@@jakejoker1988 They cut the worst ones, I would think, or the ones with the most problems/issues. This one just happened to be worse, and you should be able to tell.
This is honestly 10x better of any of the sketches that made the cut
Cecilys British accent is really good - she even strings words together joined by vowels with the "R" sound very authentically

@@halfluck2445 Well some of you do. An old friend who was also a NE native would pronounce words like "tail, sail, nail" as "tell, sell, nell." I've heard the same pronunciations from CA natives. I lived in Lincoln for 19 years and currently live in North Mexico or East California (Arizona)

This is so good. All of these performers are masters of accents, especially Cecily. So a sketch showing *bad* accent performers is hilarious.

I don't know what show you were watching. Cecily consistently does great British accents. In another sketch on that night's show she even did a remarkable Liverpool accent. She is nothing short of brilliant.

I love Cecily. But the only current SNL performer who can occasionally do a decent British accent is Kate McKinnon.
As a dialect coach in the theatre, I adore this skit.

EXACTLY. Total missed opportunity. I just got through commenting that they should have let her write her own sketches. With all the SNL characters she could use, it could have been brilliant, not the typical mediocre stuff.

Igor Schmidlapp Cathy Anne is definitely my favorite too. Such a clever lady. Cecily really dives right in to all of her characters.
Cathy Anne is really the best recurring character on SNL right now. (except maybe kate doing Mueller).

As a native Nebraskan I can confirm that this is actually the exact accent of a Iowa Resident, particularly Ames, Iowa, or possibly Council Bluffs.

Can I point out that genius Cecily, around 2:00 says "Nebrasker accent" EXACTLY AS A BRITISH PERSON WOULD, because (for a reason I don't understand) they put an R at the end of a word ending in a vowel if their next word starts with a vowel. I've never seen an American do this when putting on a fake British accent. She's amazing. -- an American in UK 12 years.

Kyle has one character he's capable of playing and I suspect it's who he really is.
I actually like the guy, but he's like Kenau Reeves, only with Kenau, it's just an accent he can't shake. With Kyle, it's everything, facial expressions, mannerisms, everything.
Joe Burnes yeah I agree on that but the skits he comes up with are funny. Last week I was disappointed because you’d think a season premiere would have had extra oomph
