A couple of days ago I was trying to sleep in a bit and had my bedroom door shut. Husband had gone downstairs with our 2 spaniels to make tea. I could hear my younger dog running up and down the stairs repeatedly and whimpering outside my door. Eventually (after about 20 minutes) I succumbed to my fate and got up. Their unbridled joy is one of life’s greatest treasures. I don’t think I could live without the love of a dog, especially when they make homecoming feel like they haven’t seen you in an age. Nothing compares to it.
I have six, yes 6, large dogs, all rescues, all grateful, all wags and licks. Wouldn't trade them for anything, NOT anything. Joy is elusive, until you own a dog. That dog is your world, your hope, your dreams. No college fees, no auto insurance payments, no shoes or wardrobe, no wondering about their career. Pure unadulterated joy, Dogs!
Love Mabel's little grunts. She has a very snazzy champagne bottle toy, and I swear her tail must be battery operated. What a welcome home from the gorgeous girls 🐾💞.

Dog thought bubbles are treasure and they keep us going sometimes......the humor of it all is exquisite. Their derpy faces, their wagging tails, their obvious emotions. I see this one ends with zoomies and snorts. What is not to love?
There's nothing more amusing to me than the grunts/grumbles/growls retrievers do when they're excited/playing - like oh wow aren't we so tough with the squeaky toy! Real vicious animals were are LOL!
Here in US I had a sports report on the radio this morning and their clip of the day was the winning Pont at Wimbledon. I almost went off road when I recognized the VOICE!!! ItMable and Olive!! I now understand how the Brits enjoyed hearing his familar voice during covid.
One of our Beagles from the past, Ranger (1981-1996), loved tennis balls. It took a little effort, but he could carry three tennis balls, one on each side of his mouth and the other with his front teeth.

Thank you for that name, so I could google and find out what the reference was! Most Americans of a certain age grew up hearing about the Guinness Book of Records, but I had no idea who created it and the story---part tragedy---behind it. I love Mr. Cotter and his lovely dogs.
@@northernmuse9 Ha. Well I only knew him from watching Record Breakers when I was a kid - as you can imagine, it was a very important part of my life back then . I had no memory of the rest of the story until you mentioned the tragedy and I looked him up! I went to see Mr Cotter and the girls in London a couple of years ago. Aren't they just adorable? For me, they fill in a big dog-shaped hole with their snuffles and wags and snorts. How wonderful life would be if we could all feel so happy with picking up seven sticks! ☺
