I found this very helpful in learning more about using RnB/Hendrix double stops. The perfect way to learn - in a nice arrangement of a song with a terrific chord progression. Thank you.
I have to admit that this piece grew on me as a got more into learning it. It’s one that I would probably not have on a playlist but really like your arrangement as a chord melody. Thanks Adrian!
Adrain, this is an amazing arrangement of Candy Says, and I love the fact that you have given your Patreon subscribers the notation for both Reed and Morrison parts as well so that we can play whatever combination of these that we feel most comfortable with. Thank you so much!
Thanks for this--and your arrangement sounds great. Because you asked, other Reed "says" songs: "Lisa Says" and "Caroline Says" (parts I and II; the latter a reworked "Stephanie Says").
I was lucky enough to see Lou perform the Berlin album live, a few years before he died. It was probably the best concert I've ever seen. He played Satellite of Love as an encore.
Fantastic arrangement-and thanks for both tabs! There is a spectacular exhibit of Lou Reed’s work here in New York at Lincoln Center through the end of March. If you happen to be visiting, definitely go check it out. Some amazing early demo tapes, too.
To come up with this on a Wednesday for Friday, I don't know whether to be intimidated or impressed! Really nice arrangement, it's got me in a Velvets mood. Yes to the chord voicings video. If it sounds like that and can decipher the fretboard I'm all for it . Thanks
There were five Lou Reed/VU "says" songs: "Stephanie Says", "Candy Says", "Lisa Says", "Caroline Says I" and "Caroline Says II". As noted below, "Stephanie Says" and "Caroline Says II" are essentially the same song with identical music, but in different keys and with different lyrics.
Great lesson, and I love the fact that you explained modal interchange and secondary dominants. Lou gave so much shit to music theory but he was very knowledgeable
Beautiful arrangement. What gauge strings are you using? I tried knocking my strat down a tone as you do but with super slinky 9’s it’s tough to keep the intonation. Really love your lessons. Cheers
Oh, great vid, Adrian. Thank you! Funnily enough I was checking out some John Martyn on your gtramp channel and wondering if you would do a vid of his Rather be the Devil at some point when this one dropped. If you're ever wondering on a Wednesday what to do, that is. 🤣
Great video again. After listening to this I have a to ask if you could do something off of Orange Juice's first album "You can't hide your Love Forever". Please. Tbh anything by the wonderful Edwyn Collins.
I think you're a great teacher, you have patience, you speak clearly and slowly and you show all the parts accurately, do you take requests? There's a song by a '60s band called "Le Fleur De Lys" that did a song called "Circles", the main guitar part is said to be Jimmy Page, Andy engineered it, or produced it, it does sound like him playing telecaster, but I've had arguments about it, anyways I figured out some of the song but a lot of it is a bit sloppy or just doesn't follow the scale patterns that you would think it would follow, anyways if you could throw some of that amazing mid 60s psych/rock tune at me I'll send you a Halloween present. Thanks buddy. Cheers. Davey Love
Is there a chance you would someday do the guitar parts for Lou Reed's "Coney Island Baby"?
So happy to see more Velvet Underground
Your guitar tone is SO good in this. A bit of subtle tremolo always livens up a clean guitar sound and makes it sound more interesting.

OMG !!! Sublime, both the material and the arrangement. Thank you Adrian. VU is always a welcome treat. More Stone Roses and VU, please.
You are the best... The dedicaiton to put such a good quality lesson every week is amazing.
Doug Yule’s voice is like butter. It would not sound as delicate with Reed’s voice.
I love these solo arrangements of whole songs - they sound fantastic and are perfect for solo playing.
I've given up trying to play the guitar, but still stop by the channel as the music choice and playing itself tick all the boxes for my ears
I have to admit that this piece grew on me as a got more into learning it. It’s one that I would probably not have on a playlist but really like your arrangement as a chord melody. Thanks Adrian!
Very nice - and on the day ‘Words & Music, May 1965’ is released too. Great timing!
Breath taking play through of an absolute classic.
Love it! Adrian the best teacher out there. One of my fave VU songs (finally got this on vinyl recently).
Adrain, this is an amazing arrangement of Candy Says, and I love the fact that you have given your Patreon subscribers the notation for both Reed and Morrison parts as well so that we can play whatever combination of these that we feel most comfortable with. Thank you so much!
Jaw-dropping, Adrian. Like of combination of Stece Cropper and Sterling Morrison. Marvelous stuff.
Adrien- a video for What Goes On, or a Velvet D tuning medley would be sweet!
Never would have thought of this song. Another great piece of superior content. Many thanks Adrian.
I hadn’t even thought about it, but pale blue eyes would be an incredible tutorial
Check in his older videos, he has one for Pale Blue Eyes.
@@mkraulis thanks mate, just seen it
Fantastic arrangement of a beautiful song. VU lives.
You're super talented bro. And I like your easy approach to teaching guitar. Thanks for the info

och that's brilliant Adrian - wonderful track beautifully interpreted and explained.

du … du du wah … lovely arrangement, one of my favorites, thanks for sharing
Great arrangement of one of my favorite songs.
Not sure I ever really realized what a lovely song that is, even though I’ve heard it probably 500 times.
It works, the Fender guitar works smooth tones and great video.
Thanks Adrian
Randy, Great North Woods, Mi.

Yes to the chord voicings video. If it sounds like that and can decipher the fretboard I'm all for it . Thanks

Genius adaptation of the song. Useful tutorial for other songs
A brilliant , beautiful song ! Thank you for the lesson .
Not a band I've followed - but this is a truly beautiful stand alone guitar tune.
That was really great! This song has a special place in my heart and your arrangement was beautiful. 💕
incredible arrangement

And John Cale being the rebel he is, changed the tense into past for his song "Sylvia said"
Love your channel Adrian. Always can’t wait to Friday!
Definitely interested in a chord tutorial along the lines you mentioned near the end. And what a great tremolo sound!
Lovely arrangement
Wow, thanks for this. Love this song!
brilliant as always.
Pure indulgence, in the most complintary way. 👍👍👍
Brilliant - thanks!
Great lesson, and I love the fact that you explained modal interchange and secondary dominants. Lou gave so much shit to music theory but he was very knowledgeable
Great job. I appreciate any VU covers.
The Missing Boy live or If You Were Me, thanks.
Lou Reed in the style of Hank Marvin? That's fooking genius!😃 Can we have a whole LP please?

Beautiful arrangement. What gauge strings are you using? I tried knocking my strat down a tone as you do but with super slinky 9’s it’s tough to keep the intonation. Really love your lessons. Cheers
Always a good question on a 1st date: ”So, do you like the Velvet Underground?“
LOL True but I'd still be single. 😆
@@ue4058 To be honest, I have had to compromise.
well done , can you do "some kinds of love" or Tom Verlaine's "breaking in my heart"?
Oh, great vid, Adrian. Thank you! Funnily enough I was checking out some John Martyn on your gtramp channel and wondering if you would do a vid of his Rather be the Devil at some point when this one dropped. If you're ever wondering on a Wednesday what to do, that is. 🤣
good,very very beautiful arrangement!!😂thanks❤
Quality VU track. Any chance for a "I'll Be Your Mirror" arrangement ?
Can’t go wrong with VU
I wish I had the luxury of long boney fingers.
That's what she said!
"If i find it funny while he's singing it, its because I'm identifying like mad"
Great video again. After listening to this I have a to ask if you could do something off of Orange Juice's first album "You can't hide your Love Forever". Please. Tbh anything by the wonderful Edwyn Collins.
Lou Reed (and the others V.U.) are smiling from the Heaven...
