Overall I think the cultures of many Muslim-majority countries are harmful towards women, but muslims at large, especially in more progressive parts of the world, aren't necessarily sexist just based on their religion. Well, this guy is in the news again for pretending that he got kicked off of Delta Airlines for speaking Arabic when he was actually being loud and disruptive. That's fun.
I was at my friend's house once- her name is Heba and she is Muslim, she speaks fluent Arabic because her parents only understand tiny bits of English- they didn't come to America from Egypt til they were both over 35. It's so freaking cool to hear her talk to her mom on the phone, it's like rapid-fire awesomeness- she doesn't even understand how lucky she is to be so fluently bilingual..
Anyway, Heba and I were talking as I helped her clean her house that day and we started moving the books off the bookshelf so she could dust it.
When she came to her copy of the Koran, she looked me in the eyes and asked if I was on my PERIOD.
I was like... no. Not today... Why the hell?!😂
And she told me it was because women aren't allowed to even TOUCH the Koran when they're having their periods because they are spiritually and physically "unclean" in the eyes of the Muslim religion.

I say this as a man. Women are probably more "clean and pure" even during their minstrels than men are half the time. Like I dont want to make any assumptions to any kind gentlemen out there, but I'm pretty sure as a guy that is hardwired biologically to have a hormonal reaction at the slightest provocation, visual or physical, I'm pretty sure women still have cleaner minds and "souls" than dirt old men. What kind of gets me is that the Quran talks about how to treat slaves. It does not say to free slaves. It does not say that owning another person is wrong. The "word of God" does not condemn slavery. Also the Quran is good with disciplining wives by beating them. Whether it is with a small stick or large, it talks of humiliating an adult woman through physical acts. And again, the is the "word of God".
All modern cultures of the world have surpassed the morals found in the Koran, and also in the Bible.
What many don't realise is that half of the Quran's verses are stories from years ago. Many aren't even supposed to be acted upon. There are some rules stated and some are just stories, many Muslims fail to realise that.
Recent historical discoveries suggest black muslims were actually the ones to first to resist slavery which propelled its abolishment around the world because slaves were not being treated in "the right way". They were captured and sent to slave colonies and promoted the revolts. There's more to it but they definitely played a big part in ending slavery. I don't really take sides but I find the irony of people's views today interesting.

Well the problem with Religion nowadays is (in my own Opinion): it is just out of our time! Religions especially the big world religions were found around 2000-1500 years ago. these where antiqe to middle ages. The Opinions and the Worldview of the people who lived at that time who wrote the bible and tora and quran and stuff were adopted to those times which inluded: violence to survive, slavery for power, no women rights, even punishment of women if they did something the men did not like, wars every few years, corruption, death penalties, mass murder and genocide, rascism and many more fucked up shit that happened like 2000 years ago. How can this in ANY way still be the fundament of so many millions of peoples lives AT THIS TIME?!?
I mean Humanity changed during the last 2000 years A LOT we evolved we revolutionized we Learned and now we (should) know what is right and what is wrong according to our own set up and constantly improved view on Morality of this time! nowadays we know that black people are equal to white people, we know that slavery is wrong we know that murder is wrong and we know thanks to our right systems we can await a fair punishment if we do forbidden things, we nowadays accept homosexuality and set them equal to other people, we also set women rights equal to men. Every human on this planet nowadays should have the same rights and freedoms but the same rules set by us, the people we created our own system besides the religios one which is flawed and does not fit into our period of time.
The bible may have been acceptable at that current time it was written in, but now at the current state of time on the planet earth its not ANYMORE.

I am not saying everything about religion is wrong there is certainly atleast something good in it maybe one good part like "you should not kill other people because if you kill somebody who has never killed another person it is like killing every human on this planet".
But we don´t need a book to tell us that killing is "bad" we should Naturally KNOW it! every human knows that human race must survive because thats the sense of life, to make children and killing other human is working against that so we know something that is against humanity is bad not only for us but also for our futur and that is why we the people set up rules that don´t allow anything that is bad for the survival of humanity like crime, murder, drugs.
that is why we don´t need religions in the 21st century anymore. They dictate our lives based on the worldview of middleages/ antiquety people, make false promises,threaten you with burning in all eternity if your opinion is slightly different and tell us what is right and what is wrong based on the justice system of that time (2000 fuckin years ago!) which is in no way comparable to our current overhauled justice system.

There are basic problems for the person who is an Islamic apologist. The religion is based on faith through indoctrination, not evidence, so immediately there are grounds for critical analysis. The religion talks about death and violence, so there are grounds there for critical analysis. So the Muslim who feels it necessary to defend Islam is faced with serious problems. Any person who has even nominal critical thinking skills will be able to out-flank the Muslim apologist using simple logic. The Muslim is left with the standard tactics of hyperbole and the various manners of denial ("out of context", "misinterpreted passage", etc.), which is what is seen in the video being analyzed.

Context does not merely mean "verses adjacent to it", it refers to the location, occasion, situation, and several other factors. This kid blindly neglects this essential fact. He doesn't even know a fundamental of Islam, yet he believes he can devise a video telling Muslims what they believe. The prophet compares the scholars to a star that guides those lost at sea. Clearly, if you lack these principles, you'll fall astray, as many Muslims have.

Btw... lots of people once believed in fascism and I think it is safe to say that we all agree that this is also nothing that needed to be respected. So why should you respect a religion that has similar ideas of how the world should work. And that does include practically every religion not only islam. I am a Christian, and I find it laughable that someone can say that criticizing Islam or Muslims as a whole is somehow racist.
That's as idiotic as me saying that anyone who criticizes Christianity or Christians in general is a racist!
If you criticize my religion or those who practice my religion, I may think you're wrong, maybe even a jerk (depending on how you go about expressing it), but that's as far as it goes.
What those who claim that it's racist to criticize Islam or Muslims really mean is:
1) They just assume that all Muslims are of a particular ethnicity, Arab, even though there are Muslims who are black Africans, Caucasians, east Asians, and every other race and ethnicity under the sun.
I mean, don't they even realize just how arrogant they are to just assume that all Muslims are Arab?
2) Just as with all social justice warrior shitbags, they use the term "racist" as a cudgel to silence dissent.
Open and shut.
Please note that regarding the bears and Elisha;
1. They word(s) used to describe 'little children' in that passage is also used to refer to young adults in other passages; it seems likely that, in this case, it is referring to young adults rather than actual little children as we understand them.
2. Elisha had just returned from seeing his master taken up by God; these youths were in turn saying, "Go up," which would conceivably be equivalent to saying "Go meet your maker".
3. It is not certain whether or not the kids were actually killed - just attacked. It occurs to me that for 42 of the boys to be attacked by 2 bears, that would be 21 per bear - and with all of them running, it doesn't seem likely that the bear would be able to do more than swipe at them with their paws before having to move on to the next one and achieve that number before the others could run away to the safety of the city.
There is a lack of details (there's a lot to say, after all, and not all the room to say it), but there's plenty of room to see that passage as reasonable.

Hi there, I am a Christian, and I just want to say, regarding your views on Christianity. You obviously don't have a good experience and I don't know what happened to you, but I really hope you will find the way back. Many denominations these days don't teach the truth about the real and only God who is Jehovah or His Son Jesus Christ. There is a lot of hypocrisy when it comes to many churches or the people who claim to be Christians. I sometimes have doubts whether to even call myself one, because I realise how imperfect I am and I often behave the way I shouldn't. When it comes to Bible, yes there are many cases when Jehovah's actions may look harsh in our eyes, but we also have to understand that God can see a much better, clearer and most importantly bigger picture and His wisdom and understanding is beyond our comprehension. Verses that people may cite are many times taken out of context to fit whatever the person is trying to reason or argue on, but you really need to be guided by the Holy spirit to understand God's action and the reason behind them. And you must also know the whole Bible, not just couple of books here and there. Yes, some things are written in a plain language but many of them are hidden behind the metaphor. I am sure you already know all this, and I don't mean to or try to talk you into anything, it just makes me sad. I watch your videos and you seem like a lovely guy, very wise and just genuine with your concerns either about people or environment. I actually stopped going to church many years ago, and I used to be a catholic. I found out about the lies they teach as a norm when it comes to God. But I could never imagine myself walking through life without Jehovah's love and the one of His Son. If you have doubts, or if you don't like how God happened to deal with certain people you can always ask Him. Go to the source, ask for answers and see what happens. It's up to you obviously :). In the Middle East, you're not allowed to criticize Islam. In the West... criticizing Islam is strongly discouraged by much of society.
Compare this guy to your average Christian. Those Christians are used to being criticized. Even if they've never been criticized before, they know it's a thing that happens. Oh my gosh 2 Kings 2:23-25 is my favorite haha! I used to read that quote to myself after a hard day in middle school... and imagine all my enemies being torn apart by she-bears.
