I used Pon on the bottom of the pot and soilless Aroid Mix for the fill up in a self watering pot. Never to let dry out. El Choco is my 3rd favorite plant. You have a gorgeous jungle. 🪴Keep Growing 🌿
Plants I’ve struggled with before are now loving life in pon 🙌. I now have all of my anthuriums in pon, and about 90% of my plants are in pon. The vibrant color of the new el choco leaf makes my heart skip a beat 😂, it’s stunning! And 😱, I’m so excited to see the closed sinus leaf on the hybrid!!! Not all of the seedlings I have has that characteristic yet, so I’m so happy you got one of them that’s showing so fast. It’s so adorable 🥹💚

Can't wait to see it size up for you 👏🏼👌🏼I totally agree with you on pon...every struggling plant that I've transferred to pon is thriving. As for the Variegated Maranta, I reckon if you prop yours it'll pop out more variegation so that you won't need to buy another one 😆 They go for about 45AUD (28USD) here in Australia so the price is coming down now here thank goodness🙏🏼 You have such a beautiful collection and your love and care for your plants is definitely shining through. I always know when a plant is a tissue culture when it throws pups. My marble pink princesses grow soooooo many pups it’s kind of annoying. But if it actually grows those pups then they would be fun! I just sometimes rather put energy into the main plant to upsize instead of throwing it’s 20th pup lol (cause I swear my PP does this )

I should get my plants from orange lake nurseries tomorrow 10/30 I’m so excited our weather is starting to get really cold so I’m happy I’ll be getting them before it gets too cold thank goodness I went ahead and added heat packs
Thank you! good luck with your plants from them!! So happy with mine :) I don't have any plants in pon that have a moss pole but I would probably do it the same way I do with soil except fill the bottom with pon maybe and try to keep the moss moist. I would probably use a clear pole though!
I just got a philodendron el chaco red. She’s so small still. She was a wish list plant for me. The way yours looks is how I hope she looks one day! ❤️

Quick question ❓ the last plant you showed (Mican), the leaf was a little damaged, missing leaf piece... some of my plants have that to😮 is it from pests, grow light, or???? Do you have any idea why that happens 🤔
Mine was a recent import so some leaves probably have some mechanical damage that happened. It's hard to say exactly but sometimes pests and other factors in the care or environment can cause the plant to stress and grow wonky leaves.
Melissa I’m going to try mine in pon my leafs get stuck all the time and it gets a lot of humidity I don’t know what else to do for her I have 3 of her so I guess I can experiment 😊
My Maranta like yours is so small 2 inches. Its not really growing. I wonder if they go dormant at times . I've had it for like four or five months now

Check out Kevin @hakunalaplanta. He grows strictly semi hydro on moss poles and his plants are HUGE

definitely give it a go! some of the philos are so finicky with the slightest watering inconsistency

have you checked for flat mites? Mine stopped growing when they caught them.

Hi, usually once a week I am adding water. I don't keep the reservoir empty unless it accidentally goes dry :)
