Excellent view of the tilt mechanism. I just got finished repairing the start system. Now it's time to work on the tilt system. That was the best video view of the tilt system I've seen. I have one main tool I need working on my I/O boat. It's a headlamp. I'm a transmitter technician and the headlamp is extremely important in dark transmitter rooms. There's not much darker than the engine compartment in a Mercruiser powered boat.
Wanted to say that the relay is identical to that which is used as the "slave solenoid" on the mercruiser. I bought one to fix my starting problem only to find out it was the starter circuit breaker. I ordered the circuit breaker but not the exact replacement so I had to drill a couple of holes and (barely) attach the circuit breaker with my new holes and some 1/4-20 bolts. Fun, Fun, Fun, working on a Mercruiser. I mean who buys a used boat to go to the lake or river? :-)
Thanks for the video! I just bought a 2001 Bayliner Capri 175 with the 3.0. The trim goes down but not up. I van hear the noise when I press the button but it only goes up minimally and with trouble. Do you think it could be the solenoid? Thanks again for the great video!
Why is that hose moving when you are testing the pump? The hose should be anchored at each end, aft at the stern casting block, and fore at the pump. It should be impossible for those hoses to move more than 1/8" or so.
I hear my motor sounding normal but the trim is not moving at all, up or down. I tried standing on it while my wife clicked the down, nothing. The circles on each side, what do I clean the inside of those with? If I hear the motor like “normal” does that mean it’s the rams? What did you clean them with?
I did this it's all wired right but after putting back on solenoid my tilt is stuck on won't shut as if I were pushing the trailor button. Anyone seeing this before any advise .
My trim goes down and trailer button works but the up button doesnt. I have changed the send and limit unit . The wires was trash so I thought it was that but still not working. What else can I check?
Silent movies ended in the 1920’s
Thanks for the retrospective DA
I wish I had that much room to get in there around my trim motor!

No
Sounds like you should check your fluid level and see if you have any fluid contamination.
@@willconwell will the fluid level keep it from tilting at all I can't even hear the switch
You wore it out on the test. 😮 lol

I got it! Kept jumping on it! Thanks!
@@McNeilSkee Same problem as you. Confirm that it has unlocked by forcing on the propeller support ?
@@rogerr.1183 I was able to jump on it and it got it going, thanks! It’s a candidate for replacement but docked and working this season!
Is there a wiring diagram for this somewhere
Great video thank you!
