Something I forgot to add is although Oars is based on the Devil, I think Oda did that to show that what people label you as doesnt mean you’re an actual DEVIL. Being a true DEVIL has to do with the person you are inside and this perfectly parallels with IMU who is called a ‘GOD’, even though he’s the actual DEVIL of the World. It appears like Wano was made to withstand a world flood (the cleansing) and the different climates are meant to be able to house all races/species, even merfolk underwater, so all life isn't wiped out. Seems zunesha may have a role in that as well since they're both higher elevations
I think joy boy and posiedon planned to save as many tribes as they could with Noah and zunesha from a flood that covered the planet in water except a collection of islands that make up the world at a higher elevation post flood, like how wano was raised as you said. This would account for the endless vearth that was mentioned if this huge ocean wasn't below in the past

Something i just realized when you were talking about the eye patch and one eye symbolism. When Luffy awoken Gear 5 and became the embodiment of Joyboy, there is a scene in which he covers one of his eyes while looking all around with his other eye while laughing. It could be visual foreshadowing.
In chapter 1122 JoyBoy talks to Emeth on top of a building. He is considerably smaller than emeth and emeth is of similar size to Oars. JoyBoy looks like a human no horns or anything. More then likely JoyBoy was a buccaneer.
Two thoughts: you brought up about the soldiers in Skypiea doing the horned salute, which could be an homage to Oars but I didn’t hear you mention that the salute ends with “Don.” You know like the bang of a drum, the beating of the drums of liberation, Joyboy’s whole thing. Also wasn’t the other method to reach Skypiea to travel high into the clouds from a tall location? Kinda seems like that is giant territory which only makes the connection between the two races more viable to being related to Joyboy as he would’ve been able to travel easily between the two places and since you said they both rock subtle hints to him, I think this is a bow to wrap it nicely together as well.

While I like these theories I cannot stop from thinking that Oda is unconsciously putting up these "coinicidences" or indicators for theories while fooling us all. His writing is that compact and magical. Man probably wonders himself what kind of crazy idea the one piece community gets. Looking at a shounen of that level it is not far stretched to assume that everything that makes sense to us has never even occured to this man at all. And its frightening cause I doubt we will get anything worse than the theories. Just far will he get. How will he blow our mind... It is a mystery. He is the mystery. The one piece is real.
I like that you have proposed about Oda putting in a bunch of red herrings to mislead the readers while the foreshadowing for the actual one piece is a lot more subtle.
Also, the fish men (the only other ancient society you didn’t bring up) are sun pirates. Slaves, and hated + ostracized by the world gov for helping joy boy during war. He left a message down there and a giant ark he probably built or had the denizens of wano to build it for him as their master builders. Or might be related to Frankie’s “dad”s family and how he was SUCH a great builder and had the blueprints for the great weapon
Wouldn't there be more evidence to say a fishman gave Oars his strawhat since the actual embodiment of the strawhat was shown by Oda to be a fishman. Plus that would make Luffy and Shirahoshi being the two sovereigns sort of a coming full circle ordeal I'd think, Unless Oda throws another curveball and the sovereigns are actuually Yowamushi and Vivi.
1:52:00 "To never let the light of shandora be extinguished." WORD Pay attention! The gorosei also used these terms, when they asked IMU. "Whose "light" shall we must extinguished now? tell us a name"
I believe I’ve come to a close conclusion as to what the Will of D and the ancient kingdom stood for. I think it’s the will of destiny or the will of dreamers. Remember Blackbeards first words to Luffy? That scene was one of the most impactful events in the show. “The Dreams of Pirates, Will never End!” Two bearers of the D name harping on about DREAMS. Their meeting was no coincidence, it was destiny at play. The ancient kingdom most likely had a connection to God and valued freedom and dreams more than anything. The fact that they were so powerful hints at that. For them to have freedom and the power to pursue dreams, they all needed to be strong. Like luffy realized with losing Sabo, losing to Kuma, and lastly, losing Ace. He realized he needed to be stronger to reach his dream and protect the dreams of those he cares about. The Ancient kingdom’s abilities and technologies had to do with having access to something heavenly or divine. But the real issue is the world government, who were the 20 kings that defeated them. They were jealous and evil in the heart. To win, they most likely made a pact with the Devil. The truth is that Imu, the 5 elder stars, the celestial dragons and world nobles are the true devils/demons of the story. And those who know the truth don’t want the world to realize it so they suppress the people. Erased any traces of their crimes and branded the descendants of the ancient kingdom as “devils”. When in fact, they (D) are dreamers, who carry on the will and dreams of those who have perished. It is destiny for their dreams to become reality. What’s done in the dark, will come to light. Eventually the truth will be exposed and the D’s (Dreamers) will rise together again. And the man who can lead them all, Joyboy (Luffy) is back to settle the score and make sure they win this time. I feel like that’s what the Will of D is most likely going to be.
1:30:50 Nika (νικά) in Greek isn't the "Victory", it means conquers, you just said it a few minutes before that.. Victory in Greek is "νίκη" (pronounced "neekee" and not Nike like the shoe company that supposed to originated its name from that word). Fun fact, Nico, "νικώ" in Greek, means "I win", but I believe that it's a coincidence regarding Robin's last name. By the way, I'm a Greek native speaker, so I didn't have to search for the above info, avoiding misinformation.
god damn. Good work man. it was def worth watching. 10/10. I BELEVE IT~! TL:DW 1. The theory suggests that the original Oars, known as ORS the first, from the Void Century, is Joy Boy 2. Clues from the Thriller Bark Arc, including Oars' connection to a giant straw hat and Oni symbolism, support the idea that Oars is Joy Boy. 3. The Wano Arc, particularly the introduction of Sun God Nika and the revelation that Luffy is Joy Boy, adds more hints to Oars being Joy Boy. 4. The theory connects various symbols, such as Jolly Rogers, straw hats, and the name "Oars," to support the idea of Oars as Joy Boy. 5. The theory delves into wordplay, historical references, and religious symbolism to provide further support for the theory that Oars is Joy Boy.
I don’t know the FULL details of what went down with TOPT but I appreciate you adding time stamps to help people avoid spoilers. I’m fully caught up but it’s nice to see that people care
I love this theory but the only thing imo opinion that disproves it is if oars was really joyboy, I don't think oars or his story wouldn't be so common knowledge. The WG would try to cover up oars and his story as well
if joyboy back then was really strong, having the giants, wano, etc. behind his back, imagine how strong joyboy's enemy was that caused him to be defeated. ( i apologize for my english)
At 48:36 I noticed the glyph next to the right seacat statue looks a lot like the scene of shanks giving Luffy the Strawhat. it immediately made me think that perhaps Nefeltari Lili gave the strawhat to the original Joyboy. There is also a shadowy figure (possibly in the shape of an oni) and what seems to clearly be a devil fruit next to them in the glyph. also going off of your point on the skypeia skull's missing eye, perhaps that is the island of onigashima (I'm basing this strictly on onigashima being circular).
This doesn’t disprove the theory, but felt it’s important to mention. Towards the beginning of the video, during the introduction, you mention Oars Jr.’s jolly roger stating he’s Oars III, and that that must mean Oars the continent puller at Thriller Bark is his father. However the math makes that impossible. Oars Jr. is currently 72, and it’s said in story that the Oars we meet as a corpse in Thriller Bark was born over 500 years ago and died at 159. This means he can’t be Oars Jr.’s father and must instead be his grandfather. Meaning Oars at Thriller Bark is Oars the first. That said, Joy Boy could still have been Oars Jr.’s great grandfather rather than his grandfather.
You know how Luffy grew giant against kaido? Obviously joyboy could do the same. Luffys hat grew with him, but what if he got struck down as a giant and the hat fell off, I believe it'd stay giant. I think Nika was a normal guy who got struck down in battle against Imu as a giant in battle and his hat fell off.
Fake start. There can not be a joyboy video without spoilers if ur claiming everything is facts u pulled from source material. If ur not caught up joyboy is just a whisper from fishmen island. This video is not for them Let's continue 1:33 mins in
this is a great theory dude! I had been making theories since 2008 and I always said that One Piece is very rooted in religious references, and I'm happy this hunch is coming to fruition. Although I have a different take on all this. I think Oars is just another hint to it. Instead of Oars being Joyboy, I think its more of Joyboy and the lost civilization of Ancient Kingdom are Dragon People...The Dragon People in my guess are erased lineage with Oni Race having a bit of their blood, just Bucaneers having some Giant blood. I'm not sure if I'll even make a theory video of it, it's because we mostly have the same evidences (I have other stuff too, but we are close) but we have a different conclusion from those evidence/hints from the series.
Alabasta is a dessert, Deserts are known to be brimmed in the sun Skypia/Jaya is up in the skies, they are the islands closest to the sun Wano takes inspiration from japan, which is once called the "Sunrise Kingdom" The Moon reflects the sun
Maybe you say it, but the vid is long but I don’t want to forget: The other mythical Hito Hito we see is Sengoku’s Golden Buddha, which is a giant statue of a god.
I had a theory similar to this, but my theory is that the Oars we saw on Thriller Bark were Joyboy, the then user of the paw paw fruit did to him like what Kuma did to himself and his memories was pushed out of him, leaving him a husk that was sentenced to "continent pulling" until he froze to death. Onigashima is an island made in Joyboy's honor, honoring his jolly rodger, not an actual skull. There is also the fact that Oars is remembered as a "devil" which is WG shorthand for good guy. The reason I liked this theory is that it means that Joyboy got in some sense reunited with his "will" when Moria stuffed Luffy's shadow into him, more or less recreating Joyboy. Also, Little Oars Jr. had a straw hat, and WB and the others affinity towards him might also be linked to his herritage to Joyboy. Furthermore, it would explain why the WG decided to punish Moria following the war of the best, as his crimes of even touching the body of joyboy was an immense one, even more so if he was planning to make use of it, he even tried to go after little Oars Jr's body. I like this theory because the Oars we got to see with the shadow of Luffy inside of him was a jolly and carefree one, he would have made a fun Joyboy to see in flashbacks.
This makes sense, and since Imu's and the WG's propaganda makes demons of everyone that opposes them. What if Imu is the literal devil, and the Celestials are actual demons in human form (Op Op fruit possibly), as the saying goes, "the greatest trick the devil pulled, was convincing the world he doesn't exist". Could explain the ridiculous durability of Charlos, and St. Garcia's indifference to humanity.
This will be revealed once we learn how devil fruits work. Devil fruits are like the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden that the devil made eve eat.
'Umi' which means ocean in Japanese flipped backwards is 'Imu'. Joyboys power is ridiculous in a way that you are only limited just by your imagination. Therefore he was the one that created the devil fruits and each devil fruit power are abilities that you imagine you could have. Its called devil fruits because Oars as Joyboy resembles a devil. The reason devil fruit users can not swim is because Umi flipped to Imu is the enemy of Joyboy the creator of the devil fruits. The promise made to fishman island was to bring them out of the Umi and free them from Imu as Imu controls the ocean.
35:06 oars being joyboy also explains the wall around wano. He pulled it in. Then maybe the oars from thriller bark was the one who later pulled more land to wano
Look up the connections of the Aztec rain God Tlaloc. He brings storms and lightning and always faces the East toward his place of Origin. His progeny is clouds which I think is connected to the theory that the Nika fruit has something to do with pyrobloin or clouds. I mean the way Gear 5 moves is like a cloud rolling across the sky constantly changing shape and transforming. Tlalocs wife was called the Green Lady and was represented by a frog so I'm not sure how that fits unless Luffys mom was from the Emerald city or something. I'm probably way off but I definitely believe Oda took inspiration from this.
The first video I saw of your channel was about this topic and believed you with that one, with this one I just feel this is right and is no way it isn't
My favorite void century theory is that imu is a seraphim that turned on it's creators and took away the sun using his mastery over light. Everyone on the planet froze over in a matter of days due to the lack of the sun. That's why it's the void century, refering to the void in the sky where the sun used to be. Perhaps the flame emperor and many others survived being frozen and were able to make the poneglyhps during the void century and used pluton the giant mole to transport them. Also note that the core of the earth would still be warm, and that's how the survivors stayed alive. Also OARS DIED BY GETTING FROZEN, and the straw hat at mariejois is FROZEN
Also everyone imu didn't want to kill would have been thawed out at the turn of the century. Perhaps Oars joyboy was frozen and then stabbed by imu as foreshadowed by moria with little oars Jr.
I like this theory a lot but I think it missed some points. Everyone talks about the parallels in the story but miss a key one in Wano. The savior of Wano will be known as Joyboy because Luffy didn't want the credit. Which in my opinion would mean that the name Joyboy is just made up to his someone's real identity. I don't think Oars was Joyboy I think oars was a friend of Joyboy he parallels with Zunesha. Oars was known as a continent puller and Zunesha was sentenced to walk the seas with a continent on his back. I think that the world government may have thought Oars was Joyboy and that's why they had the giant strawhat but weren't able to obtain the devil fruit. The original holder of Luffy's devil fruit would've been able to make him self into a giant. The image of Nika is never shown as a Giant but also as human figure. This would mean that even if Joyboy was an Oni he would've look human like chopper.
He actually adress that point, The fruit is a model of the Human-Human Fruit which means a non-human eating the fruit would be able to transform into a human
Also if the fruit could grow someone to the size of a giant maybe joyboy also had the ability to shrink in size using his imagination to meet mortal humans where they are.
Something I forgot to add is although Oars is based on the Devil, I think Oda did that to show that what people label you as doesnt mean you’re an actual DEVIL. I’m so sorry that you spent so much time on this
Wouldn't there be more evidence to say a fishman gave Oars his strawhat since the actual embodiment of the strawhat was shown by Oda to be a fishman. Plus that would make Luffy and Shirahoshi being the two sovereigns sort of a coming full circle ordeal I'd think, Unless Oda throws another curveball and the sovereigns are actuually Yowamushi and Vivi.
1:52:00 "To never let the light of shandora be extinguished." WORD
Pay attention!
At this point, I’m 100% sure that joyboy is a buccaneer
1:30:50 Nika (νικά) in Greek isn't the "Victory", it means conquers, you just said it a few minutes before that..
Victory in Greek is "νίκη" (pronounced "neekee" and not Nike like the shoe company that supposed to originated its name from that word).
Fun fact, Nico, "νικώ" in Greek, means "I win", but I believe that it's a coincidence regarding Robin's last name.
By the way, I'm a Greek native speaker, so I didn't have to search for the above info, avoiding misinformation.
this why king believed that kaido is joyboy.
god damn. Good work man. it was def worth watching. 10/10. I BELEVE IT~!
TL:DW
1. The theory suggests that the original Oars, known as ORS the first, from the Void Century, is Joy Boy
Don’t apologize. You write better than most native English speakers
You did absolutely amazing for “not being good” at English!
If Joyboy is liberation, dreams and imagination his enemy must have been slavery, nightmares and thought control.
It’s probably because the WG had one of the Ancient Weapons somehow back during The Void Century
Just noticed that lock for Moria's freezer (4:34) says 900... which is how many years ago the void century started.
That’s mainly because oars is morias 900th zombie
@@ToxicPanda-yn5dxbut why did the master of foreshadowing randomly choose the number 900?
So Oda made Law and Kid do a parallel with Big Mom by plunging her into Hell like Kaido, because he didn't like the ending of the Wizard of Oz lol
You can tell it's NOT oars just by the silhouette of joy boy, oda don't play with his silhouettes
I think it would take more than the silhouette to debunk the 100+ points raised in this video.
@hardcoretam and oda literally gave us joyboys silhouette and this video is debunked 😂😂😂😂
This the best theory i’ve watched in my life
Awesome video. Altohugh, Vikings actually never wore helmets with horns. Those helmets are way older than vikings.
He said they didn't
bro u really work hard , thanks for this amazing fun i really enjoyed .
1:06:29 what if elbaf giants are the result of the WG trying to make ancient giants and getting humans to grow, but not give the horns and full size.
If oars is joyboy i am Buggy god of pirates
The bones from the Strawhats Jolly Roger also sorta looks like a skull with horns on the top and tusks at the bottom...
God valley being emerald city… that didn’t age well
This is what a chapter break does to man.
Fake start. There can not be a joyboy video without spoilers if ur claiming everything is facts u pulled from source material. If ur not caught up joyboy is just a whisper from fishmen island. This video is not for them
Let's continue 1:33 mins in
Bro, Thank you! You took this theory on a whole different level! 👍🏿👍🏿🔥🔥💯💯
I love that Matt's your inspiration, Tekking101 for life
Bro's onto something
this is a great theory dude!
Alabasta is a dessert, Deserts are known to be brimmed in the sun
Skypia/Jaya is up in the skies, they are the islands closest to the sun
Wano takes inspiration from japan, which is once called the "Sunrise Kingdom"
The Moon reflects the sun
Some of these points are more like Marshall D. Reach. But no there was a lotta pretty neat ideas, a great long theory.
Never let bro cook he burnt the neighborhood 💀💀💀😭😭😭😭😭😭😭☠️
bro threw his whole channel on this theory 💀
Bro this blew my mind ! The chopstick thing they with thier mouths kinda resembles oars as well. We dimissed it but its so clear now
15 minutes in and i already agree with you !
this is insanely good content. creatively arranged. the only thing i missed...the monkey on the golden bell of shandora
Maybe you say it, but the vid is long but I don’t want to forget:
The other mythical Hito Hito we see is Sengoku’s Golden Buddha, which is a giant statue of a god.
Love the long format
Ok serious the jolly roger/ jolly devil bit 100% sold me.
You convinced me within the first two minutes
You gotta be some type of right bro luffy gear 5 just activated the giant robot
Kinda feel bad for the guy making a 2h video about a theory that is 100% gonna turn out wrong 😢
Don't give a claim without having any compelling arguments, at best you're just acting as a hecler
After chapter 1092 I think you my be on to something with the ancient robot awakening
This is great man
Haven't even see the vid yet and I know ya done it again Oarz
Thanks bro 😂💯🙏
So much knoledge in it it's incredible, I'm still on the jollyroger part and SOMEONE NEEDS TO DRAW OARS WITH GEAR 5
"You've probably seen every rock and roll artist use this hand sign to represent the devil"
Uhhh, no
the continent puller tie in made everything make sense tome honestly
This sounds like a fun theory where can i listen :)
Great video
epic theory, many hints that I missed so far
ofc I recommended it to my friends
The whisky one reallely had me like "come on dude" and then the Nika scotch had me like 🤯
I like this theory a lot but I think it missed some points.
Also if the fruit could grow someone to the size of a giant maybe joyboy also had the ability to shrink in size using his imagination to meet mortal humans where they are.
your right i agree... oda is jus so amazing at foreshadowing...great job bro
holy shit this is amazing
Alabasta's flag also looks near identical to Japan's flag and Japan is also known as the land of the rising sun
MOMMMMMM! PREACH JUST DROPPED
Wow!! Wow!! Amazing video… you really worked hard and did your do diligence… ❤❤❤❤❤ #onepiece
Thanks so much! 🙏💯
You know what, I'm sold, great theory.
