Snipes' Blade would work great only in a team up with Leto's Morbius and Cage's Ghost Rider - the amount of cringe and weirdly cool style would be pure gold!
Unless he's rehabilitated, Snipes is too crazy to work with Marvel. The guy tanked his own career when he was the star of some of the biggest action movies of the 90s/2000s.
@@MistaZULE Dude’s definitely got an ego, but with all of the multiverse stuff, I feel like Marvel could use him in a limited capacity. Fans would lose it.
Good video. I was wondering why I haven't seen Ali in movies recently. Guy is a star and I think Marvel is actively destroying his career by keeping him out of other projects. This more than anything is making me dislike to outright hate Marvel. They scoop up the best in the industry and then can't even get the movie off the ground? Terrible management from the whole studio. Blade should have been a slam dunk and made them so much money but they can't even begin filming.
@@MistaZULE I’m thinking they put the project on the back foot from the beginning by shooting for a PG-13 rating. I’m not usually fond of this opinion, but I think it’s obvious that Blade needs to be R. I think they’ve already switched gears in that regard, and to be fair, other than the first Ant-Man, this is the only other property Marvel’s mismanaged to this degree.
@@NerdonFilm yeah, a PG 13 Blade movie doesn't make sense. I'm of the opinion it should have been a horror/action film and leaned heavily into the violence to make something new. They have a star leading man and with a good writer and horror based director (James Wan?) it would have been an exciting new film to add to the Marvel library. Ant Man also was a huge failure and, although not Marvel, but still Disney, the Han Solo film was also plagues with executive interference. Disney really seems to be afraid of shaking things up with their formula at the detriment of their actors, directors, writers and ultimately, their fans.
@@MistaZULE I think they’ve been showing a willingness to try new things lately. Even though it wasn’t good, Echo was TV-MA and Deadpool and Wolverine is rated R and trading on films that aren’t part of the MCU.
It shouldn’t be this difficult to make a Blade movie at all. I’m by no means saying it should be easy at all, but it’s a pretty straightforward property, considering the type of character Blade IS.
Well considering the events of the Deadpool and Wolverine movie, it's safe to say Wesley Snipe's blade is ready to be called cause he's probably wandering universe 10005 right now if his old universe get ripped by Paradox as what he said Paradox was going to do before he got sent into the void. But considering how long he was in that place, his universe might really not be around anymore.
The first half of Luke Cage was fantastic. Cottonmouth was intimidating without being over the top about it. then they removed him and gave us Copperhead which wasn't nearly as good as Cottonmouth. Quiet, calculating and reserved are traits I think fit villains better who are weaker than their heroic counterparts (Lex Luthor being a good example).
4:00 Ryan Reynolds basically said the same thing and also stated he would never work with Snipes again. Ryan is one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. I will leave it at that.
Nope in a new interview with Westley snipes he admitted they’re actually really cool with each other bro. He’s in the new Deadpool movie playing as blade😂
@@NerdonFilmit was based on a comic. I think it's an Image property but yeah that movie did not put respect on comic book movies. Blade may possibly be the most important comic book movie ever made. Even more than Batman and Spiderman.
Yes Meteor Man was the first black superhero on the big screen. Spawn was the first black marvel superhero on the big screen and then Steel 15 days later. As far as the first black superhero in live action period that would have to go to The Black Power Ranger(1993).
Seems MCU wants to exclude Wesley but Deadpool&Wolverine came to remind Disney/Marvel that Snipes is the MAN still! One more Blade then pass it to Ali!
BLADE and SPAWN are still dope azz movies I can watch and still enjoy myself.. can't say the same for 90% of DC movies of 50% of MCU movies. mo money doesn't equal mo quality.. it just equals mo burnt paper.. especially if you dont make sure it has a proper script
I could careless what other people say about his character flaws, who doesn't have them? I'd still prefer to see him back in the saddle, it's like the roll was made for him, perfect fit.
They could do a Logan-esque movie where it is a loose sequel, soft reboot where they have snipes play blad and do flashbacks using CGI but fast forward like 100 years where Blade is dealing with mutants in a wasteland or trying to help the remaining X-men. It would be difficult to incorporate aging in the context of a vampire though, but because he is part human I think it could work. We can all agree that, like Keaton as Batman, everyone who plays Blade will be compared to Snipes.
Should have had Ali, behind Deadpool and Wolverine, in the cameo, then shimmer, out of sight, as they sense, he's there, and turn their heads. Blade could then have said, "or is there, only one"?
Just like Michael c Hall was born to play dexter, Wesley snipes was also born to play blade some characters cannot be replaced, leave it alone Hollywood try to come up with something new something fresh
Oddly enough, your first statement was correct. Black Panther was the first Black Marvel comics superhero released. Blade was the first Black Marvel character movie release.
Give Snipes some creative control and a tiny share of its box office revenue, pair him up with a director he likes, let him approve an overall script and lets let this thing roll. Give him the credit or the blame and control to be responsible for it and I think he will make sure it's what he wants to put forward....he will want to make something to be proud of like Cavil and the first season of the Witcher.
There’s no Blade without Snipes. And to be honest, there isn’t an actor out there with the same amount of charisma, bravado and testosterone level to even come close.
Disagree Wesley is a real life martial artist which is what made his fight sequences top tier Ali cannot top that if they were ever to release Ali Blade his fight sequences would be simply on actor level.
I agree, I was gonna say Michael J White. (Although he may be too old now) Maaan he's such a likable guy on& off the camera ....idk why Hollywood won't work with him
They should bring Wesley Snipes as Blade and filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro(Blade2) for a new Blade movie and tell Disney to let them tell the story of Blade . Disney has to realize, Blade is NOT a "Twilight" character.
Don't forget the cheesey Meoter Man & Blank Man movies! But at least they are my guilty pleasures! Steel & Cat Woman was a hot mess! But l did like Hancock & Spawn though!😊
Snipes already reprised his roll in Deadpool & Wolverine. So, sense Snipes is already on the payroll, I guess we'll have to see if Marvel takes that as a que to run with it or not.
Early people on the project leaked the script and showed why people kept quitting, Disney was trying to make Blade a side character in his own movie, trying to figure out how to make him gay and have some kind of message for female empowerment. Ya know the thing blade comic fans care about.
I stand with on Snipes on not wanting to work on that trainwreck, so then they blackballed him because he knew it was going to ruin his career and the franchise while grifters wanted to benefit from it. Then rumors are saying they want to make Blade gay...

I bought it after seeing the other movies with no idea how it was because I loved the franchise.
IMO, the Blade series as well as The Punisher was the real beginning of Marvel Cinema. I feel like The Punisher with Thomas Jane doesn't get enough credit.
Sometimes MFers have to accept that the success of a film franchise lies in its lead actor. Snipes was/is Blade. How about this write a simple, but classic film, where Snipes is the wise mentor (a la' Whistler-Kristofferson) to Ali's Blade Jr.. Literally A.I. couldn't write a better screen play.
The new Blade film should hire a young, actor/martial artist to play Blade. Such an actor could carry the new Blade film forward into the future for sequels.
Nah… I’d rather them end it with Westley. Even if they have to kill blade off and just give him a kid or something to continue the franchise and go from there. Logan tried to do that but now it doesn’t make sense because he’s in the new Deadpool movie
The smartest move Marvel could make (so they won't) is just allow a What If? Film with Wesley Snipes, Nicholas Cage & Thomas Jane. Let's have Blade, Ghost Rider & the Punisher, respectively. A Midnight Sons for the old comic and film fans. Which again, they will never do...
Honestly I don't believe anyone saying this movie is going forward. They don't share anything about the movie because they have nothing. Let Mahershala move on and give the role back to Snipes. I have never seen Mahershala as a physically intimidating presence and there have been no stills showing him bulked up and ready to roll. Snipes looked every bit the part still in Deadpool & Wolverine so I think it behooves Marvel to give the fans SOMETHING.
Re. Blade : "Blade was a smashing success earning 131M off a budget of 45M " Re. Blade Trinity : "earning a mere 132M worldwide" .... 🤔 Blade Trinity's budget was 65M, so yes Blade made more money overall. ... but I wouldn't call a movie doubling its budget with "little marketing" a disaster.
@@gost3480 Sequels are expected to make exponentially more money, and with Trinity I wasn’t just referencing its financial take; it was also critically and culturally reviled. @@matthewnicholas6365 Notice I never mention my own thoughts on Trinity in the video. It’s been awhile since I’ve watched it, and even though it’s the worst one, I still think it’s pretty fun.
The fact that Ryan Reynolds specifically requested Mr Snipes to reprieve his role in the new Deadpool does somewhat suggest that there wasn't bad blood between the actors.

That was twenty years ago though and the positions of power have changed. I’m sure they patched things up enough to do business together at least.
@NerdonFilm another suggestion - Donald Glover? Blade should be 40 or under IMO. Also needs to be physically fit and able to at least look like they can fight.
It's because Wesley Snipes did not really want to do Blade 3 but he had to do that because of the situation of him having a discrepancy with Stan Lee with blade 1 and 2. When he did blade 1 and 2 that was Wesley Snipe Productions he didn't give Stanley anything.

Isn’t he like 50 now? Dude had his time. Let it go.
@@Werewolf.with.Internet.Access I think he’s in his 60’s actually.
He's too old
It seems from watching the video, that the saying, "Too many cooks in the kitxhen", seems appropriate of why Blade is in development hell.
@@CyberDragonEX13 I agree; though I think Copperhead was cool too.

Bring back Mr. Snipes 😊

They should bring Wesley Snipes as Blade and filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro(Blade2) for a new Blade movie and tell Disney to let them tell the story of Blade . Disney has to realize, Blade is NOT a "Twilight" character.
