    I feel like a million things happened I need to mention:
    1. Adéla debuted her new single today, which is so good, the chorus was stuck in my head for weeks when she was promoting it (istg I feel like lady gaga and britney had a baby) if you wanna support it click here:
    open.spotify.com/track/7904wbV03rb4S0gGliqBk4?si=f175860e00b44a79
    or her channel:
    th-cam.com/video/antEtIjkYqc/w-d-xo.html
    2. Thank you Eunchae for your time as Music Bank's host, you did amazing despite everything that was going on! Crongrats to ILLIT's Minju who will be carrying the torch onwards, wishing you the best.
    3. No, I am still not feeling Katseye as a group until I get better music but I will say, words cannot convey the amount if love and respect I have for Sophia and Lara. I absolutely adore them. And Megan and Daniella are such stage presence queens. I'll see as time progresses if I'll like their music.
    4. The NWJNS live: Honestly I am so tired of talking about MHJ and her sick tactics to get into the claws of these children and their equally ridiculous parents. I will say, if you think they did the live all on their own accord, you are delusional. It is not a coinsidence that this live happened at the cusp of ILLIT's comeback. I feel like one of three things is happening here in my opinion; either a) NWJNS are not being given the accurate information about what MHJ has done (I mean her literal CRIMES, and the way they talked about copyright and all, it is likely they are just not aware of what is really going on) and how her behaviour has affected other groups, or two: they know and do not care and are just horrible people, or three: they are being blackmailed into doing this, because they may be young but they aren't dumb. You could never make me defend someone who called my groupmates names and justified SA unless you have something on me or my group. MHJ is sick and no amount of "wanting good music" for NWJNS will justify that. These are young kids need to be protected. K-pop failed to do that when we told you MHJ is unsafe and now again fans refuse to protect them, what will they think when they are older and start seeing things clearly? HYBE is definitley no saint in this either because the protection of these girls should have been a priority and honestly, I do not htink it's being taken seriously. The "well they wanna be with her so let's issolate them" attitude is not productiove either. I understand that there is a possibility that their hands are tied because of the girls' parents but at least look like you are trying. Lastly, I do not judge people who are running out of sympathy for NWJNS, while yes they are kids, their constant mentioning of MHJ's in support of her must be frustrating for them. I also feel, as terrible as it sounds, that as fans (not companies) but as fans, the only way to save these girls is to abandon them completely and pray, then maybe, their parents will have so common sense and rethink keeping their children linked to MHJ (unless they are being blackmailed or something because at this point, anything is a possibility). She is shameless enough to wanna take NWJNS down with her if she doesn't get what she wants. I still compassion towards them because I know how hard it is to free yourself from manipulation especially at a young age, and I continue to hold hope that someday, someway, they'll be free of MHJ.
    4. Billboard and New York Post's ranking of LISA's VMA performace: I will never understand NYP's hate boner with BLACKPINK in general. Calling LISA a K-flop... what kind of language is that? Accusing LISA of lip-syncing when we all heard her sing live, the issue was the loud backtrack, on top of that her performance was good saying "she left us wondering how she got invited" when she is 1/4 of the most popular girl group in the world right now is a joke. If you are going to review a performance, and tell us why it is bad, try to articulate yourself like you have some common sense and proffesionalism. But I am not too bothered by it because if I've learned anything about LISA, when people pull stunts like this, she always proves them wrong.
    And that's it. Hope you are having an amazing weekend, I love you guys so much and am grateful for the amount of outpouring support on my recent content. God Bless.

      I've been seeing multiple bunnies say Hybe has been mistreating and sabotaging Newjeans which I believe to be false. Yes I agree Hybe could have taken extra measures to ensure the protection of the girls, but to say they are sabotaging them seems extreme.
      When I asked them how Newjeans were being mistreated this is the reply I got: @Scarlitoons:low promotions, guarding problems, taking away the only one there for them and actually helping the girls grow. their new CEO does not care about their music, of you had seen the live new jeans.
      I stated Hybe funded them which helped provide their mv's, concept's, advertisements, endorsement deals, promotion activities, etc?
      They replied: Bro Newjeans overshadowed Leserafim which BSH made so he jealous of their success even making illit to copy newjeans. Yeah BSH is a child😂i told u he jealous of Newjeans success cause they overshadowed lesserafim ( they are still amazing group tho). Its not about the money anymore its about that the group he made lesserafim is being overshadowed by MHJ group so he also made illit to copy newjeans formula.
      They truly believe Hybe did NOTHING for Newjeans and that MHJ was the only one there for them. They think she saved them, so if the girls want her back she should come back.

      manon also wasn't raised in competitive training environments unlike the others. she's also from switzerland, which is a country that teaches the value of work life balance. it's likely that manon was simply unfamiliar, and subsequently ignorant, to the situation that she was in. she probably had no idea how she came off to the others, who were rightfully upset. manon did have to wake up to reality, but she wasn't malicious, i can't really think of her as a bad guy. just someone who had to adjust.

      @@yoyeojin1747 I don't think that's quite what the issue is. Sophia and Lara rank highly with the audience as well, so why would they feel they aren't being recognized? Maybe on Adela's behalf, but Sophia mentioned this being something they've talked to Manon about before. There's a reason nobody wanted to work with Manon.
      No, I believe the frustration comes from the fact that Manon didn't value or prioritize being there for rehearsals. It is so. Much. Extra. Work. On all the other girls when one misses rehearsal. Having to learn multiple versions of each number, having to space and respace, teach and reteach, clean and reclean everything. It wastes everyone's time and hinders their ability to progress and train their own skills because they have to constantly go back for Manon, adjust for her, revolve practices around her, etc. It is so exhausting.
      So Manon showed all of them that she doesn't value or respect them or their time and effort, and is totally fine screwing everybody else over if it means she gets to stay home by the pool all day. She's not a team player. Doesn't even want to live with them.
      And then they get to the surprise survival show and Manon is 4th or whatever in the polls. Especially when someone who has put in the time, has always been there, has lifted up everyone around her and goes out of her way to help the others succeed... is last.
      The frustration with Manon was there long before the survival show, it just bubbled over with how unfair the voting situation was.
      I don't understand why Manon was upset though. Maybe she was feeling attacked or like it was being taken out on her. But again, Sophia mentioned talking with her about it before. Is she upset that the others are frustrated that they need to work twice as hard for her to get her special treatment? I don't know. I might have gotten to hear Manon's feelings... if she had bothered to show up to the therapy session.
      Like I said in another comment, I'm confused why the documentary chose to highlight just how bad Manon would be in a girl group, when the editors knew she was in the group. Maybe they have plans to replace her and wanted to show why? I don't know. I sincerely hope she's become a team player and respects her fellow members now.

    As a Polish person, I really don't understand the backlash for Adela wanting more Slovakian representation. I would also love more Polish representation in global entertainment, no matter what skin color said Polish person would have. I would feel wayyy more represented by a black Polish artist than a random white American girl. In most of the world, it's the nationality that is more of your identity rather than race. In many countries, you wouldn't even consider your race a part of your identity. After thinking about it wayyy too much, I think the whole issue arises from the cultural differences of how people identify themselves and what makes them feel represented between the US and the rest of the world.

    So interesting, reading your comments. Adela is Slavic and Eastern Europeans are definitely letting it be known that there are as much distinctions to being classified "white" in that part of the world, especially as she was specifically put in a versus situation with the bi-racial Manon, who is from possibly the poshest part of Europe (Switzerland). Yes, I did watch all episodes of the documentary and I too had issues with what you brought up as well. Adela was obviously representing her nation through herself (one person in a very specific situation), she brought it up in her video (she had a lot of airtime). She was possibly the most mature of the trainees - the instructors could rely on her, the girls looked up to her, she herself showed up day in/day out. How it panned out was not a conundrum: KPOP is more/less a youth market and her type of maturity did not pass the marketability of KPOP stans, hence her voting was always on the low end. HYBE can say that she was "meant" to be a soloist blah blah blah but she thrived being in a group, being with the other girls so their reasoning does not pass the smell test. She just wasn't meant to be in THIS GG, especially if they don't change the music they're pushing out right now. Sorry, when I first heard Touch, my first thought was HYBE was giving them a version of ILLIT's Magnetic and to prove my point, they played Magnetic in the documentary. It was a reinforcement to how they mean to market Katseye. Anyway, the silo-ing of HYBE's divisions (or they should be but in reality they are not) is a topic to be tackled in another MV. Thanks.

    • @katledbetter
      @katledbetter 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@edwinatakasaki2258 yeah, I like to think they just said she was meant to be a soloist to give her a boost. They knew she was perfect for a girl group because her work ethic, mother vibes, and her ability to bring people together, and also knew those skills translate to being a soloist as well, and she's talented enough to make being a soloist work.
      Them saying "we only eliminated her because she was last in the voting" and "she was always meant to be a soloist" was to show/ tell the audience that this girl is talented, deserved it, and to go support her. It was an apology and a boost to someone they genuinely wanted to work with and got screwed over by their surprise survival show.

    Thank you for covering this issue with such logical and complex explanation. For me as a Czech person (we used to be Czechoslovakia, so we're still a little similar in terms of mentality), it was evident from the start that what Adéla meant was that other countries, such as European countries, are not well represented in this worldwide enterntainment that is dominated by Americans and that she wishes for more representation - not skin colour wise but nationality wise. But since the majority of kpop stans who watch these kinds of shows watch them from American perspective where everything is essentially about race, it was quite obvious what the outcome of Adéla's statement would be. It wasn't even surprising because we were served the opinion we should have on silver platter by the production team which is really sad because Adéla seems like a really nice girl who just wanted to be a singer but now she has to deal with the consequences of stupidly edited video.
    Also, as you mentioned Lisa in your pinned comment... I don't know.. I have to disagree a little. She is such a great performer and singer as well, I don't understand why she had to have such a loud back track- she didn't even dance that much. But that would not even be the problem, I just feel like the performance was a bit underwhelming?... I expected more dynamics from her performance, but that's just my personal subjective opinion which does not come from the the place of hate. I just expected much more from such a big star.
    EDIT: Also!! Thank yosu for making videos, your perspective and opinions are refreshing during these times hehehe.

    The hate towards Adela was so weird to me. When I watched the 5th episode, I didn’t think once about her being a blonde haired white girl, or that she was jealous. It was so obvious that she was trying to show representation for her nation. Even as a black American, I understood that. To minimize this to a “she’s white, so she can’t speak on a black person” is just so immature. Especially when it was shown in the episode that, besides Manon getting sick, she stopped coming to practices, would sleep in, wouldn’t take the training seriously which would make her fall further behind in the skill level between her and the rest of the girls, and yet she still had high ratings and made it into the group. I’m happy she picked up her own slack, I’m actually happy she’s in the group. But this type of mindset is what sets the black community back so much. Deeming all of the things that seem unfair to us as “racism” is not going to push us further. Sometimes, our race is the reason why we’re overlooked or the complete opposite. But in this situation, it was clear that Adela was significantly more talented than Manon and she was simply expressing her frustrations about the voting as was all of the girls. She’s not racist. And to be fair, the entire process of this project was unfair in multiple ways than just this situation. I hope Adela and Katseye achieve great success.

      To your last point:
      I was happily enjoying the show in the beginning. There was something very cool about the idea of exposing people from other backgrounds to the fabled KPOP regime of training. I was totally onboard! I wish I had found out about all of it sooner!
      And then that troll of a producer shows up and openly attempts to justify manipulating these young women and pitting them against each other in pure Mean Girls fashion.
      The tone shifted completely. You could see the heartbreak in the contestants' eyes. This is NOT what they signed up for. This was a disgusting assault on their dreams. Some took it on the chin and rolled with it. Some became casualties of it. But it is ridiculous to me to infuse "reality" show tactics into what was a really great idea. You're forming a group that will spend the coming years together working their backsides off. Why would you attempt to shove animosity and infighting into that recipe?
      The plan was clearly brought about by the hollow little hag producer who laughed about it like it was just good fun.

    I didn't know any of the girls or the controversies before this vid popped up on my FYP. But I believe, not even regarding her Slovak pride, any thinking Slavic woman who spent most of her life in a Slavic country would feel Adela right away. Americanized racial politics that rotted most of the international k-pop stans would never allow people to even try and find out what it's like to be, yes, white, and yet dirtier, not even white enough to other whites, what it's like to try and break into industries that had painted you, a Slavic woman, either as a prоstitute or an obedient wife for decades -- that's literally all the repersentation there is, she was right to say Americans can't experience that. And that's leaving out the obvious: the poverty of the majority of the Slavic countries compared even to Western Europe, the lack of opportunities, the doubled amount of hard work required to ever get out and survive abroad which are the issues that, as far as I get it, these people are convinced only POC could experience.

    as someone from a slavic country, the lack of representation is basically a matter for all of us (besides maybe russia?), but i do think even though adela made valid points, she was exaggerating a bit at times. while twisting her words and claiming she complains about lack of white representation also bothers me, i think national and racial representation aren’t equally important. while people from my country get excited at any mention of us anywhere in the industry, because we tend to be forgotten, i would never compare it to the lack of racial/ethnic representation, especially in an industry that puts huge beauty standards on women. i think that’s also why some people online jumped to those conclusions.
    coming down to work ethic it does amaze me how no one wants to put even a little responsibility on manon considering even their teacher ended up thinking she wouldn’t add her to the group based on it. i think manon had way less determination as a trainee, because she never auditioned herself and didn’t seem like someone who necessarily wanted to be an artist. i think the production putting her in the center of attention at times gave her reassurance she would get in. at the end i think she realized how serious it was and improved which i’m glad about, because even though i’m not particularly intrigued by her voice or dance skills, i do think a person like her with an “aura” is a good thing for the group. kinda like victoria beckham in spice girls, till this day people joke about her not being able to sing but i do think she was an iconic member. however it’s 100% true pretty privilege plays a huge part in how fans portray her and her actions.

At some point they talked about each other, disliked each other. And it could be worrisome if they still feel that same way about her behind the scenes. Also let's be real here a lot of the issues with Manon missing classes didn't start until after she became popular with the audience. Some of the frustration was warranted but a lot was simply jealousy and was IMO the root of a lot of Adela's beef with Manon which was why I personally couldn't respect her.

    She stated she wants to be an inspiration for little girls but now look at the content she posts nowadays. It is completely inappropriate for little girls. I get her being eliminated so fast is sad for her however you failed to mention Manon did realize she needed to put in work and she did. Then looking at entertainment industry perspective, you want to sell concert tickets, you want to form a group with girls that have star quality. That was the purpose for the survival show and the team Katseye looks so cohesive and they did a good job forming it. Best of luck to Adela though but she is not targeting little girls in her music videos.

    This whole video is built on wrong information considering that people who dislike Adela also dislike Naisha just as much, for the same reason. Many of them had those opinions before the documentary due to their social media posts. Her skin color has nothing to do with it. Dream Academy was one of the fairest shows. Adela was eliminated because she didn't capture people's attention in PV. I followed the show and agree with that sentiment. Something about her performance was off-putting. Also, yall would make more sense if you just said you think visual picks should be eliminated from kpop, which probably wont be happening anytime soon.

    I find it a bit weird how other contestants harped on Manon for allegedly only making it into katseye because she's pretty? Manon sings and dances very well. Furthermore, _all_ of the contestants are conventionally pretty and have probably benefitted quite a lot from that privilege. They probably wouldn't like being told they only made it into the show (and group) because of their looks. Manon has this angelic sense of beauty, but doesn't behave like an angel, and that makes her interesting to the viewers.

  • @hanji947
    @hanji947 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +37

    Ok my thing is, Manon still didn’t deserved to be treated the way she did. All those girls and staff had to do is let her know “oh hey we don’t appreciate you not showing up” because clearly after Manon realized taking days off was a no no, she quickly got the girls together and apologized and showed up ever since. Missy had a lot to say abt Manon’s “poor work ethic” but couldn’t go to her and let her know that taking days off like that isn’t ok? Like hello you’re in charge of them, so why did she let it slide for so long? The girls, especially Adela, continued to reduce her just to her looks multiple times and shit talked abt her behind her back despite the fact that Manon clearly changed her ways. I get the others feeling frustrated but clearly it was a cultural difference and lack of communication. Manon clearly stepped up and proved herself ever since so I really don’t think Adela or anyone else was right to continue to downplay Manon.

    • @mamobee
      @mamobee 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      When Manon addressed the group and apologized and changed her ways it was already MONTHS maybe even a full year into the program. She absolutely deserved to be treated the way she was. She got special privileges, was able to stay with her aunt bc she kept breaking curfew and other rules. Yeah she stepped up at the end but it's very very clear that she was given special treatment.

    • @hanji947
      @hanji947 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

      @@mamobee Well firstly consider the fact that Manon was added in a year after the program started so she clearly wasn’t as familiar with it as the other girls with. Plus, you saying her apologizing months after taking serval breaks only proves that no one decided to communicate to her that taking frequent breaks isn’t ok. Manon herself clearly said she didn’t have a clear understanding given that where she’s from physical and mental health is very prioritized so taking breaks is something she thought was ok. And when she realized it wasn’t, she quickly apologized and got her stuff together. Saying she deserved to be downplayed, shit talked, and excluded because of a misunderstanding and culture differences is weird asf. The other girls 100% were allowed to feel frustrated with her but couldn’t they just communicate with her their frustrations? Instead Manon was the one who had to come to them lmao. Plus even when Manon changed and showed up and showed out they still continued to shit talk her, what else do they want her to do?

    • @1024sofia
      @1024sofia 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Exactly… I get that Manon wasn’t living with the adult girls but the communication with her was evidently shit! Tell her to show up! Once she was made aware she gathered ALL the girls and apologised. The feelings the girls had were valid, like show the fuck up ffs! However the sniggering and glares were just mean and unnecessary. Tell Manon to show up… communicate… They made Manon look like the bigger person bc they couldn’t simply tell her or communicate like adults. I struggled to dislike Manon even tho her behaviour bothered me bc she was apologetic. I started disliking some of the other girls who were once my faves like Sophia for the dirty looks (she my bias wrecker now bc like they all said “we r literally fine🐬🌈”).

    I mean, but you should also point out the fact that they all worked it out since the conversation they had. People grow and learn, she holds accountability and that's important too. And you're missing few points: Adela was eliminated because of the public, not producers and that is a sad true that multiple talented people face in the industry, if you don't have appeal to the public, you'll hardly make it. Manon was kept there because the producers noticed the public loved her, if she was at the bottom of public votes, trust me, she would have been eliminated since first mission. And last but definitely not least, although the frustration was very valid, it wasn't cool for them talking behind Manon's back when Manon clearly never said anything bad about none of them and even said she loved them, and also it's not Manon's fault that she was a fan favorite (wich is btw the reason why she stepped it up and got serious because at first she thought she wouldn't make it as she felt the other girls were extremely good). Either way, the final lineup was the one making more synergy and the girls seem to be very close and working very good together, hopefully they have major success in the near future. ☺
