      Best way to train stubborn dogs is with patience and consistency. If it’s not working, try a different method, your dog may be bored with training or may not understand what your trying to communicate. There is no 1 for sure way, there are many methods and “tricks” to train your animal. Some dogs learn things different ways.

    Puppy crate training done easy: Keep the puppy in a room with a hard floor with a crate containing a blanket or pillow, play with her and feed her till she gets tired. If the crate is the only comfortable place she will go there and of course praise her. Repeat and she'll be crated trained in a matter of days.

    My newest dog is so adorable about his crate. He has picked up all these little signals that it is about to be crate time. My favorite is when I use a remote to turn off the air conditioner before bed. He can look dead asleep on the couch or wherever but the second he hears that beep he hops off the couch and RUNS into his crate. I like to say I have a remote control doggy. A few times we forgot to close the crate door at night because he does everything but close the door. And now I am thinking how to train him to do that too, hahaha;)

      The crate is a quiet spot they can go to relax if things in the house get too overwhelming. It’s meant to be a ‘safe space’ for them when they can go to relax and sleep if they need to be away from noise and distraction/disturbance. The house is still a fun place and they can still sleep around it but if you live in a noisy place they might just want their own special place

We went for a nice long walk in the evening and when we came back and it was time for bed she didn't make a sound! It's our first night and she's been sleeping soundly with a few exceptions of very minimal whimpering when she goes back in the crate after her potty break. It only lasts for about 5 minutes and she doesn't bark or scratch at her crate she just gets tired and falls back asleep.

    My 3 year old dog loves his crate! He prefers it over any bed! All we do is give him his favorite blankie, and then he lays in there all the time! I’m getting a puppy this week, so I wanted to review the training techniques. This is great!

    we took a frightened, fearful rescue who loves his crate. it was his refuge to chill , relax and recharge whilst we worked on his issues and built his confidence. He still loves his crate. Crate training also helps dogs if they have to be crated during treatments for illnesses/injuries. We are currently crate training our newest addition and he is coming on very well. your video had a couple of tips I havent done before so will be implementing them too.

    In no way am i close to finishing crate training (my puppy’s crate is more of a playpen with a door) but ever since watching this video it is going 100x better. She actually goes in there on her own now and we just started a few hours ago. I had to leave her for the first time today (i was gone about 20 minutes) and she did great while i was gone. I got back and she looked happy and comfortable in there. I gave her a treat told her how good she is and took her out. What a fantastic video

    Thank you for your very helpful videos!
    My puppy is a midsize breed who is now 18 weeks old and 20 pounds. His fabulous Mid West wire crate is large enough to allow for growth, so because it's heavy, I can't be moving it around the house to be where we are at anytime. I just use the crate for confinement through the night in an adjoining bedroom near ours so he can hear me. He is realizing when it's bedtime time and so won't go upstairs, even on a leash. He is getting too heavy to carry up, and he whines and barks for about 10 minutes when we leave him in the crate. He has never had an accident in his crate, and he is in there for about 7 hours. During the day, he stays nicely loose in our kitchen with baby gates and in our family room, wherever we are. He doesn't have accidents confined in the kitchen when we go out, but we haven't left him there for more than 5 hours . What do you suggest I do about the crate issue when it's not something that can be moved around?

      Create a positive association between the travel carrier ....it takes time! Feed them treats with the zipper open inside the carrier. CBD oil has also helped (make sure it's made FOR DOGS at the pet store...they remove all the THC. The ones for humans have THC in it)

    • @katk7505
      @katk7505 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LisaGallegos CBD oil for humans is typically made of hemp and has no thc. I'm not sure there's a difference, won't say there isn't one though as the stuff for people might have additives not safe for dogs. 🤷
