It doesn't get any more authentic and wholesome than that !!! You're building a personal library of exquisite moments in China that have never been seen by the west before. I'm just happy that I get to be here to see them. People who look down their noses at the Chinese People are *exceedingly* foolish.
Wow,this was so nice. It's actually just the same procedure as with olive oil. I live in Greece and many families on the island I live on have their own olive trees and harvest in December to make oil. Exactly as for you, families take the collected olives (people here collect by hand) to the local oil mill and the oil is used during the year to come. You should make documentaries, your videos are great!
Hi Miriam! I know how does it smell. You are literally awakening my childhood. I born and grew up in Qinghai. I went to mill to buy the rapeseeds oil with my family but never get to know how it is processed. I appreciate your video! It’s been four years I didn’t go back home for studying abroad and work, miss everything there! I love your philosophy of life and your video is as peaceful as you! I hope one day I can pay a visit to you and your family in Qinghai where is also my home!
Wow, that's quite an interesting process! Something I have never seen before. Someone said you are creating a library of unique moments and I completely agree. Pratices like this will slowly disappear and it's so valuable you are documenting this!
Love your videos Miriam...Your husband always seems so cheerful and a hardworker, as well as proactive dad. You are both lucky to have found one another. It seems no matter how hard you have worked all your life, that old man has lovely smiley face....you cant fake those wrinkles ;-) Really love your content about rural life in china, especially those around your in laws and food. LOL
That was fascinating. It reminds me of the villages in Italy where they have one press and everyone brings their olives to have them pressed. it's a community event.
You guys are so sweet together... the way your husband is so concerned about how clearly he speaks for your video is so nice... having a spouse care about the little things is such a blessing. I do love seeing your outings together on your channel... God bless you and your family
Did you grow up in rural China, or elsewhere? I hope that I can document as much as possible, I'm afraid that when Sansan is older, some might be lost. But if I document it, he can see it and also understand more about his own family history and his heritage!
@@MiriamFollin yes, I grew up in southwest China, somethings are different from your videos but most are the same. It is a great time now that new things are coming up everyday, but it is also a sad time that many traditional things are fading away. I felt lucky to know many of those from my childhood. I think what you are doing is just great, not only show other people what is the old fashion like, but also pass the knowledge to the next generation like Sansan, from a foreigner's view. Thumbs up!
Dear Miriam, thanks to you and your husband for sharing this experience with us. This process is absolutely fascinating! I'm watching this video at 4am in Canada LOL My husband is also Chinese, and he is VERY impressed with your husband's calligraphy. We watched that video last night. Your mum-in-law is truly a precious gift.:) Adorable son and husband....your family exudes peace and love. thank you once again for sharing with us:) Happy New Year!
It was so interesting to watch how rapeseed oil is made! Thank you for your hard work filming and editing your videos, they are always such a pleasure to watch :)
I found your video very touching. For once we get to see the down-to-earth farmers, how they toiled on the land generations after generations, so the country can be fed. It is indeed a heartwarming sight to see their livelihood has been steadily improving, with tap water, with electricity, and even with mobile communications.
You are so much an inspiring person to move out of the modern Swedish comforzone that most people wish for, just to live your dream life in a peaceful rural village with the man you love. I could feel the dedicated Nordic culture in you, people always love little simple things that bring them true happiness despite of the materialistic world. I'm so grateful to know you through this chanel. Much love to you and your family.
So this is how rapeseed oil is made. I'm into palm oil business. Very nice videography. Always enjoy watching your channel. Now we can better understand the livelihood in rural China. By the way, cute baby. My heart melted.
I never really understood the difference between canola and rapeseed... In Swedish it seems to be the same thing! Yes, they are so pretty! There is actually a whole tourism event when they bloom here, people travel to this province just to look at the flowers, and to take pictures in the fields haha.
In this part of Canada where I live (greater Vancouver area), there are no canola growers but in the prairie provinces, canola is their major product. It was only while on a train ride in Munich I saw vast tracts of canola fields and I was blown away! Thanks for showing us how the oil is extracted 💖💖💖 Loving all your videos!!!
@@VeryMerryLou Until Canada decided to kidnap Huawei founder's daughter in transit to attend G20 Summit in Buenos Aires at the same venue Trump and Xi met.
Just came across this video of your Miriam. Very interesting to see rapeseed oil made the traditional way. I have seen a few of your other videos with your cute infant San San and your supportive parents-in-law. You see to have adapted and integrated well into the rural Chinese way of life. You are very resourceful and hardworking. The quality of your videos are excellent, as good technically and with great music backing as that of professional movie makers. Very well done. Thanks for sharing more videos of your life in China. Wish you good luck and prosperity in the future. Chia yoe !!!
I love these videos that show how things are made. My only wish is that you would have shown the growing and harvesting process as well. For anyone in the west who is not a farmer this is totally new and interesting. Please keep making more of these videos.
I'm so happy that you say that! I am planning to do this next year, 2020. To film the whole process of rapeseed, wheat and perhaps some more crops or veggies. From preparing the soil, the sowing, the growing season, the harvesting, and then how it's stored and used. But it's a long process, so those videos will probably not be ready until 2021! In Sweden we have a saying that goes like this "The one who awaits something good, can never wait for too long". Haha. I just hope that they will turn out well!
Very fascinating ! I changed from using rapeseed oil back to olive oil because I watched an American you tube video stating that all seed oil need chemical to extract the oil. That put me off. Now watching your video, cold press rape seed oil is organic. I will go back to it. Thank you very much.
Yes, they surely need no chemicals to extract this oil! I hope you can find some good one! I personally like the flavour of rapeseed oil better than that of olive oil!
Great video! I'm a Chinese. I hope more people can see your video and learn about Chinese traditional culture.😄👍 非常棒的视频! 我是中国人,希望能有更多人看到你的视频,了解中国的传统文化。😄👍
Miriam, I saw a Scandinavian cooking show that used rapeseed oil for mayonnaise. Rapeseed oil is more desirable than other oils for mayonnaise because its flavour is neutral and would not affect the taste of the finished product.
Aw, thank you so so much! And I will make it, I just have a long list of videos waiting to be edited, so it will probably not be time for the wedding video until February some time haha.
I really wish that you can be teacher in rural. Not only you can teach children/teenagers English, but also you can share your view of point, your worldwide expirience, your attitude to life You will plant the hope to each child to explore the world ,also to love their life and family. That will really change their life.
Did you know how rapeseed oil was made before? I had never seen it!
luv you.
Miriam .... you must have been a Chinese in your previous life ! You’ve adapted better than some overseas Chinese.
