    I've been using TSR3 for 2 years now. My SS is around 106, my miss strike is toe and I have the weight Slightly toe. I miss more fairways than I should when I'm not my best, usually hooks with occasional huge block right. Probably need to consider TRS2 for some more spin and forgiveness. Thanks.

      @AskGolfNut  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The TSR3 would be the best option to potentially get your longest drives but unless you are a very good driver of the ball with good consistent strike and also head dynamics then the TSR2s increased forgiveness and spin profile would most likely be a better 'on average' option 👍🏻

    Jay- which drivers do you think are worth testing for average during speed of 90mph between Titleist, Taylor made and callaway? I hadn’t considered totelist but your reviews suggest otherwise

  • @rlbjr

    @AskGolfNut My bad miss is a high toe, low spin, pull hook which is either OB or close to it. My heel side miss is a push fade. It is usually in the rough and playable, but almost never OB. Would the TSR3 with the weight in the toe help protect me from that wicked hook OB by minimizing the draw gear effect?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without seeing and understanding your swing personally, I'd have to give an educated guess..... Yes normally the movement of the weight towards the toe side of the club allows for less head rotation and also decreased gear effect from toe based strikes.... Again this is a generalisation so would want to know your detailed delivery data / characteristics before making a more definitive answer 👍

    Went for my driver fitting this morning, tested existing Mizuno STX, Stealth 2, Ping G430 Max, Paradym and TSR 3, TSR 3 wound up working best for me, best distance and dispersion.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The TSR3 out of all of the rest is the lowest spinning design so should potentially go longer. The fact that it was also the straightest shows just how good the club is, or at least how well it was custom fitted to you, so great news on the new big stick in the bag 👍🏻

    • @dougneal6251
      @dougneal6251 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s interesting. I went for a fitting today and tried the same 4 drivers as you. I was a little longer with the Ping but gave up a little distance for accuracy. With the Titleist I was hitting the middle of the fairway with almost every drive. So I went with the TSR 3 and can’t wait to try it on the course!

  • @rlbjr
    @rlbjr ปีที่แล้ว

    @AskGolfNut In regards to moving the weight in the TSR3 to behind the strike area, would a driver with a moveable weight like the Ping G430 have the same effect by moving the weight to behind the typical strike area?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If would but different weighted drivers react differently around the CG axis of the shaft so it would be very worthy of a test. Basically there is normally 2 schools of thought regarding weight movements.
      1. Changes release patterns (dace rotation)
      2. Moves effective CG towards to the strike point to reduce gear effect tilt axis. (this option has the result though of not favourable efficiency numbers).
      Titleist choose to run the 2nd school of thought, where ping run more of the 1st 👍

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Erik, being totally honest due to the lack of sales of this unique club and therefore potential appetite for views, I didn't really look into sourcing the TSR4. I will though if I get sufficient requests for it. The tests I do take a long time to collect the data at quite the deficit to my ageing body 😊 so being totally honest, I'd want to be fairly sure it'd be worth my while before doing it 👍👍

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi hbyrdut, you can but the spin model is very very sensitive to human use. As in at that, baseline spin profile any miss hits that encourage any vertical gearing can drastically effect distance also the lower the spin profile the greater the potential for tilt axis curvature. 👍

      @@AskGolfNut Can you tell me if the Mizuno driver you tested is on par with the TSR lineup? I have a chance to buy the Mizuno ST Z 220 for a good price but scared to pass on the tsr .

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว

      The new ST230 series is every bit as good as anything else, as is everything else as good as those. The main difference between all the premium brands is basically the quality of the fitting as getting the correct head and shaft combination will be the determining factor. The STZ220 is an older model so won't quite have the distance profile that the new one has but should be every bit as forgiving though 👍

  • @tonybytheway7543
    @tonybytheway7543 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks Jay. I hit the TSR3 but not sure it's forgiving enough for me. I like the look of the TSR2 but it spins too much. In your opinion with the same shaft, how would this compare to the ST-Z 230 speed and accuracy wise? I have the original ST-Z and love it but looking for an upgrade. No option for me to hit them side by side, or in my preferred shaft.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow thats a tricky one Tony. Its all guesswork I'm afraid and my answer also won't help that much. I've had experience with both sides of the coin where people have found either or better than each other depending on the fitting and swing in question. They are both really really solid options. The 2 and Z are very close to each other, the Z in the Hulk Shaft will give you the best possible spin numbers without going crazy on the shaft. The Z is a very stable head. You wouldn't be wrong to go with either....

    • @tonybytheway7543
      @tonybytheway7543 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AskGolfNut I get it Jay. Currently have a Venus TR Red in the TSR, think a Blue might be better to help reduce launch and spin. Just hard to find anywhere that has the options to try. Going by what you said in your ST-Z 230 video, if it's as fast as anything out there (i.e. the TSR3) but is more stable and forgiving (like the TSR2) then the Mizuno should be a good bet?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a good test, but unfortunately as you said its more of a plunge than a test as you can't demo them. 🤔🤔🤔

  • @gzr3000
    @gzr3000 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, those results are how this driver (with that shaft) works for you, and your swing. If you got fitted for it, you'd probably get a higher spinning shaft. For me there's no low spin issues with the TSR3. If anything I'd try and find a lower spinning shaft for it.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว

      As always a review is only what one person finds at the time of filming to give an opinion. That opinion isn't always right just what they've seen themselves. 👍

  • @nielsaxelsson
    @nielsaxelsson ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I was very curious about this one. Thanks for doing all three TSR's on the same day and releasing them in short succession - makes comparing easier and more valid. 👍
    I actually got fit for TSR3 (9 degrees) last week on a Titleist demo day with a Titleist expert fitter and a very experienced all-round fitter - a very nice experience.
    My baseline old Callaway Epic Sub Zero was spinning in the 1800/1900's, so low spin mishits went VERY far left, which is what I see on course.
    The TSR3 with Tensei AV Blue 65S straightened comparable misses out significantly, and gave a better flight and dispersion on normal shots. Spin in the 2200's and nice flight. Then they discussed among themselves, and suggested I tried the Graphite Design Tour AD UB6 S (premium option).
    WOW! 😍Suddenly I had a complete connection with the head, shaft all through the swing from the first go. It was a transformative feeling. It simply felt like nothing I have ever tried - in a very good way🥰. The balls I hit almost touched each other on the Trackman screen. Not longer than the Tensei, but much tighter, and MUCH more fun to hit! 🤩
    I would have been quite content with the Tensei, but I am not sure I can go back, now that I have tasted the forbidden fruit of the Graphite Design. 🤓
    So the plan is now to go to a neutral fitter (there are very few of those here in Denmark) to validate the result with the TSR3, and based on your reviews on TSR2 & TSR3, I will insist on also trying TSR2, as I am NOT a perfect ball striker(!), so I need to investigate if the TSR2 is the better overall choice for me. I intend to compare to the Mizuno 230 ST-Z and maybe the Paradym, And first and foremost, I will have a very high focus on the shafts for each of them, as I apparently am quite shaft sensitive. 🧐

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว

      Always good to get a really good informative fitting experience as unfortunately they are seldom common nowadays. People can learn so so much, not just what they need, but more importantly why.
      Seems going the Graphite Design will be an upcharge shaft at the cost of not sure what, but if its going to be a long term purchase then justification is a touch easier.
      Let me know how you get on with the rest of the fittings, be really interesting to find out how everything compares 👍
      Thanks very much for the Super Thanks, its very much appreciated 👍 👍

    If given those clubs to choose from which would you go with?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The two drivers are very much different in their profiles and who they are targeted towards, the TSR3 will be for players needing a lower spin profile (not as aggressive as the TSR4) and the MAX is more forgiveness first but with a more favourable spin profile but not as low as TSR3. 👍

  • @treybenton6087
    @treybenton6087 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love the content Jay. Lots of players on the tours I play use the TSR 3 series and I must say generally all hit it mid traj. with fast ball speeds. It’s a nice sounding driver and does perform in the right hands. But I’ll put my Mizuno STZ 230 up against it any day.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Trey, the difference I've found with the 230 over TSR3 is that the miss hit spin profile doesn't quite drop as low. Good for me as I don't quite have enough speed to see the miss hit profile of the TSR3 be beneficial. Where as the 230 miss hits are slightly higher spinning so I don't have the problem with the ball maybe falling out of the air like the risk with TSR3 👍

    • @treybenton6087
      @treybenton6087 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AskGolfNut Thank you. The gearing differences are something I have noticed as well when playing with competitors who use the TSRs. Seems like when off center hits occur, the TSR3 doesn’t have the same level of “correction” the 230 does. Center hits do go well and are fast, but off center hits, not much help there. Collectively, in my opinion, the Mizuno 230 STZ is more consistent overall.
      Thanks for the amazing content Jay. I know it’s slot of hard work. It’s appreciated.

    Love the look, feel and sound of the 3 and with that weight in the slight toe position I get really great results. That being said the 2 was giving me slightly better results, especially on those slight mis-hits. It just doesn’t sound and feel as good as the 3 🏌🏻‍♂️

      @@AskGolfNutt seems your strike pattern is slightly toe biased, did you consider testing the driver with the weight in one of the toe positions, would love to see the differences, if any.
      What’s also interesting is the vft face design on the 3 is different than the 1,2 &4. In these models the area is more central on the driver face but in the 3 it’s more towards the toe so one would think toe strikes would have better performance and consistency than centered strikes 🤷🏻‍♂️

      How much would a Surefit adapter lie adjustment to drop the high toe at impact change your results?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't mind seeing the draw flight with the driver so I'd most likely keep the weight where it is. The face tech in the 3 is probably why I got on straight away with it over the 2 that much better. On balance though I'd possibly still go TSR2 due to its slightly higher baseline spin profile 👍
