Man this is so awesome. Can't wait to see the full community involved eventually to see how the meta is different with no extra latency barriers. And the potential to get some original players back is great too. With so many people gone because of the net code issues, hopefully they may be inclined to return with these corrections.
I practiced for several days to recreate the bu/tta charged attack/charged Harris/charged ashmead combo, and although it was possible to do, that combo leans heavily on netcode which makes it far harder to dodge online. The HMMR and other weapons lean on EAC and the lag it creates all while not catching people who use the most common cheat, which is lag switching. It's completely disgusting, anti-fun, and only punishes honest players.
The point is to keep the player base happy and interested. A single base that just keeps dwindling helps no one. And once things become public, even those that prefer open server are still likely going to keep playing on the vanilla game. You may have a few diehards that don't want to go back to vanilla ever again, but they weren't going to stay in vanilla anyways with the issues FromSoft has left us
@@TheDemonsHaveMe Nah. The seemless co-op mod killed invasions in Elden Ring and that game averages 35k concurrent players, the potential benefits of bringing such a mod to a game that has player count problems is massively outweighed by the potential cost. Best case scenario, nobody plays the mod. Worst case scenario it picks it steam in the the short term which would split the player base in the long term, speeding it's decline. A better way to keep the player base "happy and interested" would be to get Fromsoft to address some of the huge issues still plaguing the online, such as weapon balance and the current anti-fun meta. But who cares about any of that when there's content to farm?
We've already lost most the playerbase due to the toxic community. (Top players calling anything non-meta a creature. JP banning everyone else from their tournaments.) Im 1k hours into this game even as a diehard im ready to uninstall and move on. No mod is going to be able to reel this back. Fromsoft wants the game to die. LET IT DIE. MAYBE then they will fix something. This is a bad abusive relationship. WALK AWAY.

Pulse Armor on white glint? You traitor!
Oh great, just what we need, for the already small playerbase to be further splintered.

@@wrathgaming6521 Sad but true. This game deserves a far better community than what it got. I won't give up so easily, however.
