Thank you Molly for your transparency and sincerity! I just left my 9-5 job last year and opened up my 1 vs 1 coaching regarding overcoming procrastination last September. I've spent $4000 on a course about how to open up my private coaching business. Though I eventually did it, I did have practiced almost 20 free coaching sessions "before" I took that course and as you said, most of the time, the creator of the course will only reveal the positive review/testimonial/case study. However, that isn't the whole picture, which can be pretty misleading...
My pleasure Johnson l felt like it was a conversation long over due. Congratulations on taking the leap and starting your own coaching business. It’s a fun and rewarding venture. Do let me know if/ how I can best support you here on this channel. Your questions are always welcome.
Molly this was so needed!! I am completely against people who just have courses without coaching AND feedback of some sort!! I have spent so much money and have gotten very little results. It’s hard to promise pie in the sky results when every business is so unique. I personally will never fo online courses but online programs because you get the courses, coaching, feedback, and group support and can stop and start anytime without throwing all your money away. Knowledge can be found anywhere but mentoring is what I will pay for. I’m happy that people are finally starting to speak the truth so we can all rise to the occasion! 🎉🎉
Rizzy, I agree. Creating a program that allows for real-time feedback, coaching, and support alongside a curriculum in the form of an online course that can easily be digested and activated by the student with pre-request checkpoints is my preferred method. While the last two major programs I invested THOUSANDS of dollars into offered these elements they failed to deliver on their pie-in-the-sky promises because 1. their feedback, guidance, and support were outsourced to an inexperience "coach" 2. their internal infrastructure to be able to deliver the digitals assets they promised was fundamentally broken 3. the guarantee they listed on their sales page and which were reinforced by their sales team actually relied heavily on a third party that their organization had no control over and 4. they continued to move the success bar further and further outreach for me as the student despite telling that I could get a full or partial refund if I did XYZ. And fortunately for them, the only one that got hurt in this experience was me. Yes, I'm angry that they wasted my money, but more importantly, they wasted my time. Now as frustrating as this experience was, it taught me as a leader/teacher/creator to NEVER do that to another person. Even if that means growing my business at a much slower rate. People over profit.
Hi Molly, I appreciate your struggle and feel grateful that you had the opportunity to glean Camille's message. I cane to check that I hadn't heard from her in a while. I know she was struggling with TH-cam and personal issues, and I don't see her at all. It appears she's taken her videos down, idk, I hope she's okay. idk if you can shoot her an email letting her know we miss her. I hear you are struggling as well, Well. bless you and "keep on keeping on" You're going in the right direction.
Thank you for sharing this! I also find with courses in particular it’s hard to get a result because they usually only teach one strategy but never give support on how to troubleshoot which then in turn requires you to go through coaching to get the real answer you need I also know that people promise things they just can’t guarantee in order to make their course/program/etc more marketable For this reason I’ve actually shifted and also offer a ROI Commitment” where im clear on what 3-4 results you should get and when If you do the work and don’t get them you have the option of a refund or more hands on support to get the result because it is a scam to promise someone something and then shrug your shoulders or half do getting them the actual result promised
I agree that it is a scam to promise someone results that you can't guarantee and then shrug your shoulders when the result isn't achieved. Smart to offer an ROI Commitment, Kay. I've made this shift myself. I have outlined specific checkpoints that can be easily achieved within a deadline. My students don't move forward in my program until the requested work has been submitted, reviewed, and applied. Yes, it's more work on my end, compared to an automated course, but I care more about my students getting the results they need to be set up for longer-term success than fattening my bank account as fast as possible.
@@mrskayhillman Yes, it's worked great for me so far. I have a client/coach agreement that I have new students sign at the time of onboarding. Making it clear what I and my team's role are and what exactly is required of the student to achieve the promised results. In my most recent high-ticket marketing agency scam experience the owner kept moving the bar as to what was required to be entitled to a full or partial refund. It was painfully frustrating. I vow to never do that to someone. Equally, I understand that I'm only 100% in charge of the 50/50 coach/student agreement.
@@MollyAnnLuna wow I hate to hear your scam experience! It’s sad! Smh! I also have an agreement but I’m going to clarify more the checkpoints bc that’s a fabulous idea! Right now I have guides that give milestones but o want to clear that up even more! Thank you for being so open in sharing this
@@mrskayhillman thank you for joining the conversation and striving to create the best experience possible for your students. Keep up the great work my friend. Together let’s change the narrative for the industry.

I can't believe it took me this long to come clean. 🤦♀Tell me what's been your experience with online courses?
Thank you Molly for your transparency and sincerity!

At that point, you could have gotten an MBA.
Right!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. 👍
