The part where Tylor scared Ben was really heartbreaking, not only cause it was a flashback to Sully scaring Boo, but because Tylor had a panic attack too. I can tell by reality distortion in his eyes and shortness of breath. First it was Chase in the Paw Patrol movie, then Puss in The Last Wish, then Hunter in the Owl House, Floor in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Moon Girl, and now THIS. Man, anxiety attacks are just going around movies and shows these days. Anyways…that moment stung me. He sure learnt about what Sully meant by changing from scaring to laughter. It was even more shocking Randall came back too. If we get a third season, PLEASE let Boo come back!

Especially in the last two episodes cause Tylor being forced to scare him was gut wrenching, especially with Ben sobbing "I thought we were friends". It only made me glad they made up in the end and actually played with him and even hugged him for all of montropolis to see. Season 2 is the true genuine sequel to Monsters Inc that people wanted since it takes place after the epilogue of the first movie. I love the ins and outs of the energy industry of how the companies worked, like seeing Monsters Inc’s laugh floor and Fear CO’s scare floor. I honestly thought season 2 would involve the college more as they build up on laugh power, but the story is a nice change that improves on the lore overall. And all the little Easter eggs that connect to the movies also helped build up potential plot ideas for season 3. Like Rosie who was one of the sorority goth girls that worked at Monsters Inc, became a jokester, but somehow left to work at FearCo as a scarer and is now fired from that too (that was a crazy offscreen character arc). The relationship with humans is also a crazy thing to notice as now the kids know about the monsters and is willing to laugh for them, which leads me to hope for more with them a bit, like maybe a return of Boo but with more lines since at this point in time of the story, it’s been 9 months, so she probably has a better grasp of speaking.
I also see some potential story arcs that could happen in season 3, such as Duncan and Declan being potential twin brothers; Fritz and Joy maybe building something of a relationship.
Also what was your favorite Easter egg? Mine in season 2 was the stoop sale where it was revealed that Mike and Sully’s frat brothers Terri and Terry are famous scarers. I also like how Carla is the major vet of the show, was seen in university working at monsters Inc and was able to change her career seamlessly to a jokester. Now she got a scare card and a jokester card

Roger was the best character in the show. It is really hard to add a new character to an iconic group without it feeling too crowded or unnecessary, but from the moment Roger first appeared, he immediately fit into the M.I.F.T. team! He was hilarious, passionate about Monsters Inc. (despite his father's history there), and in the final battle against Randal, it really felt like he wasn't even a new character, but a character we have known for a long time. I like how it was Tylor and Val who convinced everyone Laugh Power is the way to go. Mike and Sulley do their best, but they have to sell it as a business first because they are tied to it as such, not to mention they are practically veterans who are trying to convince the masses their method is better than their reliable method.
Tylor and Val, two young monsters, one of which is a prime scarer, showing exactly why it's a good idea with a live demonstration showed everyone why it works and why it's morally better. They showed Ben having fun, no different from a regular monster child, and tugging everyone's heartstrings at the sight of it. They managed to convince the majority of people that laugh power is viable and more powerful. I doubt it will convince everyone to stop scream power, it's too embedded in their society.

The roster of new characters, the struggle of Tylor between pursuing his talent and staying loyal to his Inc buds, Val being a lonely college dropout with a jokey talent, Roger being the new addition to MIFT, the concept of Scare power + Laugh power = explosion, and even the subplot of Tylor scaring Ben to tears and actually regretting it and later reconciling with the help of Val. One of the things that I appreciate most about monsters inc. season 2 is the whole thing about scream vs laugh power. In the first season, they were simply trying to keep monsters inc. up and running and adapting to fully using laugh power. But, in the second season, laugh power and scream power come to a head. Scream power is seen as traditional and "embracing who you are". Meanwhile, laugh is more about progress and adapting in order to keep the city running. Idk why, but it reminds me heavily of Frostpunk 2 where the city eventually has to adapt to a new source of energy, but not everyone will like that or others will take advantage of it, such as when in season 2, we saw that they were combing laugh power and scream power, which had unforeseen consequences.
They did NOT need to hit it hard for season 2. I really enjoyed the themes they were presenting or possibly had slightly hidden in it. Good season, I actually enjoyed watching it.

I’ve got some ideas for season 3:
    1. It isn’t clear if FearCo was completely shut down at the end of season 2, if they haven’t: they should make another Epsiode where they play softball but this time monsters Inc wins. This would be a great moment in the series as it would mark their very first victory in the softball games, which would be a very uplifting moment after loosing for 40 years straight. Continuing with the idea that FearCo hasn’t shut down, they would have to rebrand because of people wanting laugh power (most likely changing their name to LaughCo), they could have it so their new CEO makes a more gradual change to laugh power, as a contrast to Sulley ‘all in’ approach.
    2. In Season 2 Epsiode 8, Mike claims he’s making a play called ‘New Canisters’ to hide the fact that the canisters were leaking (or so he believed at the time). It would be really funny if they made an episode where they tried to make a play called ‘New Canisters’ with Sully to direct and Mike to do his ‘New Canister Dance’. This would be a call back to ‘Put that kid back where it came from or so help me!’. As for the play itself: it could be about how the monsters adapted to the change from scream to laugh, and could also potentially be used to make meta commentary: in a similar vein to the Ember Island Players Epsiode from ATLA.
    3. They could have some scenes with Waternoose and Johnny Worthington III, maybe see their perspective change whilst their sharing a cell in prison.
    4. It would be interesting so see how Johnny’s family are coping as a result of his arrest. They will likely be dealing with the emotional fallout from discovering that their dad who they loved was actually a crook and will likely have to live with the stigma of being associated with him, in fact Roger Roger’s will have had to have dealt with that when his father (Waternoose) was discovered to be making a scream extractor: so they could potentially bond over that shared experience.
    5. In season 2: it’s implied that the members of Oozma Kappa were able to become successful scarers, which means they will have to adapt now that laugh power is becoming a thing: Mike could train them up to be jokesters the same way he did to be scarers in MU.
    6. Randall should come back as a villain.

1 a) They could make it so that which ever team wins gets two tickets to Harry Hausens. This would mean that if Monsters Inc finally won: the episode would end in a very heartwarming moment with Mike and Ceelia finally being able to enjoy a meal together at Harry Hausens. Also the Epsiode could be a two partner with Mike trying to train the team to victory in the first part: similar to how he trained Oozma Kappa in MU. The second part would be the victory: they could even have Waternoose and Johnny Worthington spectating the game as they are allowed a day outside of prison and have Johnny making a smug/gloating remark about how FearCo have won all 40 of the past games and how Monsters Inc are so useless that they’re going to loose this one again marking their 41st conservative victory: only to then witness his company loose for the first time.
6. Randall should come back as a villain.
    7. They could show how Sully’s family (who were initially established to have a strong legacy of being great scarers) are reacting to the change from scare power to laugh power.
    8. They could have an Epsiode where Mike finally does his paperwork on time but because of some unexpected circumstances: he looses all his paper work and has to scramble around trying to fix everything only for the episode to end with Roz calmly telling him that once again, he’s late, with her usual dry humor.
    9. Mike could propose to Ceelia and or Tylor could propose to Val or both.

That was so good and I do agree. Season 2 was definitely a very good sequel to Monsters Inc and every Saturday I was looking forward to the next episode next Saturday. The plot twists of Roger being Henry J Waternoose’s son, Randall being behind everything and working with Johnny Worthington, and Chet Alexander secretly working against Johnny are well written twists. Randall being at large definitely does hint the possibility of a third season or a third movie being the series finale. If Waternoose does appear he can be voiced by Kelsey Grammer since he was originally going to voice him in Monsters University. Maybe he can be like Yokai from Big Hero 6 of this series. Or perhaps it can just end it here because it’s such a good ending and Randall just remains at large because like Mr Potter from It’s A Wonderful Life loneliness is what he asked for and his karma since he had panty of chances to remain friends with Mike and redeem himself. It would be a unique fate for a Disney and Pixar villain. Pinocchio does show that sometimes criminals get away. I had three possibilities:
    1. Johnny Worthington really did change for the better, but just believes scream power is better than laugh power. Did have good intentions for Tylor.
    2. Roger is evil either on his own or was hired by Worthington to sabotage Monsters Inc and frame Tylor to manipulate him into working at Fear Co. Considering the fake nice person cliche and the telephone conversation sounded like a villain henchmen being afraid to tell there boss they failed and arguing with them.
    3. Randall Boggs was behind everything.

Season 2... we didn't expect it, we didn't ask for it, but when it arrived... my goodness! Season 1 was underwhelming and kinda boring. Didn't do the movie too much justice. But then comes season 2 and not only did it redeemed the first season, but did the movie proper justice. Many people were upset that Tylor's supposed character development in the first season was seemingly being wasted in the next one, but it actually made things better. If anything, it was his desire to be a jokester that came in too fast. Thankfully season 2 fixed that by making him have doubts about his decision. You work hard at being something and then suddenly want to change it? Yeah, that didn't convince me, but the second season fixed that. And it was an amazing touch having Tylor go through a similar scenario Sulley did to finally understand what he said about Boo.
Then the characters. Roger Rogers was a very welcoming addition. We were all fooled into thinking he was a secret bad guy, especially when we learned he was Waternoose's son, but not only is he as nice as he first appears, he is NOTHING like his father, and that is a marvelous lesson. Just because some of your family members are bad doesn't mean you're going to be that way too.
And Johnny. Another character that fooled us. We also think he mellowed out and change for the better. After all, Sulley went through that jerk phase too and changed for the better. Johnny however, not only was he the same jerk as before, he actually got worse. And that was another great addition. Some people change for the better when they grow, but others don't and might become even worse than before. It happens.

He could burn down Boos door so he'd never see her again or he can raise the stakes and kidnap Boo making him choose between her or Montropolis Energy supply, which mean Sullivan will either lose Boo for good or keep Boo safe but wont be able to return her home because she has trauma and can't laugh.

I enjoyed this season a ton, and I agree with pretty much everything you stated, great video ^^
Only nitpick I have personally is...I feel like Johnny Worthington's villain-reveal was semi-forced. Don't get me wrong, there were just enough antagonistic vibes from him throughout the season, but with the way they built him up as this charismatic community hero, family man- err, monster, and supportive figure towards for Tylor, it kinda made the reveal and his actions in the finale feel a bit 180 degrees. 🤨

I really liked how this season connected the show & both films together. Fan discourse always made it feel like all three of them were separate entities/universes, but it genuinely felt like the plot elements & characters just blended everything together and summed up the themes of both films in the best way possible
I already liked season 1 since Tylor’s story and the transition to laugh power felt relatable between the wave of layoffs and the aftermath of the pandemic, but season 2 took everything I liked about season & cranked it up to 11

I think it would've been more mature for Johny to say that fear is a necessary emotion for a child to feel in order for the child to be able to handle fear when adulthood comes. Or have Johny say that a reliable source of power is needed for Monstropolis to transition from fear to laugh power to avoid black outs.
