I haven't experienced the rattles yet but this vid will help if that time ever comes. Very informative. Also I think the word you were looking for was splines for the wiper arms.
VERY detailed tutorial, much appreciated. Hope it fixed your rattles. I'm doing this myself tomorrow thanks to you, but just disconnecting and leaving it in.
@@bicecream88 I actually ended up removing it completely but removing it or not removing it should have no effect in theory. What matters is AT LEAST unplugging it. I don't notice a huge difference but I also don't miss it whatsoever. Hope that helps.
No need to remove wiper arms or cowl panel. Pop the 4 plastic rivets, lift the cowl panel up, and go in with a long pick or radiator tool to unplug the connector. A flashlight is needed and can be used to prop the cowl panel up far enough to get in there. 🍻
Had issues like this on my GTI. Sometimes it’s the vibration between the generator and the metal mounting plate that comes through the speaker as loud vibration. A small 3M piece of sticky foam pad or a felt washer between the nut and mounting plate dampened it and it was all good again .
I'm lazy ... any chance just reaching up and pulling the connector without disassembling? If not, a good detailed way to stop the noise! I assume there is no amplified sound coming through the audio system like in past Velosters?
No you can't just reach in for the connector. You can unclip the plastic and get your hand in there not having to remove the whippers. It does not go to the stereo system.
Did removing the sound generator solve your rattling problem? Today I just noticed a rattle while in N or sport mode, seemed to be coming from the mirror. I would imagine the sound generator is just a bass shaker, so maybe it's vibrating the windshield too much?
Kind of a long video. But if you just wish to unplug the sound generator you don't have to remove the wipers, take all the screws out and small plastic pieces at the corners. Wiggle the big plastic piece out a little bit, lift, shove your hand in there and unplug
@@n-fullsend1889 the thing that plugs into the sound generator. I yanked on the cable instead of unplugging it the proper way (rushed it) and the adapter was still in the sound generator and i ripped the cable
Thanks for the tutorial! Finally did it to my 2021 VN. Sounds so much better without it, and my dashcam finally stopped rattling
Glad it helped. Thanks for the support!
My dash above my Speedo start slightly rattling today I hope this fixes it!!

Thanks man I appreciate your support! Yeah they are splines, I forget words sometimes when making videos hahahaha
Just used your video to accomplish this. Thank you.
Not a problem. Hope it was detailed enough

Hi Slowflight, by leaving it in, is your rattle completely gone?

Yes that will definitely work, though I had to show the proper way to do it. I'm all about short cuts though.
Thanks man! Just deleted it without any problems.
Nice homie! Hope it was detailed enough.
thank you so much for this detailed video!
No problem, glad I could help!

That's pretty good feedback! Even if it's a different car. It maybe as simple as that. I appreciate it homie
There's bird poop man!! Dang it... dang birds 😄😄 LOL. Great video bro
Thanks for the support homie
@@n-fullsend1889 of course bro. Thanks for info

Is this the rattle one experiences on 3-4 gear. It’s very minute the rattle. But driving this car daily you notice the smallest changes in tone
It very well could be. However i noticed it in between all gear shifts when the rpms where at around 4-5 k

I dont notice my mirror vibrating anymore to be honest so must have worked.
Any error on dashboard? after disconnection.
No, it is not tide to the ECU at all.

Yeah I was asked to do it. So just showing how. But that lamp switch though hahahaha
@@n-fullsend1889 yes, your video helped me figure out how to get to it so Thanks!

Why is it there? What does this sound generator do?
It basically amplifies the engine vibrations into the cabin of the car so it sounds louder.
@@n-fullsend1889 so fake car sounds like bmw?
