This car is for the people who actually doesn't want usual AMG V8 sound. I am one of them, but the problem is, most AMG fans don't like it, and the ones who like it are probably not AMG fans. If the engine revs over 8k like a Ferrari turbo V8 or a Mclaren it would have helped but unfortunately it doesn't.

Flat-plane crank V8. I don't know why but the Shelby GT350 sounds so much more robust and V8y even though its a flat crank

It's not so much that it doesn't rip off, more that it doesn't cave in the rear deck by pushing down too hard on the panel.

@@ImBarryScottCSS well the boot is carbon fibre for a start, carbon fibre has a high tensile strength of 500ksi of force as an average and can be much higher depending on the process to develop, given that AMG have at least made an average carbon fibre boot (not including extended processes for more strength) the boot should technically withstand 35153.48kg of force/cm². If it was standard steel there may be a chance of the rear deck collapsing depending on thickness of overall construction.
I'm a little late, but I'll comment anyway. When the Manthey Racing Kit for the GT2RS was released, many people said that the price for the rear wing was a bit high. The reason for the price is that the original wing is mounted on the sides of the hood. The new one would generate so much more downforce that it would dent the hood. So they not only had to design a new wing, but also the hood and the screw points for the larger wing so that it can be screwed directly to the body
I'm pretty sure the flat plane crank aligns well with the introduction of the new C63: if they can claim their V8 sounds like a four cylinder, they can claim their four cylinder sounds like a V8.

I said this before elsewhere..but this is one of the few cars that actually sound bad. What I mean by that is that the sound is not simply “not good.” The sound is actually very unpleasant to hear and deters me from liking this car because of how bad it sounds. It truly sound absolutely awful despite having outrageous performance.

Every version of this car is stunning. And prices for the base car isn't even ridiculous. I think a used one is an amazing value. Plus with some light tuning the base engine is an animal. Mercedes is leading the pack with this one.
The flat crank mod is very noticeable! It doesn't even sound like a Mercedes V8 anymore.
The sound is bad. Not just neutral or mediocre, it literally sounds bad. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a sports car with this bad of a noise.

Flat plane doesn't mean sounds bad, infact sounds better than cross plane for these sort of cars, but Mercedes inexcusable they did bad job with the sound, Jesko also a 2022 car with TTV8 flat plane yet sound million times better

flatplane makes it sound kinda like a ferrari, but with such a low redline it doesn't sound great
The flat plane crank is what makes the sound so different over other amg's. A flat plane crank allows an engine to rev much higher due to lack of counterweights, in turn this allows for more power more easily. Ferrari and McLaren also use flat plane cranks.
And Ford on the Shelbys.

Yes. I can understand all the environmental arguments. But for me it is the combustion engine that puts a car into life, gives it soul and personality and make it become more than just a vehicle that can transport someone from A to B. Cars started to become more boring during the transformation from NA to turbo. The electrification will eventually kill my interest in cars completely.

the fact that its till able to hit 325km/h with the amount of downforce just goes to show how insane mercedes actually is, since they started dominating f1, their track purpose build "street cars" have gone from kinda meh to blindingly fast around a track.

At the 8:02 mark. It’s called the HotV. They place the turbo intakes up top so the air goes in Hot which sends immediate power to the vehicle and reduces turbo lag

This thing with a transformative exhaust on it is easily the best AMG creation since the SLS AMG Black series. Stock the sounds remind me of the McLaren V8s minus the turbo spool.

@@S3Mi87 but that sound does not translate to performance, they are some of the fastest cars(McLaren) in their class anyway. so i do love sound, i have a 454 Chevy, 460 Ford big block in a F100,old C63,M3 V8, and had driven a few McLarens too, including Ferrari 488. but, everyone has to remember, due to Ferrari being a smaller car manufacturer, in numbers of cars made and sold, they have a relaxed EU law that allows their cars to be louder too. so Mercedes Benz, is not that car company. and this is one the reason they had to develop the Black Series and all future AMG's to be quieter. it has never been their fault, and often their cars exceed the current regulations, opting to be ready for the next set of tougher laws. this is fact. so yes they quieter, but they also doing it so they do not get fined or reprimanded by the f....king EU.
but what these cars lack in sound, it makes up for what i prefer, outright performance. also lower profile around the cops.

It's a personal preference with the exhaust sound, but trust me a straight pipe or a exhaust from Brilliant Exhaust Japan or Renntech exhaust will just make it sound like it always deserves to be!
@Kzn Nzn I started to love straight pipes after listening to the Lamborghini Essenza V12, it sounds good... But too loud.... Considering GT Black Series being this quite because of the regulations, straight pipe will do it's justice

As with others on here - just doesn’t sound great… I am sure everything else is beyond amazing.
I had the chance to be a passenger in a GT Black Series. Its not as loud as a lambo but it sounds really impressive nonetheless..
My biggest fear of going this fast would be a deer or something jumping out into the road.

Its applied from the factory, and not by an aftermarket Company. That is the reason why they get away with it.
