I replace mines 8 months ago, all I did was use a thicker battery, that way the battery won't be loose inside and so far it still works and can be replace easily

Changed my first battery today, I broke the solder attaching the arm to the pcb, just like you told us not to do.... Oops... Soldered it back on and it works fine. I feel like I got lucky there because I'm pretty shit at soldering.
Hey guys! You can use the old pen trick if you don't have the screw driver! Just take the middle art of the pen out (the part with the metal and ink) carefully heat it up a little and when the tip is flexible press it against the screw and hold it until it hardens again Then you can use that to unscrew the screw. Hope that helps!
But then the screw will be filled out with plastic and you can’t use the screw anymore, for exemple put it back in again. You are forced to change the screw afterwards. I wouldn’t recommend that
Those bootleg gen 3 cartridges you find on Etsy and Ebay are 99% likely to ship with a dead battery. But the bootleggers made a nasty change to the ROM of one that I got, so instead of saying the typical message, it says "The internal battery working properly. The game can be played." I can't believe I didn't realize it until I noticed that berries refused to grow, no matter how long I waited...

Oh cool you actually replied :D To be honest I've never had that issue currently although I have no idea of how long the stickiness effectiveness lasts, although its been about nearly half a year or so for some of my games and I haven't really had an issue. I guess i'll find out the hard way when the battery disconnects and I lose my save data ;(

I tried to replace the battery on my japanese cartridge of Animal Forest (called Animal Crossing in english speaking countries), but i think the solder on the prongs was more delicate and the top broke off, and i cant lift the battery on it because a resistor is in the way. most of my problems are just the difference in cartridge i think. thank you for the tutorial though!
Oscar Rojas No the residue will mess with connections. And will also leave residue after removal. Just use the putty stuff, or play for that works too. Basically anything that's a rubber putty

no it's the battery that keeps the clock running so if it dies you can still play just any clock based things wont happen

I just go to my local Retro Shop and pay $5 to replace it.
I had to do this on my Pokémon silver cartridge I just ended up using scotch tape on it to hold it in place and the case basically holds it in place

Yellow : topaz
