I just can’t begin to tell how much I love watching you two! I really really enjoy listening to you talk about the agriculture in Kenya. I didn’t think you were rambling at all. Your cross stitch is beautiful. I look forward to seeing your next flosstube.
I really admire your way of describing things/situations etc. You have a great vocabulary and way of finding the right words on demand. Well composed, with emotion, and a pleasant tone. I would hire you as a speaker any day. I love your stitching too 😊.
This is such a kind and thoughtful thing to say! Thank you! I often feel like I communicate better through my writing than my speaking, so it's really encouraging to hear the speaking bit is coming across well. :)
So glad to see your stitching and Gary’s. Sounds like your job has great opportunity to help people. Kudos to you!!, My family had an opportunity to go to Nairobi and it was truly a wonderful experience from visiting an orphanage to be able to share school supplies to the Mara to see the animals in their environment. It was magical with the people being so kind.
I love East Africa, but I admit that Kenya has a special place in my heart. I'm so glad you had a wonderful experience there too! It's been ages since I've been out to the Mara, but I'm hoping to go again in the next couple years. It really is amazing to get so up close and personal with the animals, and I was in constant awe of all the beautiful birds. And you're right about the people - they are so lovely!
It’s so interesting to hear and see what you do when you go to Africa. How fulfilling that must be. Excited to see how close you are to a finish on the pink house. BTW, love your blue scarf!
thanks for the great visit! so interesting to hear about your trip to Africa! Loved our trips to Providence during my daughters 4 years at RISD! happy stitching!
Love watching the two of you!!! You made me giggle so much today! :) thank you for the channel recommendation. Definitely will check them out. :) Love all the progress you made and I'm sure the stitchy bug will come back to Gary after he has all his adult stuff out of the way ;) I totally feel him. Don't stitch every day, 'cause very often I don't feel like it. But I have so many plans that I should stitch every day for about 30 hours ;) Loved all the pictures and infos about your trips. For me it wasn't boring at all. I'ld love to hear more about it. I'm in the customer council for a big corporation here in Germany and getting infos from behind the scene is what makes it so interesting. You can understand everything much better and also can get a feeling why the corp acts the way it acts. Also you learn a lot about the agriculture and also about everything busniess, so it's more than just a interesting thing to do. It's a voluntary work, but worth every single second I spend on it. :) Wish all of you a wonderful time and your doggo a good and fast recovery! :)
Thank you for another great video enjoyed seeing all your beautiful 🤩 wips. Enjoyed hearing about your trip. Have a wonderful week and happy stitching 😊🪡🧵🤗🤩
Loved you talking about agriculture in Africa. I studied agriculture economics at varsity (although i work in IT now) I've always had an interest in the "mutations" of seed for economic pupose. I know there are multiple opinions on "mutations" of crops, but it is essential in Africa.
It's absolutely essential! And the benefits go beyond purely economic growth, though that's important from a sustainability perspective. New varieties are needed that are better adapted to climate change - both drought tolerant and flood tolerant varieties to adapt to varying conditions, pest and disease resistant, producing higher yields, better adaptation to depleted soil, etc. Food security is incredibly important, as well as incomes. And now I shall put my soapbox away. :)
Great flosstube 😊 I hope your doggo is feeling well soon. Glad to hear your respective trips away went well. I'm going camping this week with the family. 😊
Hi guys, love your finish and Gary I laughed at the Louis (lewy) and then Amy’s laugh then you grinned and said women behaving… and thought you were going o say AMY! Lol you two are such fun! The thimble thingys are great. I have used themas well. Thanks for the fun! And the wildfires in Nova Scotia earlier, well we have now had devastating flooding. I shared on my IG the highway into the capital city and flooded even fire trucks.
So happy we were able to give you some laughs in the midst of difficult times. We're sorry that the wildfires were followed by floods. :( It's been such a hard summer for so many people in so many places. We'll be happy to see it go.
Great update on both of your WIPS, love them all. Amy, I am sure you have been to the Elephant orphanage in Kenya (probably more than once with all your travels). I was blessed to go a few years ago, I adopted a baby elephant for a year and received updates on her growth and a photo. Oh, I remember that time playing with the elephants so well, it was amazing and an experience I will never forget. Take care of yourselves, happy stitching.
Hi Nicole! Thanks, as always, for your lovely comment. I have had the pleasure of visiting the Sheldrick elephant orphanage. My TH-cam profile pic was actually taken there with one of the more curious babies. :) How lovely that you adopted one of their charges and were able to help support her care! It's been a long time since I visited, but I really do need to go back. The babies are so cute getting their big bottles. :)
Hello from Scotland, enjoyed your video, you both have great stitching projects on the go and I love listening to your stories. My Son has been based in Nairobi for the last 6 months and yesterday my 15 year old granddaughter travelled solo from London to visit him, they're going on safari and a few other trips and will travel home together x
Oh gosh! I haven't been on safari in ages. I keep telling Gary he needs to come with me on one of my trips. Kenya is a lovely place to take a holiday! I hope your son as enjoyed his time there!
Was happy to hear about the farmers in Kenya and what they are doing and maybe other countries in Africa will follow suit. Your Mirabilia lady is gorgeous and of coourse the house! As for the wildfires in Greece, its unbelievable, the temperature today was 40 c in the shade ! God bless those fire fighters and the two pilots we lost! Love your videos, you and your husband have a nice repo together ! Thank you !
Thanks for your kind words, Michelle. This summer has been so brutal in so many places. Just terrible the heat and loss of life and property. No doubt you've heard about the terrible fire in Hawaii last week. I hope things are improving in Greece. Take care and stay cool.
Another great video. I laughed at Gary's commentary throughout it. I loved your talk about Africa and Rhode Island. However, Gary's comment about Rhode Island not being part of New York City almost had me in tear from laughter. I was born in Rhode Island. One thing however, I was a bit disappointed that there was not a close up of the progress on Rose Trellis Inn. The before photo was shown and Amy talked about what she had done, but it was difficult to see without zooming in on the video what she was talking about.
Thanks for your feedback, Tina! We'll make sure to include a close-up on Rose Trellis Inn on the next update! Should have caught that during editing. :) Clearly you and Gary have some shared "trauma" around how the rest of the country thinks about Rhode Island. ;)
It was very interesting listening your trips. Thanks for sharing some pictures. I would love to see more of both places. I’ve never been to either place, and I’m sure your English will all come back to you. 🙃 Have a great week!
Would Gary please consider doing a little talk about the characters in the vignette please, pretty please!?! I'm always intrigued by them but not familiar with the charaters. I love the superhero movies and watched quite a few with my hubby! And Amy, that peacock blue scarf looks amazing on you with your hair color❤ I loved you talking about the farming practices Amy! So interesting❤ And now I have to ask, Gary what was the bad foof? Or perhaps it's safer to ask, what was the good food?
Hi Rebecca! Your wish is our command. Gary will talk about his action figure vignette in the update video. :) Thanks for your sweet comment on the scarf. That's one of my favorite colors. I picked it up from a roadside seller on a trip to Ethiopia a few years ago, and I love it! I wish Gary had elaborated more on good food vs. bad food from his trip. The only negative thing he mentioned to me was a dinner out with friends where the company was excellent, but the food was disappointing given how pricy the restaurant was. I'm guessing he meant that. :)
Beautiful stitching and lots of laughter...what a nice mix. Love the travel stories and all of the information that you share. I think backstitching on the sign might look good. Perhaps it would give you the opportunity to add something personal like date the inn was established, etc. instead of menu info.
Thanks, Theresa! I love the idea of adding the date the inn was established! I'll have to take a look at it and see if I can make the shading work for that. Thanks for the suggestion!
Sometimes adulting can get in the way of stitching 🥴. Really enjoy the banter between you and Gary. Your collective WIPs are progressing along nicely. Look forward to your next video. Patricia P.S. I've been to Roger Williams Park and enjoyed some good food from RI. I'm originally from MA.
Hi Gary and Amy! I should have a WIP parade, but it scares me 😮 It's funny you call your dogs "doggo's" My daughter calls her two "doggo's". Gary is funny about your english. The cardinal chart is beautiful. Gary, what a beautiful park. And tell me about humidity and smokey skies from the Canadian fires. I live in northeast Pennsylvania. Wishing both of you a great week!
I would like to vote yes for a WIP parade on your channel. :) I hope conditions are improving in Pennsylvania. This summer has been so brutal for so many areas. I love that your daughter calls her two dogs "doggos". Poor Bear and Sophie have so many silly nicknames to answer to. Depending on the day, they are called everything from Beans to Jellies to Pirates. :)
LOL! I'm not gonna lie; the physical toll is no joke. About 10 years ago, I had to fly from Kenya to Seattle for one day because I had to be home for something I couldn't miss, and 24 hours later I headed right back. That. Was. Brutal. Never again.
Great projects. I used the quote from Gary's "Women who behave" project to replace the quote in Fabulous Women in History by Cloudsfactory. I liked that quote better. 😂
Thanks for the video you two. So much stitching this time! I don't think that backstitching the sign on the full coverage will look strange - give it a go? You could personalize it. It's good to hear that Sophie is doing well after her surgery. And it's so interesting to hear about both of your work ventures. I'm off to find Gazza's doco now!
Thanks for the vote on the backstitching. I think I might try it. If I hate it, I can always frog it out. Hope you're well and your folks are continuing to have good recoveries.
Can you explain how you are stitching you mentioned half stitch on the heaven and earth pattern can you tell me the size of the pattern? Happy stitching 🐾🐕🦺
This update should have been titled Gary’s Unhinged Comments. Or maybe Amy Struggles With Words. 😂 “What kind of torture person would just ask someone to do that??” “ShE dIdNt HaVe No DrEsS 🤪” “I have to fix a house, you know, before August.” “Hence the microphone… what am I talking about?” Oh Sophie! Not the donut of shame! And a rat tail?? Poor thing. Turns out rock bottom has a basement. Justice for Window Guardian!
Hi Amy I think Gary is doing too much work for his quarter cross stitch maybe Google quarters Crosstitch I don’t mean to be rude just will saving him time Love watching you both together you have so much fun😊
Love that Gary makes you laugh!
I could listen to you two for hours! Thank you for sharing!
Wow, thank you!
Loved hearing about your Africa trip. Glad Bear is doing well.
🤗🌻❤ Happy Stitching!!! Thank you so very much for Sharing!!!
Thanks, Karen!

Fascinating to learn about Africa…thank you. You two get a lot done even though you are amazingly busy!
Thank you!
Another great video. Love learning about your lives. Reunions are so wonderful!! Take care guys!!!
Thanks, Connie! Hope you and the family are well!

I wrote this comment before you spoke about English/Swahili. That just proves my point of 'with emotion' above. 😂😂
