metroid series and it was a game that blew us out of the water with a fantastic soundtrack great and excellent gameplay and overall easily that the best that the Metroid series have to offer I got this game on my Wii emulator which is Nintendont I am definitely going to have plans to play this game before the end of the year.
Matt, thanks for the thorough review! I don’t have the GameCube but the Wii. Can’t believe how expensive the Metroid Trilogy has gotten. I heard they have it ready to port to the Switch but sitting on it. I would think they should release it before Metroid 4 releases. I guess we’ll see!

bought a gamecube and a copy of this for no real reason a few days ago and have been loving it so far, its hard and the controls are weird but it feels like the gba titles
I had a GameCube in 2002 but never played Metroid Prime. Just played it for the first time in 2021. Late to the party on this amazing game that is now one of my favorites of all time!

There was a lot of doubt about Prime when it was announced and released about the change to 3D. The Gamecube and a lot of its games where just overlooked and dismissed. Prime is a great game. I played through it again recently and enjoyed it. The controls take some getting used to. Hopefully, we get a Prime series rerelease on the switch before Prime 4. Star Wars Rogue Squadron is another title that was an early release and still looks and plays great.
You should do blowout for the gamecube gallery. I know not on anyone's radar really but I found it for 5$ awhile back and felt it was almost a hidden gem. It's a fun game I rarely hear people talk about. Kinda feels like what if contra met aliens 3 back on the sega genesis days

I have seen one video of some guy just trying to be the avgn kind of reviewer and it seemed like he never even played the game please do one for it. I really think that is a hidden gem on gamecube no one ever really mentions

You have to beat a boss and get the Varia Suit and then you can go in hot areas. That is very early in the game

Prime 1 is 100% coming to the Switch as either a very advanced remaster or a remake and I think this year. Fingers crossed
