    Such a useful breakdown-thank you for covering the nuances of APA citations! 📚 I used to get really confused about where to place in-text citations when paraphrasing, especially in longer paragraphs. That's when I started using BelikeNative, and it’s been a lifesaver. Not only does it help me paraphrase correctly, but it also takes care of APA citations, ensuring they’re perfectly formatted every time. It saves me from second-guessing and makes my writing flow better. Anyone else struggle with APA formatting, or do you have any tips to share?

    Hello again. At age 61, I just received my 15-hour Neuroleadership Certificate from the graduate school at American Public University. This week I started on my master's degree, which I hope to complete in January of 2025. Your channel and Mike Clayton's channel provide a lot of helpful content. Thank you.

    One of the most valuable videos ! Thank you so much! Many of the students or new researchers with so much knowledge inside their mind, they can't (including me) write even half of a paper. We read so many things about AI, searching bibliography tips or summarizing papers but noone says anything about the writing methodology which is also extremely important. I wanted to ask when one has made a synthesis matrix excel for example where the same information is being given in multiple papers (ex: Colorectal cancer epidemiology incidence data....) how i cite them all together? putting them in a row after the first sentence?or inside the same paragraph sparse...
    Thank you, please continue to guide us on the writing methodology. (ps. I always thought that one must put the citation at the end of the paragraph of what he wants to cite for....)

    I am really confused with the first and second examples. If you are supposed to use an in-text citation at every paraphrased statement, then why would you only include an in-text citation after the first sentence? Shouldn't there be an in-text citation after each sentence?

    Hello, I have a question on whether or not it matters if the citation of the APA reference matters compared to the writing. For example, I had written the text in Time New Roman size twelve and the APA reference above the text is Times New Roman size 9. The only reason I have it as a different size is because the spacing will be messed up if changed to a bigger font. I need the spacing and indents perfect for this writing so I wanted to make sure if this technicality is okay to have.

    Hello. What if the content of the original work that I want to paraphrase contains multiple sources. Do I need to cite all the sources? Or just the one author of the paper?

  • @rajeshgund2031
    @rajeshgund2031 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Then, how and where should the author's opinion be added?

    What if you are paraphrasing multiple sentences in one paragraph (synthesizing a point) that are on different pages in a book? Should the write include (p. 48-70) to indicate the findings on multiple pages?

    if you are paraphrasing and mention the citation in the first sentence do you also end the paragraph with a citation?

    Chelsea, again you are giving wrong information in your example. You only put (author, year) the first time - when the same author, year is repeated n the paper, you omit the year.

    • @smartstudent_official
      @smartstudent_official  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, thank you for your feedback. However, the omit rule only applies to including multiple narrative citations. You would never exclude the year element from a parenthetical citation. Likewise, if it is a narrative citation is proceeding a parenthetical, you would include both elements as well.

    • @ebiles
      @ebiles 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@smartstudent_official Thanks, Chelsea, for responding to me. I double-checked the APA instructions online before writing you. You are correct about the multiple narrative "citations" for quotes rather than the simple reference.

    The actual examples at hand were clear, but I could not help but be drawn in by how off the first sentence of the sample writing is. "In the early 1900's, out of Jeff Bezos garage (Bezos)" is quite a start to a sentence. Maybe this is why you shouldn't be making videos about using GPT in essays.
