One thing I would suggest is instead of going through the filler cavity with atf , go through the sensor hole with 5w30 and use two and a half quarts because atf tends to evaporate with time. I really like your video! Great job

I change oil,oil filter, fuel filter, trans spin on filter every 4,000 miles. And every January 1st every single fluid is change! LB7's oil will always be clean unless there is a problem. Fumoto valve for the oil pain. Always remove fill plugs first on front, rear diffs and the tcase. About 200 miles before my oil changes I dump 2 cans of Seafoam in the crankcase and run it. Cleans the inside of the engine good. I sometimes even add a qt of diesel to the crankcase, then start the truck and let it idle for 5 to 10 minutes, then do a oil change.

When changing tranny fluid, measure what you take out and replace with same amount, when you check your fluid level the truck must be running, and you should cycle for 5-10 seconds between reverse, drive and neutral. This evens out the fluid.

  • @kyleerickson3382

u should break loose the fill plug on transfer case first just in case if the plug is messed up if u drain it first then the fill plug is messed up you are screwed

That AC Delco is the new single pleat filter. The old style was double. I wouldn’t trust that filter unless that’s your only filter available. Racor fuel filter is the old style with double pleat.

    • @DIYDiesel

I agree with this. When we bought this one racor was back order like 2 months and it actually took me 4 months to get mine.

I was told Champion makes this filter for GM. Racor is the OG filter & when GM switched they claim better water separation this model vs the old design. But we all know it’s cause of GM just being cheap & saving money on part manufacturing.

I've always filled my allison in neutral as well, mostly because that's what EVERYBODY says to do. But on my dip stick it actually says to check it in park. Mine's an '08 but that shouldn't make a difference. I wonder why the mixed info...

So if it has been running you can check it in park, but if the fluid is cold you should check it in neutral.

Wix filter on a duramax = "Normally I act intelligently; yet, due to my complete lack of forward planning, I had to settle for the worst quality filter on earth." (Ref: every comparison video on TH-cam). Dude, you could have got a walmart supertech filter with more pleats than the shitwix. If you can drive local to get a shitwix, you can most certainly drive a slight ways more and get a wallytech. FFS!
