I collect sniper replicas so had to buy one of these a few months ago. The RS is called the SPR (Special Purpose Rifle) MOD-0 the actual MOD-2 is far more up to date with a DD rail etc.. This MOD-0 had a carbon fibre handguard and was one of the first military M16 style rifles to feature a fully free floating barrel on the RS. The muzzle brake is always put on wrong on these replicas, you need to undo a grub screw and rotate it 90 degrees so the vents are horizontal to the ground when shooting. The thread with collar is for a proprietary suppressor that shrouds the barrel so in airsoft you'll need to unscrew the end of the barrel taking off the muzzle brake to reveal 14mm CCW threads and add a suppressor that way, since the RS is a shrouded style it actually looks the same with a similar looking suppressor fitted this way if that makes sense, done it with mine. Can't help with the power issue, odd, mine's fine at 30 meters, the length of my range although I've been using a Life 9.9v 1600mah battery. The rifle was not special forces but a quick answer to a badly needed urban sniper rifle using 5.56 for very accurate but shorter range shots, often known as the MK12.
