While this Eva Kore was still alive I got to see one of her speeches at our high school. This woman’s story was captivating. The horrors she experienced and the way she told her story was absolutely fascinating. May she rest in peace.

I actually met Eva Korr back in 5th grade. She owned a museum in Terre Haute Indiana called Candles. You should definitely give it a visit if ever given the chance.

Many of these stories and accounts have been heavily embellished over time. As we grow older our memories of what once was changes a little bit year by year.. that's just the way it is. That doesn't mean he wasn't a cruel person but we cannot be sure of how cruel.

My understanding was that Mengele preferred to experiment on twins, especially identical twins, because their genes were similar enough that he could experiment on one twin and use the other as a control subject to better compare the results. It seems even that was granting this monster more logic than he deserved.
It was said he treated one of the two twins very well and the other was tortured in his experiments. In the end, both were killed so the bodies could be examined to see what effect, if any, the experiments produced.

Dr. Mengele was nothing but a serial killer. If only there was a head doctor there who genuinely loved biology and medicine that would have been more careful with their experimentations, we would have propelled medical science to even greater heights
We need to remember that these things took place. So it’s good in a sense that we don’t hide away from it. It is fascinating to know how evil a person can become.
I think during that era, in Germany, during that war, humanity at large showcased precisely, exactly how horrible it could be. This was the point where we were at the absolute, searing apex of the terrible things humans could do.
There is no condemnation for the past that can be put to fair and just words.
As a twin myself I find this truly disturbing and disgusting. Imagine being that much of a horrible person to throw away a baby, because it’s not a twin. Or the sewing together not working like I wonder why. Truly truly awful
