    We bought our 19 Outback in November. We had the choice of a new 19 or new 20. We chose the 19 because the infotainment system in the 20 added so many more steps to do anything with. The 20 system is terribly slow. It takes 3-4 steps just to get the heated seats to work, where as the 19 only takes 1 step.
    All in all, we Love our 19. And yes when it wears out, we’ll replace it with another Outback.

    I think the 2019 is a better-looking car on the outside

    Don't like the head unit in the 2020, physical buttons are better, easier to manipulate. 3.6r is also the best engine. Too bad it's been discontinued. Glad I went with the 2019.

      @@gustavopaulette3496 negative sir. I saw what was coming in the 2020, and scooped up a 2019. I certainly don't get upset about having an old car. No car stays new. My other vehicle is even older and I'm very happy with it as well.

      @@hkarogiannis7074 Good move! I had a 2019 with a 2.5 engine it had plenty of Pep it was fun to drive very nimble. I just got the 20 20 and I can't believe the difference in feel. This thing feels like a tank compared to the 2019. They were supposed to improve motor a little bit and is nowhere near as powerful as the 2019 2.5 this thing goes nowhere when you give it the gas. It's a got about as much pain as a pregnant elephant. I'm very disappointed

      @@jimkantor1807 that's VERY interesting remark. Maybe it needs some time for the break-in? Where's still no new gen. OBK here in Europe, but the old / current gen. is now priced very nicely. Hard choice

    I don't understand why every video on Subaru outback 2020 talks about higher trim only. What about the basic or convenient trim? are they not also Subaru Outback 2020? Oh I see, Basic is second class and generate no profit. Mind you, there is also tonne of Basic buyers out there just like myself. I only buy basic because it cheap to maintain ( less technology) and I save thousands of dollars. Please show us too the convenient or basic model, will you?

    Thanks for the description of the visible changes. But, mate, how it drives? ;) Your forgot to mention the most important thing! :)The car moved to the new platform. Is it a different feel from the previous model? This is the most interesting to compare. And this is that which is not possible to see from the picture. Would be great to hear about that things, please.

    I have an Onyx XT and love it! I do have a question regarding Apple CarPlay. While the car is moving, I cannot select music from my phone library. When the car stops, it becomes available again. Is there a setting to change so music is always available? Everything else (radio, XM, podcasts, etc) works while the car is in motion.

    All those electronic 'gizmo's' to go bad after a while....what a waste!......and how about Subaru's nonsense concerning 'safety', with larger displays, etc. to take the eyes off of the road? And, prices creep up, all in the name of competition...a tough place for an auto maker to be in, who is not named Toyota/Honda!

    What's also different is about $4000 in the price, specially if you bought in August as the changeover occurred.. I'm not sure all the new fancy things are worth 4000 bucks.

    • @iCodyonline
      @iCodyonline 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Latsnojoke Lee really? The 2019 outback limited 2.5i started at 32,845 and the new 2020 limited 2.5i starts at 33,445. That’s a $600 increase. I’m not sure where you got $4,000. Model to model, prices increased between $400-$800.

    I like how Suburu does the same as their other boxer engine partner (Porsche with the 911), and they don't radically change their designs from generation to generation ... all these cars going retro now like Ford Bronco, and Mustang .. if they'd just left their original designs alone, they'd not have to be "retro"

    I like the 19 better. I test drove both the 19 and the 20 model in the limited trim level and decided to go with the 19 for its more simplistic and imo better interior design. Didnt like the climate controls being all digital on the screen either on the 20 model as well as the start and stop nonsense

    • @mark8684

      David Porter Yes. Autoline recently had access to some Subaru internal documents that indicated Subaru is suffering quality issues due to rapid growth, high turnover and about half of their suppliers not meeting their quality targets.
      My 2017 Outback Premium has had: loose roof ditch molding, loose interior rear view mirror, rattle when going over small bumps (turned out to be a steering gear issue), seat belts that don’t retract properly, unable to remove key from ignition when putting trans in park (intermittent), uses engine coolant (have to add coolant every few thousand miles), received letter from Subaru extending the CVT transmission warranty (which means they are having problems with this trans), recall for the instrument cluster. There are published Service Bulletins for many of these issues and many more.
