9:10 Not to knock your efforts (Seriously. Props for even attempting a video like this!) but Toy Biz gave us Ben Affleck/Daredevil, Wesley Snipes/Blade and Tom Jane/Punisher in the Marvel Legends line before Hasbro even had the license.
Dude, no knocking taken! I'm impressed with the knowledge and glad you were clearly paying attention! :) I went in knowing full well I might be off base with a few facts and hoping it would encourage interaction just like this. Thanks for watching!
This is amazing, and presented with infectious enthusiasm. Makes me want to go through the whole collection again :) although Howard the Duck and Doop might have a few things to say about Silvermane being the first entirely separate character as an accessory ;)
Paul! I'm glad you enjoyed it mate and even more so if it makes you look back through your collection. It certainly did that with me! You're absolutely right about Doop and Howard too. I even mentioned Howard earlier in the vid, shows how much I was paying attention to myself! :) You win an official Marvel 'No prize!'
Dude thanks so much! I'll happily take the compliment on the enthusiasm but there's definitely some big gaps in the knowledge! So much so that my next video will be my light hearted 'Apologies and corrections' video! :)
I can't believe this video has 101 comments as well. This'll make it 102 though. Anyway, very nice video! I've been following the marvel legends line during the toy biz days but couldn't afford to buy any. So just this year I started collecting marvel legends.
It was a joy putting it together. I love diving in to history and finding out various facts (And as I discovered) fictions to include. Glad you enjoyed!
19:12 "The Spider Man Homecoming wave was the first and fortunately only wave to feature a BAF that wasn't a character" Man that aged quickly with the TFATWS Captain America wave (for those who don't know, this wave - Scarlet Witch,White Vision, Loki, US Agent, Bucky, Zemo and Sam Wilson's Captain America - have Captain America's wings as it's BAF, just like Vulture's wings in the Homecoming wave)
I’ve been collecting Marvel Legends since 2012 and they are the absolute best!! I have nearly every ML ToyBiz and trying to round out my collection. Anyways... I don’t want to be ‘that guy’ but you said to correct you at the end of the video so here I am. For Fact Number 36, Jean Grey and Juggernaut weren’t the first movie figures in a Hasbro wave. It was actually the X3 Beast figure that was released in the Annihilus Wave. Big fan of your channel and collection!!
I will NEVER FORGET when Hasbro got the license. Back in the Toybiz days, I was so hardcore I was buying entire waves. So when Hasbro put out their first offerings, well needless to say...yeah those alarm bells DID ring. They were mostly pretty bad. But isn't it wonderful how they corrected that? Heck now I think not only are their figures BETTER than Toybiz's, but they're the best Marvel figures ever made.
That was before I started collecting but the old school collectors do all agree that it was indeed a dark and worrying time when Hasbro first took over and the results were less than impressive.
Thanks brother, this one was a real passion project. Now I've got to see if I can come up with the sequel, 101 MORE facts you must know about Marvel Legends!
Wow I started with wave 1 almost 20 years ago. Time flies. I never owned that Toad figure. I've replaced all old toybiz figures with Hasbro except for the BAFs and maybe 5 standard releases. Good Job!
@@DisplayingModelBehaviour Yeah Old G Galactus is a must even if Hasbro makes a new one. I had 3 old G Sentinels (Sold one). Apocalypse MODOK etc. Bought 4 of the new Sentinels so I'm running out of room fast. End of 2021 is going to be pretty much it for me for Marvel Legends except a few movie figs or very select figures. No more complete waves. 20 years of one line is enough. G.I. is my new obsession.
Aw thanks big guy. Many more good years to come, hopefully working alongside you. Also definitely don't tell Juany about this collection she'll go bananas! :)
You forgot to add when they started raising all the prices from $8 to as much as $80 at times. Even charging as much as $500 for a Sentinel recently. The even more disgusting part is how they crowdfund things now. They’re taking money before even sending product, which was piloted using their pre-order system. Instead of just making toys, they try and use peoples emotions towards collecting against them. Making you drive endless hours at times, clicking on 90 different websites, shelling out hundreds for the “collectors” items. It’s all a sham. It shouldn’t be the way it is, but it is. We shouldn’t be even allowing it to happen, but it is. What happened to the way things used to be. Technology really is the downfall whether you believe it or not
Gosh man don't remind me! I know exactly what you're saying. Some of the business practices and nickel and dime-ing of their fan base really puts Hasbro in a bad light. It's such a shame that the figures clearly have people with a lot of love and passion working on them but ultimately it's all dictated by a corporation and as we no corporations aren't interested in love and money. It's all about squeezing out ever last penny from their customers. It sucks paying over the odds sometimes but the way I look at it is that if Hasbro didn't make profits doing things this way they wouldn't be interested in taking risks by making very obscure figures like deluxe Toxin and Ben Reilly. (Two of my favourites). So while the business practices can suck i'll rationalise it by the enjoyment i get from the product.
Hey Darth, welcome to the channel. I'm really glad you enjoyed the vid. Honestly I was so surprised that no one had done this before. Soon as I realised there was this gap in the youtube market I thought "I gotta get this done!!)
I'm both ashamed and completely unashamed at how quickly my collection grew considering I only started in 2018 🙃 The catching up on older releases was rough.

I had the Tom Jane Punisher. It was too small, but otherwise, great figure, especially for its time.

Tiger shark and anti venom were the ones that started my Journey into marvel legends Collecting since 2015
Ah man, Tiger Shark is still high on my want list!
#68, before Speed Demon, there was already 2 from Toy Biz era. Series 5 Silver Surfer with Howard The Duck and Series 6 Deadpool with Doop.
You're absolutely right bud. You're not the first to point out that I was waaaaaaay off base with that one! Thanks for keeping me honest.
