I absolutely despise these computer voiced vids that are full of incorrect information.

That car wasn't a boss 429 in the first movie it was a mach 1 351c

The movie car is more likely a 1969 Mach 1, powered by either a 351 Cleveland or optional 428 Cobra Jet. The movie car is shown with a hood scoop and wing available to the Mach 1 but not Boss 429, its also missing the “BOSS 429” call-out decals.
The Boss 429 shares the same body work as the same year Mach 1 in 1969 and 1970, early production 429’s where built from Mach 1 chassis sent to Kar Kraft to be completed, however the Boss 429 had a unique functional hood scoop and lacked the option for a trunk mounted wing found on the Mach 1. Kar Kraft was commissioned by Ford to facilitate Boss 429 production and produce unique engine bays as the 429 engine couldn’t fit in the 1969-1970 Mustang.
Before the release of the John Wick film, the Boss 429 where valued at around $300k and have been highly coveted in the Muscle car community. Due to the rarity and value and uniqueness of the 429 it is unlikely that a Boss 429 was retro fitted with Mach 1 parts for the movie, nor is it likely that a Mach 1 was fitted with a 429.
I’m my opinion the most accurate way to portray a Boss 429 in film would be to use an original Boss 429 as a picture car (used in low speed and or close up scenes) then have a collection of stunt cars (used in action scenes), cheaply sourced 1969 Mach 1s painted and retro fitted with replica hood scoops and call-out decals.
Either way I think the film crew and directors did an excellent job with the driving dynamics and sound effects and angles. The Mustangs used served there purpose well, to portray a badass old-school muscle car that could even satisfy a “gear head”.

The hood scoop was the actual giveaway. The Boss 429 had a way bigger hood scoop. Over giveaways were the automatic transmission and the chin spoiler. As no boss had an automatic.

Amen. Here is a fellow hobbyist who knows whereof he speaks. NOT a Boss 429. Nice car though.

Definitely not a 351 Cleveland. They didn't come out until 1970.

This is not a real Boss 429. I owned a 1969 Boss 429 and am very familiar with them. The giveaways of a real Boss and this car are many.
First, the Wick car has a Mach 1 hood scoop.
The front spoiler is a Mach 1 spoiler. The Boss spoiler is 1" shorter because of the weight of the engine.
The wheels of the Wick car are similar but not the real deal. Boss wheels had a different center cap that was needed for the Boss' custom brake rotors.
The Wick car has hood pins, but the Boss 429 didn't.
That was a Mach 1 engine at the 0:40 second mark, not the Boss 429 NASCAR engine. Everything is different from the valve covers, the air filter (the Boss air filter was a gasketed blue colored, functional ram air filter that had a visible cable from the scoop to the dash so the driver could close the scoop on cold days.) You can see a real Boss 429 engine and air filter at 2:35.
There is also no oil cooler in the Wick car that the Boss needed to cool the radical engine. You can see an oil filter in a real Boss 429 at 2:42.
There appears to be a battery in the right rear of the engine bay, but the Boss didn't have enough room left so it has a huge 125 amp/hr. battery in the trunk.
The real Boss 429 has its front shock towers moved to accommodate the Boss engine but they are not found in the Wick car. They are impossible to miss and you can see them at 2:34.
The original Boss 429 had a rear sway bar that can be seen below the rear differential. I could not see one in the Wick car, and even if one was installed, it did not bend below the differential.
The original Boss 429 had staggered rear shocks, but you can't see this here or in the movie.
The original Boss 429 did not have a rear wing spoiler.
The original Boss 429 gas cap was black in the center with a chrome Mustang, not the one on the Wick car.
There is quite a bit more, but I'll stop here. Well, except for the sound that the Boss 429 makes. Yeah, it's an American V8, but it has a distinctive sound. (BTW, this was all from memory.)
OK, it's clearly not a real Boss 429, but I love the Hitman Mustang in the Wick movies and the John Wick movies. I think that there were 5 Hitman Mustangs (heavily modified Mustang Mach 1s), which is not surprising considering all of the abuse they went through in making the film. I've owned 4 Classic Mustangs, 2 1970 coupes and 1 70' fastback mock Mach 1 (351 W, AT) and a 69' Mach 1 (351 C w, Hurst 4 spd). I was so lucky they were inexpensive back in the 1980's, now I can't afford anything other than a non-running rustbucket...Those were glorius days!❤

That was NOT a Boss 429 in the John Wick movies😂 it was a ‘69 mustang, but NOT a Boss 429. A Boss 429 Mustang is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars these days because of their rarity. This video is so fake it’s not even funny🙄

Nothing but clickbait. BS about a BS car. It was not a B9. At best it is a Mach 1. Carroll Shelby said it best: You can stick a candle in a cowpie but that doesn't make it a birthday cake.
