Made this sauce (no chicken in it) for the first time on Mon 28 Dec and took it away with us to our holiday home the day after. I also added coriander to it while it was cooking. I reheated it and we just added some rice, chips and naan bread to the sauce. Wow, we were blown away by the sauce. Really nice and spicy as well. So today I have made the sauce again for use tonight for new years eve. Slight tweak to it, along with coriander I added, cherry tomatoes and spinach. Tastes really good. When I come to serve it later, some of the sauce will be used with king prawns and the rest will have chicken tikka in it. Looking forward to it.
Al, just finished washing up, had to send a comment. This dish was the best Indian we have ever cooked, absolutely beautiful, full of flavour and depth. Thanks for sharing.
Been cooking BIR a few months now and starting to get the hang of it. Made this for the first time this evening and it was one of the best curries we’ve had. Thank you Al
Used to have this all the time when we lived in Glasgow, it was my absolute favourite, really missed it when we moved to Leeds! However, as you can imagine loads of great curry houses in Leeds , so didn’t cry for long!! I had forgotten all about it until I came to your site. I have made your tikka, the best I’ve made! It of course helps having all the exact ingredients including the edible mustard oil!! Soooo many good Asian supermarkets here in Leeds! Anyway, started to look at other things on your site. Have made your powder, and your base gravy (no2) So I’m ready!! Have made your samosas Fab! Even better you don’t have to deep fry! And now this Chasni! Amazing!! Just like I remember it. Have now made a little Als kitchen book, with all the recipes I want to try…..I can’t wait! Going to pre cook some lamb as well! If your ever in Leeds go to Akbars and try their Roshan Lal, it’s amazing, and perhaps you could make it, and share the recipe!!!! Thank you.
Made it last night, with your base gravy2. Saved me 20quid from my local takeaway. Added 3 cardamoms in with the onions. Outstanding. Thanks Al. Much appreciated.
Hi Al, made this in two seperate portions last night for four people and OMG....This was a complete success and now one of my favourite's. I have never had this dish before and so glad I discovered you. Have been making curry dishes for years, but yours are the best. Thanks Al and keep them coming :)
What a great tasting curry Al. Loved it. Been "making" curries for years but ever since I bought an aluminium pan, made base gravy, use ALS special mix and pre cook my meat it has totally transformed my curries
Hi Al,love your videos and i’m totally obsessed.Made your base gravy and chicken chasni 4 times in the space of less than a week due to requests from friends and family.
I made this last week, two servings infact, one for me and one to drop off at my mums. We enjoyed it very much.I have been on furlough lately, and have had plenty of time to experiment in the kitchen. Following your instructions I have been able to produce some fantastic results. Cannot thank you enough, game changer. Shall never use a jar of sauce again.
Don't usually comment on TH-cam but this is well worth it. I doubled up because I was making a large double portion and it was just superb. Sweet but not too sweet, tiny edge of spiciness and the mint sauce just lifts it all up. This will be the curry I cook to impress people now without doubt.

Just made this two nights on the bounce using extra hot chilli powder instead. It's incredible! Delicious like a tikka masala but with the spice of a 'proper' curry. Superb!
Just cooked this tonight and I'm very impressed. I substituted hot madras for mild madras powder as I like a hot curry and I wasn't disappointed. I shall try it with friends now it's passed my taste test. 👍
Had a curry night at home. Made your Chasni, Korma, Bombay potatoes, Mushroom Bhaji and Pilau rice......OMG!! Fantastic all better than any BIR I’ve been in. Keep up the good work Al 👍👍
