    World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen tops the field for the Airthings Masters, the 2nd stage of the Champions Chess Tour. The 12-player event will be played online on chess24 from December 26th to January 3rd and, as the first Major of the tour, features a $200,000 prize fund with $60,000 for 1st place. The winner also qualifies directly to the Grand Final in September 2021.
    The tournament starts with a 3-day preliminary stage where the players play each other once before the top 8 go forward to a knockout. The time control is 15 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second increment from move 1. No draw offers are allowed before move 40. Official website: championschesstour.com

    I read in one of the interviews that Dubov learned chess by reading Kasparov's My Great Predecessors series of chess books. That is simply amazing for a player growing up in the era of computer chess and online coaching, and can probably explain the creativity in Dubov's games, for he is playing from the playbook perfected by past chess champions.

    I've watched most of Magnus's games on this channel, and ONE THING seems perfectly clear: He is the best end-game player in the world.
    (Just got into chess recently, sorry if that's like a obvious observation like, "MJ Is good!")

    At 11:00 check my ideaout , instead of Rh3, How about Rf3 followed by Rook takes knight, and then whatever you play , white knight will fork and everything will be exchanged giving 3v2 pawn endgame which I guess must be winning,lemme know the refutation

    It's a shame to see the middle-game creativity of Dubov resulting in a loss?
    How about the fact that Carlsen's endgame creativity results in a win?

    I don't understand what is a shame in Magnus crushing creative players. He does so because he understands their creativity and tries to undermine it. He just tries to win and I don't think that's a shame.

  • @aluminiumknight4038
    @aluminiumknight4038 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Dubov's creativity gave him an equal position against Magnus which is amazing, but at that point it's becoming more and more about precision.. So I'm not mad at Magnus for beating creative players, he didn't really beat the creativity, he even put a good show himself here. He just punishes the lack of precision.
