A “successful” season for the Pistons is interesting. On one hand, for the players, seeing more wins would be good for development, chemistry, and things like that. On the other hand, they’re also not good enough yet to compete for a playoff spot, so winning more games theoretically gives them a worse pick in the draft. However, with their draft history, the Pistons getting a lower lotto pick (8-14) could also work in their favor, meaning that it may force them to rely less on talent and find a player with high upside that actually fits the needs of the roster. So I think winning more than 25 games is a huge success, but they don’t wanna have like 35, because that most likely puts them outside that top 8-9. If they win less than 20 games though, that’s also a huge failure without showing any tangible on court improvements from a team perspective and not individually

Brunson, Bridges, OG, Hart, Randle would still be good defensively, and the rebounding would be fine because Hart and Randle are both great rebounders for their position. As for the Nuggets, the loss of KCP plus what we've seen from Murray has me very concerned. Even if Murray is great, there are still clear issues. Losing KCP means a bench player has to start, which makes their depth, which already sucked, even worse. Also, their 3pt volume was already near the bottom of the league. While the nuggets did lose KCP the rest of the starting lineup will be fine because of Jokic, Murray, & MPJ. Knicks even with Thibs injuring his entire starting 5 got to 50 wins. If mitch can play 50 games and be healthy for the playoffs, they can get 55+ wins. Though I won't be so reactionary and hate on that BR prediction, assuming they think they get destroyed by injuries again. It can happen, and Thibs is gonna play each of his starting 5 like 45 minutes a game each.
nobody on the team last year was in the top 10 in min per game, both randle and brunson averaged 35 mpg which is very normal for your star players. guys had to play a lot down the stretch because of injuries that were freak accidents such robinson landing on someones foot or randle getting undercut by someone trying to take a charge but lets just run with the narratives and not do the 5 seconds of research required to not look dumb

Try and grab a top 5 pick this next summer and probably the summer after that. Celtics, I think they still win 60+. Still the favorites in the East. Nets, I can see that total. 19-25 is the right range. Hornets, if they get LeMelo to be healthy, I think 30-35 wins. If not, probably 20-25 wins. Bulls...15-20 wins. I think this is a team trying to get bad so they can get a couple of lottery picks if possible. Cavs...48-52 wins. Dallas, I think is a 55+ win team. Possibly close to 60 wins. Nuggets, 50+ wins. Any team with Nikola Jokic has to be respected. I don't think they will be as good though. Pistons...if they crack 20 wins... successful season. They are a better looking team than last season. Should be a little bit better and more consistent if they can keep some of these young guys healthy. Warriors, I think barely 40 wins. While they do have an intriguing mix, I think not having Klay Thompson still is going to hurt them. Rockets...42-45 wins I think is a good range. I can't right now put them higher. Pacers...50-54 wins is where I see them. A full year of Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton. To me, they are the 4th seed in the East if Boston, New York and Philly stay 1-3. Clippers - 30 wins. I don't see them being good at all. They lost Paul George and Russell Westbrook. They lost a few good role players from the bench. They will need to make a move to get any better than this in my book. Lakers. 35-40 wins. I can't see them doing any better. They didn't improve in any significant way. Grizzlies, I think... maybe 35-45 wins...if Ja Morant stays on the court. If not, 20 wins. If it gets as bad as it looked at times under Doc Rivers last season, the Bucks might be a 30 win team. If they can get things on track, this is a team capable still of being a 50+ win team. Pelicans...25 wins if they don't have good health. 50 wins if they do. Can Zion, Brandon and CJ stay on the court? Talent wise, they are a top 6 team in the west with Dallas, Minnesota, OKC, Denver and Sacramento, but if they aren't healthy...it is the draft lottery. Knicks - 55-58 wins is where I see them. Assuming health, like anyone of course. But this is a very dangerous team with the depth to address the big man issue during the season. OKC - I think might be at 60 wins as well. Just too good. Going from Josh Giddey to Alex Caruso and then adding Hartenstein to an already damn good team, I just see them as one of the two favorites to come out of the West with Dallas. Magic - 45-52 wins is where I see them. They are a good team, but I can't yet put them into the upper escalon of the league. Philly - 55-58 wins if healthy, 42-45 if they aren't. Embiid and George have to play at least 55-65 games. If they are down in the 40's on games played for both of them or worse, Philly is in trouble. On paper, they rival the Celtics in terms of danger in the East. Can they match this on the court? I don't know. Suns - 48-53 is the range I see for them. The depth I still see as an issue. Blazers - I think 10-15 wins is where they will be. Kings - 50-54 wins is where I see them. Loaded West or not, they have their core 7 guys from last season and DeRozan added to the Roster. They improved in big ways on the defensive end. Spurs - 25-30 wins. Raptors - 20-25 wins Utah 25-30 wins Wizards 15-20 wins. I don't think they will be as bad as Portland, but because they are likely to trade Kuzma and Brogdon at some point to get more youth and picks, I think they won't be far ahead of Portland. If Jordan Poole shows signs of life, the way he started to do so once Wes Unseld was gone, they might even be a little better than this. Because while they don't have a good team, they have at least a competent team in places they didn't last season.
I doubt it. Curry regression on offense possibly and Buddy Hield doesn't show up. Plus Draymond and GP2 are your best defenders and are always out with injuries/suspensions. You might be a play in/ first round exit.

While the Celtics at 56-26 seems odd after 64-18 and a championship, but that still gives them the best record in the B-R 2024-25 season. They seem to have gone very conservative on the likely and potential top teams, with Denver and OKC next at 55-27 and the Sixers second in the East at 52-30.
Knicks even with Thibs injuring his entire starting 5 got to 50 wins. If mitch can play 50 games and be healthy for the playoffs, they can get 55+ wins. Though I won't be so reactionary and hate on that BR prediction, assuming they think they get destroyed by injuries again. It can happen, and Thibs is gonna play each of his starting 5 like 45 minutes a game each.
nobody on the team last year was in the top 10 in min per game, both randle and brunson averaged 35 mpg which is very normal for your star players. guys had to play a lot down the stretch because of injuries that were freak accidents such robinson landing on someones foot or randle getting undercut by someone trying to take a charge but lets just run with the narratives and not do the 5 seconds of research required to not look dumb

As a nuggets fan, I think if we're going to win another chip we have to trust jokic and murray enough to keep the starters afloat. Then trade a guy for more depth. Unfortunately I think it would have to be mpj cause I think AG Is slightly harder to replace, so trade mpj for reliable shooters off the bench and let jokic and murray dominate. Also cautiously optimistic about russ. Think playing with jokic is his best chance of making an impact in the league

I can see them being bad enough to only win 20 games. Yeah, the mix last season didn't work. But they still lost a damn good player and didn't replace him with anyone else who is a star level player. I can see the Hawks trading Trae Young this season. This is where I look at Miami and wonder if this is who they will finally strike after. Because the Hawks are a team needing to embrace a full rebuild. Try and grab a top 5 pick this next summer and probably the summer after that.
Celtics, I think they still win 60+. Still the favorites in the East.
Nets, I can see that total. 19-25 is the right range.
Hornets, if they get LeMelo to be healthy, I think 30-35 wins. If not, probably 20-25 wins.
Bulls...15-20 wins. I think this is a team trying to get bad so they can get a couple of lottery picks if possible.
Cavs...48-52 wins.
Dallas, I think is a 55+ win team. Possibly close to 60 wins.
Nuggets, 50+ wins. Any team with Nikola Jokic has to be respected. I don't think they will be as good though.
Pistons...if they crack 20 wins... successful season. They are a better looking team than last season. Should be a little bit better and more consistent if they can keep some of these young guys healthy.
Warriors, I think barely 40 wins. While they do have an intriguing mix, I think not having Klay Thompson still is going to hurt them.
Rockets...42-45 wins I think is a good range. I can't right now put them higher.
Pacers...50-54 wins is where I see them. A full year of Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton. To me, they are the 4th seed in the East if Boston, New York and Philly stay 1-3.
Clippers - 30 wins. I don't see them being good at all. They lost Paul George and Russell Westbrook. They lost a few good role players from the bench. They will need to make a move to get any better than this in my book.
Lakers. 35-40 wins. I can't see them doing any better. They didn't improve in any significant way.
Grizzlies, I think... maybe 35-45 wins...if Ja Morant stays on the court. If not, 20 wins. I just think they have some issues to still work through this season and Ja Morant and his behavior, is still going to be a serious question mark.
Miami - 35-40 wins. They didn't do anything to improve and many of the teams in the East improved or at least won't be as bad as they were. Bam and Jimmy are both great players, but they need a really good point guard. Someone who offensively can be the 3rd head of the monster and who can space the floor.
Bucks...45-50 wins...unless Doc Rivers just destroys the franchise. If it gets as bad as it looked at times under Doc Rivers last season, the Bucks might be a 30 win team. If they can get things on track, this is a team capable still of being a 50+ win team.
Pelicans...25 wins if they don't have good health. 50 wins if they do. Can Zion, Brandon and CJ stay on the court? Talent wise, they are a top 6 team in the west with Dallas, Minnesota, OKC, Denver and Sacramento, but if they aren't healthy...it is the draft lottery.
Knicks - 55-58 wins is where I see them. Assuming health, like anyone of course. But this is a very dangerous team with the depth to address the big man issue during the season.
OKC - I think might be at 60 wins as well. Just too good. Going from Josh Giddey to Alex Caruso and then adding Hartenstein to an already damn good team, I just see them as one of the two favorites to come out of the West with Dallas.
Magic - 45-52 wins is where I see them. They are a good team, but I can't yet put them into the upper escalon of the league.
Philly - 55-58 wins if healthy, 42-45 if they aren't. Embiid and George have to play at least 55-65 games. If they are down in the 40's on games played for both of them or worse, Philly is in trouble. On paper, they rival the Celtics in terms of danger in the East. Can they match this on the court? I don't know.
Suns - 48-53 is the range I see for them. The depth I still see as an issue.
Blazers - I think 10-15 wins is where they will be.
Kings - 50-54 wins is where I see them. Loaded West or not, they have their core 7 guys from last season and DeRozan added to the Roster. They improved in big ways on the defensive end.
Spurs - 25-30 wins.
Raptors - 20-25 wins
Utah 25-30 wins
Wizards 15-20 wins. I don't think they will be as bad as Portland, but because they are likely to trade Kuzma and Brogdon at some point to get more youth and picks, I think they won't be far ahead of Portland. If Jordan Poole shows signs of life, the way he started to do so once Wes Unseld was gone, they might even be a little better than this. Because while they don't have a good team, they have at least a competent team in places they didn't last season.
