Thanks for the chance! This would definitely upgrade our studio setup for recording and gameplay!
My 15 year old daughter has been writing and performing her own songs. I’d like to build her a home recording studio using the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (4th gen) to inspire her to keep going and start learning how to record her brilliant songs.
what a great dad!
This is amazing! As a college student, I’ve been afraid to make big purchases, but this would be a game changer for recording my music, because I don’t have any interfaces to use external mics with. I’m stuck using the inbuilt mic in my MacBook. Thank you so much for doing this giveaway!
Great review, Matt! I've been making music on and off for a while, but it was mostly just me messing around in whatever free DAW i could get my hands on at the time. Recently though, I've been trying to get more seriously into music production and I'm currently working on my first bedroom studio setup. So far my gear is just a laptop, FL Studio, and some headphones, and all i really need now is an audio interface to get recording. Winning this would help greatly as right now i don't have a ton of disposable income to buy gear. Thanks for the opportunity!
Thats already more than I had when I was starting out! You can make a lot of great music with that setup.
The 4th gen Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is a popular audio interface that many musicians and producers love. It's known for its high-quality sound and user-friendly features. One of the main reasons people choose this interface is its exceptional audio performance. It offers pristine sound quality, low latency, and high-resolution audio recording capabilities.
With the Scarlett 2i2, you can connect your microphones, instruments, and other audio sources to your computer or recording software. It has two XLR/TRS combo inputs, which means you can record vocals and instruments simultaneously. This is perfect for capturing live performances or multi-track recordings.
The interface also has two balanced outputs, headphone output with its own volume control, which i really love and it also has a direct monitor switch. This allows you to monitor your recordings in real-time without any latency. You can easily adjust the levels and mix your audio right from the interface itself.
Another great feature of the Scarlett 2i2 that is absolutely amazing is that is its compatibility with both Mac and Windows operating systems. It connects to your computer via USB, making it easy to set up and use. Plus, it comes with Focusrite's renowned preamps, which provide clean and transparent sound for your recordings.
Overall, the 4th gen Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is a reliable and versatile audio interface that can help you achieve high-quality recordings. It's a popular choice among musicians and producers for its exceptional sound quality, user-friendly features, and compatibility with various systems and software.
To answer the question on why i want it will be because im an upcoming artist in my city and i wanted to use this to get better music quality and make everything sound better ❤️💯‼️
I need this one bad!!! the quality is so much higher and makes every process so much easier
Thanks for the review. What other essentials would you recommend for a beginner?
A decent mic and a pair of head phones or inexpensive audio monitors is all you really need. Assuming you have a computer to plug the interface into.....
I’ve been trying to find a way to record my guitar through my computer. This would change everything for me 🤘🙌 appreciate you doing this brother!
I have been looking at ths previous generations of the 2i2 and hadn't yet pulled the trigger. This would be just the thing to get some of the songs out of my head and out into the world.
Having this would give my a huge step forward in my music career as a guitarist and french horn player! Being able to record through a computer rather than using my phone would allow me make higher quality recordings and help me get my future recordings out into the world!
Thanks for making such a clear and straightforward review, Matt! I'm wondering if the 4i4 instead, but I'd love to accept this if I happen to win. Thanks again for the review and the opportunity!
Thank you! Good luck!
Been practicing more and more with music, definitely not a necessity by any means but this would absolutely be a crazy good upgrade
Being on a fixed income due to my health hasn't made it easy to get good equipment for a stream I want to start so this will be put to use asap. Thank you for the opportunity 🙏🏽 good luck everyone!
Great overview - this would be a great upgrade for my old interface, and guitars basses and my meager vocals will be plugged in!
Sounds great, Matt! Super stoked that I found your channel! Happy new year! 🎉
Happy new year!! I'm glad you found my channel as well! Let me know if there is any specific content you would like to see!
I've been very impressed with my 3rd gen 2i2 -- it's simple, but it suits my needs. The 4th gen looks like it'd be a bit of a learning curve, but definitely worth checking out!
Hey this was really cool and I’m just starting to get into recording so seeing this was really cool and gives me a baseline of what I want to look for
Great review! I’ve been looking into this one for about a week or so since my 3rd gen gave out and I need a new interface asap to record for my band
Glad I could help!
If i win this I would gift this to my boyfriend, hes a really great passionate guitarist. He's been wanting one of these for awhile to record and spread his talent.
w girlfriend
What a lucky guy!
I love your review! First attempt at a post didn't take. LOL. I am a senior in college in Music Technology. I work with Matchbook Learning with a professor teaching 4-5 graders at an Indianapolis area school the fundamentals of music creation tools, creation, sampling, etc. This interface would be something that I could offer to a student who has a desire to further their music talents and have a need for the device.
Very impressed with this. Especially with the GoXLR being discontinued.
I’d love to win the Scarlett. It would come in handy in getting all of these sick doom riffs recorded. Thanks!
I’d love to get this. I just started getting interested in recording and need a good interface. Thanks for the chance!
Just starting a home studio build to support my son’s budding interest in recording, and this would be an amazing addition.
I remember building my first setup in my parents basement when I was in high school! Good times!
So how can you sing and play guitar at the same time if you plug vocal mic into the back and guitar into the front if they cancel each other out ?
Thanks for the question! The inputs act independently of one another. So if you plug an instrument into input 1 on the front, it will only turn off the XLR input 1 on the back.
@@mattingramsound Thanks that’s good to know, I guessed as much but just a bit vague on the manual. So I wasn’t sure . Thanks again
Thank you for the excellent giveaway. My current
interface has some issues. I've wanted to replace it with one of these for some time. Good luck everyone!
Have Focusrite 2i2...works like a charm!! Need an upgrade!!
Thanks for the review! I would use this interface to learn the basics of home studio recording.
Hi Matt! This is awesome! I’m a country artist+songwriter in Nashville. My husband is a composer+guitarist. He already has a studio setup but I’ve been wanting to build my own little setup so I can record my own demos & vocals. Very cool. Good luck everyone!! 💘⚡️🤘🏽🎶🤠🎸🎤🎛️
Would love to have this I'm doing a school project on writing and recording my own music and this would really let me take it to the next level!
I have been dabbling on the idea of starting a podcast, so maybe I’ll use the interface to get started.
thanks for giving this opportunity!
if I win I’m giving it to my friend who’s been wanting to start recording, since I already have one! this would really help him out!
Very thoughtful of you!
Such an awesome giveaway! I’m a guitarist and am just starting to build a home studio to work on ambient and jazz-focused stuff. I don’t have an interface yet so this would seriously be life-changing for me. Best of luck to all!
Looking to upgrade home VO set up from USB to XLR. This would be a great start!
My Steinberg interface has so many problem it’s hard to record 💀
I would love to learn how to record and use an interface. Great giveaway !
I'd be working more on my new album with synth and electric guitar. This would be a blessing.
My son and I would love it as we are both learning to play guitar and pretty much just have guitars and no equipment
I’m working on putting a record together with my bass player, this would be a huge help in getting started!
I’m currently studying music industry and mixing, I’ve been looking into getting audio interfaces, but with the costs of colleges it’s been a bit of a struggle. This would help out tremendously.
I’m confused, how did you record 3 tracks, Vox, guitar, drum? And you said if you put something in the front the back I puts won’t work. So how do you plug in a XL R, and a 1/4”? I’m a complete beginner, so I’m sure I’m missing someting
It can't take input signals on the same channel from both the front and back at the same time. So the front gets priority. If you want it to get signal from the back, just unplug the cable from the front. I recorded each instrument separately.
My uses would be learning music recording, voice over and Joe Frank style audio theater, maybe podcasting.
I’m going to put it to use right away in my studio recording all the drops and voiceovers for the station I do audio work for
Love to record direct & add a mic in front of the amp to blend the two! Always interested in an upgrade 👀👀
That's a great idea!
Audio recording with my phone could certainly use an upgrade to the present!
What's the delay from playing to recording? Could I use this as a monitor for playing without disturbing everyone else in the house?
You can monitor directly off the input with zero latency.
I am in the process of a couple of music project. An indie folk project with my wife and one creating chillhop beats as a way to express some creativity. This would be amazing for these projects.
I have an over 10 year old scarlett that’s barely holding on, so this would be a great upgrade.
The idea get into music and have my own studio Would be work for me finally with this interface plug in my drums and learn how record it and may upload tracks on. And a great Christmas gift to myself 🤣 Thanks so much…
I would use this to help me with my post sound on future projects. I am in the pre planning for a film and this would help me out a ton. I have been looking at something like this to get .
Awesome. What kind of film are you making?
I would love to win this to upgrade my current setup and record my guitars and microphone even better!
I quit recording and touring 3 years ago to become the full-time sole caretaker for my mom who has Alzheimer's and is bedridden. So I would SO use it to get the creative juices flowing again, and keep myself from going completely batshit in solitude!
Sorry to hear about your situation, but it is great that you are taking care of your mom! It's never too late to get back into recording.
really love the focusrite stuff. definitely gotta upgrade from my solo though 😂
Dopeee 🔥! Would love this to start recording at home
I would love to win this to immensely improve the recording quality of my band's recordings. Fingers crossed I win.
What's the name of your band? Got anything online?
I lost my whole recording setup due to theft, just finally got another computer and all I need is some monitors and an interface so this would really make me happy if I won this giveaway. Fingers crossed 🤞
This would be an epic upgrade
Would love to switch from my boss katana USB recording to a DI neural DSP with the Scarlett!
I would love to use this to make some recordings of songs I write.
Mic up and record my newly acquired egnator VN-412 cab and make demos with my triple x 🤘
Great video! I can’t wait to cut some new vocal tracks!
Thank you!
Trying to put together a home studio so I can work from home and see my family more.
I’ve been wanting to make music by myself for years I had a homie who made music and had this exact interface I got used to it and now I have a mic but I need a interface, I bought one but when I checked it, it was broke.
I would love to have this to make more music with my guitar
An Audio Interface upgrade would be nice 😎
It would be perfect for my home studio im building. I've been short on money and currently saving for a laptop xd. This would save me a huge amount of money. Good luck everybody 🛸
As of 2 weeks ago my friend asked me to join a death metal project he wants to start, I have been trying to teach myself guitar for a little while now, and in present day I'm confident enough to start recording and pursue my dream of being an artist; I am perfectly fine with recording tracks on my phone, but I think this interface would be pretty helpful to learn and use. Butt enough of my pity story, GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!.
-Julian
Probably a step up from a cell phone, though phones are getting better and better....
I’ve been recording with just my phone microphone for a long time I would love to upgrade my sound quality to post higher quality videos 🔥🔥
I would use this interface to finally record some music. I have used bandlab for quite some time for some goofy songs, but this could help me reach the next level. Possibly even encourage me to use a real DAW (jk love you bandlab). Good luck everyone
I’d love to use it for recording
I’m just getting started
I have many songs I need to record. Fingers crossed 🤞
Hey Matt! Awesome video I would love to use this to record my first album and start making my dreams come true by recording I have a best friend who lives in a different country and this would change my life so I could record with him and send him clips of my guitar playing so we could make our album!
Thats the way people do it nowadays! The bassist I use for a lot of songs lives in a different state! Good luck
This would be awesome to win. I would actually use this to upgrade my Dj streaming set up. And being able to adjust it from the software is awesome. Then I could monitor it from my 2nd screen so I can fine tune my output so I am not clipping in OBS, instead of trying to reach under my laptop to dial in my gains.
It would go nice with the settings I have in OBS for my input channels from my mixer and mic.
Yeah, I think that is the coolest feature in the 4th gen.
Bro I want this so bad😂 I have an interface but it was a gift from a family member and isn’t very high quality😭 I’m recording myself and just bought a guitar and would like to start recording my guitar and this would make it so much easier 🙏🏽
This looks great!
Would work on recording a acoustic ep with my friends 🤘🏻
An interface is my next step. The phone recordings with my headphones close the phone are horrible!
Would love to upgrade my audio interface :)
well with the scarlett 2i2 i would be using it for my podcast that a Friend and I have been doing for almost a year. this device would help me so much with making the show sound so much better. The podcast is Nerdtaku podcast if you want to see what we talk about. its a movie/tv show review podcast. also great review can't wait to see more reviews in the future.
Thanks! I've thought of doing a podcast myself, but it seems like a hard market to break into. Good luck!
I have a Presonus interfaces now, would really love to upgrade to a Focusrite!!!
This will go into my remodeled studio
I want to win this so bad!
I am really interested in this one
I just come to the us and have no money yet to invest in gears and pursue my dream, hope I’ll win🔥
Watching Joshua Travis and UltraVioletRiot inspired me to at least get familiar with recording. Streaming on twitch seems like a pipe dream for me. But I might be something great!
Comment for giveaway! Thank you, gl!
I’d use this interface to record a demo and share my ideas with the world
i’m currently having to use band lab to record because i can’t afford an audio interface. i just wanna make music 😢
So sweet!
I’d upgrade my janky old interface that is always disconnecting
Hell yeah!
I would actually practice guitar so I stop sounding bad
Hey Man 😊 I'm a Drummer and Play other instruments for the purpose of writing songs... That's exactly what I'd be doing with it 😅💯
I've not recorded anything in over 16 years so this would really help me there.
Additionally, I'd love to use it to record videos on my phone for social media content. Not trying to be a professional influencer; I'd just like to post the occasional vid for my church 😎👍🏻✊🏻
It's never too late to get back into it!
It’s awesome!
Sweet!
I would gift it to my son, he is a drummer in his last year of high-school, and is really needing to improve his recording.
That's a pretty cool gift. Would have loved something like this from my dad when I was a kid!
I am a producer and really need one of these.
keep up the good work
I am a at home recording artist. I am a drummer and would love to record drums for my band Broken Vengeance🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥. Good luck everyone in this giveaway
I can really use this I wanna record music with my bro
