Awesome stuff!! I used to collect rocks as a kid... mostly fossils of cephlapods and brachiopods.... and only ONE trilobite in all my years... but very few gems/quartz. talk about a flashback!

Hi Beau. I am a preschool teacher and last week we learned about earth science. I shared some of your cave videos with them and then we looked at some crystals, quarts, iron pyrite and geode's that I have. We also grew some of our own crystals with Epsom salts. The kids loved it but they may have picked up on my love of this stuff. If you ever come across any extra crystals. fossils, seashells, arrow heads, or anything else they might like, I would be happy to pay for them and then I could add it to our science box. I am a very hands on teacher and love when they can see the real thing instead of pictures. They don't have to be high quality as they are only 4 and 5 years old and they will be touched a lot. Thank you all the great educational videos you share with us.

Most rock clubs have a program for the youths. The one in Spokane WA Goes to schools on earth day and other times during the year. The children seem to either love it or forget it. We need those love it students to keep this very interesting hobby available for the future. They also have schollerships that they donate to the collages and students who make mineralogy and gemology their majors

How cool! Little baby crystals- which I love finding too. When I moved from MD to VA- and lost my favorite 'anything-hunting' areas, I began looking around to see what was what. The Blue Ridge is all about the gems- crystals of many varieties. I too have been lucky enough to find what you found in this vid.- and some bigger as well. Good luck w/ future hunts!

I've been a Rock hound sense I was old enough to walk. I remember holding my Nana's hand and her showing me all the pretty rocks. You found a great site for quartz crystals. Great video. Oh, usually when you see red in the ground it means there's iron in it.

How cool was that ?! Thanks for the video. We used to find crystals on the sides of the roads in our county, in the gravel. All the old gravel roads had quartz in them too. It was super fun going on hikes looking for quartz crystals and arrowheads. Just had to keep and eye out for rattlesnakes.

Love to show you our place in northeast Oregon, has so many different types of minerals in one place. It's rare enough to bring geologists from three different states in. And we have the mineral rights to three gold mines and a quartz mine. Everytime I watch you rock hunting gets me drooling to get back out there and get kicking the rocks. Love your content. Cheers

Beau, there are some good videos from crystal hunters in Georgia that may give you some ideas on what clay and what seams to explore for fully terminated specimens like you found there. I believe they tend to gather and when you find some that weathered out on the ground naturally, look up and hopefully their home is right there waiting for you two. Hope to see a follow up soon!!

Oh my; I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to lay down my gold detector and start collecting quartz crystals. I do that all the time. One spot, about a 10' x 10' bare area, I found around 200 intact crystals. It was amazing. Nice goat btw. I have found a few huge quartz crystals here in NV. Keep up the great videos. Those waffer looking things you asked about are probably aragonite.

I love quartz for Crystals, gold bearing quarts and what we called Whitmore Diamonds. In Northern California. My wife and I had a friend in the San Diego area that faceted some. We paid him by letting him pick out some of the crystals for himself. They are really beautiful when finished. I love exploring the type of places you searched in this video.
