@@DiggingCanuck no no no Liz! THANK YOU 😃
Let me know if you are thinking of trying electrolysis on your relics
I have done it. Got good results.
I'll try one day 👍
Thanks for the tutorial Liz. That trickle charger seems like a safe item to purchase.
I feel a lot safer using it
@@DiggingCanuck Could you send a link to which one you purchased from Amazon, if possible.
@@metaldetectingbrooklyn9896 Here is the one I bought: www.amazon.ca/HOYOA-Automatic-Household-Motorcycle-Automotive/dp/B07GBXJNWG/ref=mp_s_a_1_31?dchild=1&keywords=12+volt+trickle+charger&qid=1633217472&sr=8-31
@@DiggingCanuck Thanks
Seems simple enough to give it a go. Nice video. Thanks for the info. We have a few relics laying around that I might try this on. 🤙
Seriously... If I can do it, you can too !!!
Great video! I set mine up just for some of our magnet fishing finds. Used it quite a few times know. Love it!! Cool to see as well.
It's an easy way to preserve relics.
Thank you so much Liz. I was always scared to do this. But you made it look so easy to do. I can't wait to try to do this myself.
I had those same fears !!!
Excellent tutorial Liz!!! One hundred thumbs up!!!
THANK YOU Paul !!
Very well explained.
Thanks Stig 😁
Thanks, Liz, for sharing. I have been thinking about doing this to some of my finds.
Take Care👍👍
I was apprehensive too, but it is easy !!
Awesome👍thats how i clean mine!
Trickle chargers can be picked up at harbor freight for a few bucks👍
Nice video for thoes who never tried it👍👍....great on relics but would not recommend doing it on silver coins it could dammage them.
Thanks for watching
Great video. Very easy to understand.👍🏻
Thank you Jon !
Thank you soo much Liz !
You are very welcome !!
Great tutorial Liz. I have been thinking of doing it, and I'm one step closer since I've got the same red and white toothbrush as you.
Happy hunting. 😊
Hahaha !!!
Awesome video! Funny you posted this, I setup my tank for the first time last night!
That's awesome!
@@DiggingCanuck yea! I have a possible (most likely based on style) trade axe!
@@TheFinderGuy Very cool !!!
Pretty cool! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Rachael ! 😁
Awesome! Good tutorial! :D
Thank you - much appreciated
Good stuff Liz!
Thanks Jeremi 😊
Always thought about doing it. Might have to now haha
Wonderful !!
Thanks for taking us through the process of electrolysis, just like yourself i started off with a mobile phone charger but quickly moved on to a 12v 2amp power supply and use ether salt or lemon juice. Great Tutorial Liz Thank you 👍😀 Tony
Thank you very much Tony !!!
That is one of the best electrolysis videos I have seen. Very informative and good helpful hints regarding the carcinogens.
THANK YOU !! It was aimed at beginners and I tried to make it as easy as possible !!!
awesome tutorial liz, spot on with the instructions!
THANK YOU !!!
thanks Liz been wanting to try this for a while you just jump started my ambition again!!!!!
Wonderful. It's not as difficult as some make it out to be. Good luck and send me a pic of your completed results :)
Hi Liz, thanks for the lesson, very clear ! Take care. 😊😷👍
Thank you Sylviane 😁
Great video liz, i seen others do this but yours is much simpler, i may do this to an old hammer head i found, thanks again
That would be a good item to start on. Let me know how it turns out 😊
Thank you for making this video. It was very informative & easy to follow.
You are very welcome. For years I thought electrolysis was too difficult to attempt so I lost a lot of relics. It is actually very simple. Let me know how things go for you 😊
Nice tutorial Liz!
THANK YOU !!
Your relics turned out great! One thing I learned a lesson on though. You never clean your rusty metal in your good sink, you will have trouble!
Yes...I used the utility sink.....😉😉😉
Thanks for the info
Thanks for stopping by 😊
Hey you thought us how to clean a relic in this video the best part was the Scooby-Doo clip
Thanks Tyler. Scooby is the best :)
@@DiggingCanuck I know Liz my grade 6 teacher loved Scooby-Doo when he was a kid and he put some Scooby-Doo doo movies on in class my grade 6 teachers name is Greg Greening
I like the narration on this video. Great job Liz.
Thank you !! Much appreciated.
Hi Liz , just thought i would pop over and see what's going on 😁 , nice work with the Electrolysis , good info my friend ATB Rob 👍
Thank you Robbie. Just started doing electrolysis and I have a TON of relics from the last 5 years !!! Appreciate you stopping by :)
Thanks for a informative video. Never done this before. I'll try one day
Wonderful - very easy !!!
Hey Liz. 👋🏻😃 What a great job!! The relics look great and you’ve now made me want to get electrolysis-ing!! 😂 TC, GL&HH. 🇬🇧 ⚡️⚡️ 🇨🇦 Deano. 😃👍🏻
It's soo easy :) Liberate some relics from their accumulated rust !!!
Did it last night Liz and oh my!! Doing more today!! 😃👍🏻
@@DeanoDetects Fantastic !!
That’s awesome rite on Liz !
Thank you Jay !!!
Muito bom grande amiga Liz!!!!! A restauração com eletrólise é muito boa!!!!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Great video demo & explanation of electrolysis !
I had previously been afraid of doing electrolysis, but figured that if I can do it, so can all of you !!!
Very informative thanks for a great video!
Glad you enjoyed it Noah !!! I tried to break it down to basics 😃
Good work Liz
Yes !!!
I'm thinking about using electrolysis on me 😀. Someone please let me know when the bubbles stop? Super video LIz!
You will be regenerated when the bubbles stop !!!
Hi Liz thanks for a nice video. Ive done electrolysis before with mostly good results. I was wondering what type of steel wire you are using. I’ve been using galvanized 19 gauge steel wire but am wondering if there is a better choice.
Hey Mark, I'm using 20 gauge wire from the Dollar Store. I'm told the secret is to have metal to metal, in that you may have to file the rust on the relic to expose a bare metal spot on which to wind the wire :) Thank you very much for stopping by and commenting :)
@@DiggingCanuck awesome thank you!
That was a great video Liz. I still have not tried this
I lost a doozie buckle because I let it sit for 2 years and sadly rusted away. Not going to happen again. The process is super easy :)
Liz u r Awesome
:) if I can do electrolysis then anyone can :)
Trickle chargers have an auto stop when a battery is full or not connected right so mite stop the current. Best use the old battery chargers
I purchased a battery charger for my large scale electrolysis bit haven't tried it yet.
I didn't even know i needed this ahhahaha.
Can I do this on my moms old silver tea set? I have a metal plate I put in water with baking soda, but no power.
@@BramptonGardener I would use a very gentle liquid polish...
Good information which I hope demystifies the process
I'm thinking about it...but that doesn't make it happen...for some reason😁😁👍🇨🇦🤘
Hahaha
Does this process work on any type of metal including copper and bronze objects?
Electrolysis will work to a certain extent on all metals. However, I have only used it on iron objects. You can always experiment or consult a professional.
Thank you, I will try it😃
bro dont do electrolysis on copper or bronze they dont
get rusty...water can be poisonous if u use copper wires in electolysis
Thank you
You're welcome. I tried to make it as easy as possible.
If not stainless steel, what metal specifically is safe?
This is the second time I stumbled on your channel
Any metal except Stainless....
I use those steel angle brackets
Don't use chrome or galvanized metal @@DiggingCanuck
Now I want to find an old axe and try this out on it!!
YES !!!! It is soo easy.... I was always intimidated but not anymore !!!
Also, if you use steel aligator clips and they're touching the water during the process, the positive clip will dissolve along with your sacrificial metal. Don't ask me how I know... :D
Good tip. I have seen people put the leads in the water but I dont think that is a good idea.
Ça porte bonheur le faire à cheval
Oui. Ça s'est bien passé. Le fer à cheval était très fin - a dû être utilisé très longtemps !!!
My object is magnetized change alter that
Meaning can electolosys change the magnetic qualities?
@@CrispySkates My iron did not become magnetized.
