For all that we're seeing right now, we still do not know how this thing will work, nor do we know what the games look like or how they will play. I feel like Nintendo can tolerate the design going out, but there is far more emphasis on keeping the controller sensor and C button a secret.
I would rather see this via a proper reveal for my own enjoyment. But to be fair, when we say Nintendo should be able to reveal this ‘in their own time’ ... 'their own time' was set by a desire to squeeze one more glut of Christmas sales from the ‘broader public’ - parents who had no idea what they were buying for their kids would be out of date within a year. They must have known leaving it this late in the manufacturing process would lead inevitably to leaks - they made a calculation that the extra Christmas present sales they would amass was the bigger prize.
This is exactly the way they think, according to Kit & Krysta. The assumption is that these sales are going mostly to habitual late adopters or very casual fans, and they won't be mad about the reveal anyway. So really only a few buyers will be bothered about it, and Nintendo is willing to just let them be mad.
I think these companies are making and shipping accessories with the hope they get them through port before tariffs. That would explain why they don’t seem to be coordinating with Nintendo.
The optical sensor seems legit, but the little attachment nub seen on the bottom of the joycons in the renders here would prevent it from laying flat on the optical side. Huh....
i think the joycons aren't magnetic and it has a latch at the top as you can see a hole where it would be in the video and the buttom would just have a notch to sit into. having them intirely magnetic wouldn't be a good idea as if you pick up the system by the joycon the weight of the system is likely going to make it detach and you will end up dropping it.
It seems that they're magnetic *and* have a 1-way latch. So it automatically latches on when you attach them magnetically, and when you want to remove them you must manually press release it and pull.

Love the looks of it. Seems like an important and good improvement of something that was great. Dont have to invent something different when what you have is great. Love also the bump up to 8 inch. 8 inch seems so far like a sweet spot for handheld when it comes to grip control and weight. 7 inch have also been Nice.
I don't see what the question is at this point. That's the Switch 2 - full stop. These leaks (and I don't think we should call them leaks anymore - that implies some sort of wrongdoing) have been happening for so long now with no peep from Nintendo whatsoever. If something wasn't above board about any of this, Nintendo would have pounced by now. I think it's fair to say that these accessories manufacturers are already producing a sizable stock of these products in anticipation of the launch. If Nintendo went and pulled a fast one by unveiling something else, it would open them up to considerable litigation.
Yeah I believe that might be our best look at 'Switch 2' yet, it looks beautiful, but I would love to see a white console with colorful buttons or a black and orange colored console that would be awesome! 🖤🧡
More likely I imagine it would click into a mouse shell peripheral, which would make me kind of just wonder why not just use actual existing mice? Would be nice for Mario Maker at least.
The only time they show it protruding out is when the release trigger is being held down. It is part of the release mechanism for detaching the joycons, so it stays inside of the joycon when not actively being used to disconnect them from the main switch body.
Mouse would be cool. If it is, I assume they'd put a piece of plastic in the box to make a mouse form. Would be great. Nightdives shooter ports (doom, quake etc) support mouse and keyboard on consoles. Tactics ogre too I believe? One of those strategy games. And of course future possibilities like Mario paint, sim city, civ, Mario maker.
Nintendo knows that as soon as this thing is announced, current Switch sales will take a hit. They are scared to mess with what has been a cash cow for them.
Something in me is hoping that all these leaks are fake and Nintendo actually has something more exciting in store than just an upgraded version of the Switch, but obviously these are pretty legitimate.
Man they better have Zelda Wind Waker hd 4k remake and Zelda Twilight Princess remake on switch 2 and I want Kirby Yarn 🧶, Bayonetta 4, Mario Odyssey 2 on Switch 2
I don't know about this idea that accessory manufacturers are just guessing what it's like - It takes a lot of capital to set up an assembly line and make molds for injection molding and all of that kind of stuff. We're talking years to pay for all of it, and if they don't get it right they still need to pay off all that money. I doubt they are in the business of guessing, especially if they want to have the accessories available in time for the launch of the system.

I’m sure Nintendo still has Aces up their sleeves. I’n sure they’re so close to launch, they just wanna remain quiet. But I’m CONFIDENT there’s still a ton of the console we still don’t know about, EVEN not regarding software.
I just have faith in Nintendo.
At this point they are in the litigation market more than the games market
For a moment i thought Felix was doing a cosplay of Luigi
Ha! You mean the "King of Second Bananas" ?
I'm back from the future to say this was 100% correct
Most disappointing, non-magical reveal timeline of a Nintendo console ever. Great job Nintendo.
The year is 2050, we are all playing switch 6, but nintendo still hasn't announced the switch 2
LMAO Felix at the end that was GOLD 😂
Any notice next Monday is the anniversary of the deep dive/price reveal/launch date of the og switch?
I was hoping for analogue triggers but it doesn't look like we getting them 😢
Only if it's a failure like the Dreamcast. LOL
Nintendo Life, this is the 7th week in a row we've seen "the best look at Swtich 2 yet"
I can NEVER get enough waffling!
I hope we can transfer data from the switch 1 to the switch 2
Yeah I believe that might be our best look at 'Switch 2' yet, it looks beautiful, but I would love to see a white console with colorful buttons or a black and orange colored console that would be awesome! 🖤🧡
More likely I imagine it would click into a mouse shell peripheral, which would make me kind of just wonder why not just use actual existing mice? Would be nice for Mario Maker at least.
Will it play games above 30fps and above 720p?
For the mouse theory, wouldn’t that little notch at the top get in the way of it being on its side? Seems to stick out farther that everything else
The only time they show it protruding out is when the release trigger is being held down. It is part of the release mechanism for detaching the joycons, so it stays inside of the joycon when not actively being used to disconnect them from the main switch body.
Finally the switch 2 reveal!
I like the theory that nintendo intentionally leaked some fake pictures, it would be really funny if they did that
"But until this is confirmed" we're gonna keep speculating our ass off in 15 - 20 min videos
What if leaks are planned as way to build hype as a sneaky form of promotion
Mouse would be cool. If it is, I assume they'd put a piece of plastic in the box to make a mouse form.
Would be great. Nightdives shooter ports (doom, quake etc) support mouse and keyboard on consoles. Tactics ogre too I believe? One of those strategy games. And of course future possibilities like Mario paint, sim city, civ, Mario maker.
So the C button stands for Cat so you can catch your Mouse got it
Nintendo knows that as soon as this thing is announced, current Switch sales will take a hit.
They are scared to mess with what has been a cash cow for them.
Maybe there was some NDA for a specific date and it is true that nintendo postponed the reveal past that date.
The “skull & co” grip for the switch is so well designed even Nintendo is copying their ideas.
Felix looks like Luigi
Feligi
@ 😂😂😂😂
Mangione?
@@pedjonga it’s a meeee Luigix 🤓
@@Chamberz55 haha..LOL 😆
Meanwhile I am replaying Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii U, and love the Wii Mote Pointer. This was peak in terms of non-pc aiming.
I'm still gonna wait for an OLED version.
Felix might be pleased to know the Jets are currently #1 in Central division
They won't make peripheral for something not sure.
Nintendo NX has Magsafe in the back confirmed
100 percent. This IS the Switch 2 and what it'll look like.. the only thing we havnt seen was the side of the right joy con. 🤔
Looks like the new joy-cons are covered up, and those parts at the back that slide on and off are part of the Genki product for the Switch 2.
I’ll never get over the fact that Felix always wears a Winnipeg Jets hat. it’s so jarring to me as a Winnipegger lmao
A flashing red light on the rail? Yep, that's an optical mouse.
Nice Winnipeg Jets hat!
2:12 a huge manufacturer may have got ahold of a fake and accidentally customized the wrong device? I doubt that.
No electromagnets, what happens to them when the power is removed? They are no longer energised and the part will fall off 😅
🙄
Genki getting a very lengthy court summons in the mail
Switch 2 has leaked so much it makes me think the company should be renamed Nin-Tena-do
This is either the most brilliant marketing campaign or its Nintendo being Nintendo 🧐🤪
