I love this trick but also love the addition of logic to the movement of the random card to the bottom! So many tutorials are like and then you count 10 cards and move them to the bottom and you’re like “Why?” this little attention to detail gets you to clean up the dirty work without looking dirty doing it. Great work Spidey 👍🏻 also love the shout out for Dai Vernon, a true master for anyone that wants to handle cards!
I was so blessed to spend an evening at the Magic Castle with Dai and his "crew" of friends in the early 80's! His coin work was outstanding! He and Mark Wilson evaluated me for membership into the castle!...at midnight! I was exhausted!!! It was a great show! They loved it! I remember watching several live performances of Harry Blackstone Jr. as a kid, and happy that one of my students was mentored by him before he passed away! "Magic...Pass it on!"
I love this trick and have used it several times. The only change I made was to place the 7 cards on top regardless. If they say they saw it, it's 4, 5, or 6. If not, it's 8, 9, or 10. That way, if someone happens to see the trick twice, it may be a different ending, and it's one less movement to make.
never even thought of this, thank you for writing this and glad I saw this before performing to anyone, I love cutting the fat off of performances and thought processes
Nice trick! I'm one of those people that wouldn't have accepted any of the first 6 cards but as you said, it doesn't matter; just start the trick from the beginning. Even I'd accept one of the cards sooner or later and would have been tricked. The real meat of this trick is in the reveal.
Please, no one do double undercut to control the card. It looks terrible, and to any beginner magician, it's so obvious that you're controlling a card. Just get the break and then overhand shuffle the 3 cards as a block to the bottom, and continue with a false overhand shuffle. There's no chance you get called out for doing this. You'll thank me later.
Hi Spidey, I checked this out the other week and loved it. I have changed it slightly and I wonder what you think? I was a bit uncomfortable with the card (if they had chosen one of the cut to bottom cards) being so close to the bottom of the deck so instead of using the pinch once I have cut to the bottom I then do a interlink cut (one that keeps bottom and top packs in the same position and as I do it I glimpse the bottom card and remember it (which is one of the 3 as I don’t place a random card at the bottom). They don’t see this card because as I cut the deck it is facing me. I then do a scissor cut placing the bottom pack into the middle of the deck leaving the top pack in position. All I need to do then is run through the pack and note when I pass what was the bottom card knowing that that and the 2 after are one of their choices. So once they confirm they have seen their card I just carry on the trick as you do. All this seems a bit convoluted but it’s not really and I just do it habitually now. The result being that their card is way in the middle of the deck when they see it which I feel makes it even more of a miracle when you produce it. Thanks for the trick. I love it and use it in my closeup a lot.
@@quebec269 instead of a double lift, i use the mechanics from a palm color change i saw on Chris Ramsey's channel using my palm to switch the positions of the first and second card. Works better for me because there's no messy cleanup from the double lift
@@christophernelson6360 but that's because they want money or to move countries so they only marry you for that reason. Anyone that has good intentions will be no different from other girls in other countries
I know a trick for ages that does pretty much the same...I used 9 cards and ask them to remember a card and put them back and then show them 3 cards once at a time and identify if they see their card, do this twice eventually their card will jump to the middle and you can show them that...that is their card. The difference is this guy find a way to use the whole deck to hide the card but I think if he ask them to identify their card twice, rather than once...then the trick does not need to be that sneaky.
I think it actually might be better if you don't try to be too sneaky about peaking at the cards as you take them at the end. The deck has been shuffled and "cut" multiple times now, and you honestly don't know what their card is. It would still be impressive if after just seeing a card or two you decided to stop there and got it right. Of course doing it without looking at all would be preferable, but not with the cost of trying to get a sneaky peek, which just looks suspicious and wouldn't be hard for a lot of people to notice.
And if it’s the top card in your hand you could put these 5 down on top and then let them turn it over. If it’s the fourth card I don’t have a more convincing idea than the double flip.
I think false shuffles, also pre memorised deck and he can count cards while picking one by one and he knew which card she stopped.False shuffles.Removing cards and stopping at that point.I can't say it is done in this manner, but it can be done in this manner as well.Another method.
An idea if you get the 5th card while performing instead of doing the double lift, is to put the packet on top of the deck so you have the spectators card in the second position and then you can tell the spectator that their card is not on the top and show them the top card, and place it somewhere else. Then you could do some sort of flashy reveal for good effect
The only thing is that they've already seen you look at the top couple cards at that point. Granted, they'll still have no idea how it actually got there and from their perspective it'd probably be equally as amazing, but maybe for some spectators that pay huge attention to detail or those people that are actively tryina guess what you're doing they might call you out on it. But that's still a pretty cool idea and I think there are probably ways to do something like that in a clean way :D
Shin, if you like this then you should watch the trick Derren Brown did for Stephen Fry (just TH-cam those names you'll get it). Without giving it away it uses similar techniques but it appears way more impossible than this...
Tip for everyone. If you end up with the scenario where you have to execute the double lift. You can clean up the trick with the KM move. I'm sure most people in here already knew this. Just wanted to share with those who are beginners

Seeing reveals makes it more tiring, by knowing how much time any professionals have to practice to make what they're doing seem flawless.
Teller has said that much of magic is just spending more time doing something than most people would find reasonable.

Chloe was looking at Spidey pick up cards 1 through 5 but because she picked the last card, the effect becomes so much better.
It’s better to look nervous when you flip over the card at the ending :)
That is a cool trick and I really appreciate the smoothness and style when he did the trick. Thanks for sharing.
This is a very good impromptu trick. Thanks to all for teaching it.
Always enjoy Spidey he is energized full time❣️
I was there during the filming! Great reactions!

I love this trick, and it doesn't seem that difficult to do for us beginners lol!
But the double lift can be tricky

Hi Shin! I’m so excited to finally see your show in Vegas on Friday July 2, 2021! I can’t wait!
Shin looks happy always :)
I just learned this before you posted this! It's so fooling!
you do the best magic, Shin

Hey Shin,
I found your channel after watching some TH-cam. Your soooo good! I am inspired by you! Keep it up!
If it’s the card under the pinky break you could also do an impromptu color change of your choice instead of the double lift.
Omg i love your Tricks Shin they are sooooo nice i just love them
FINALLY! It was the trick that Matthew Furman does and i really want it badly. Thank you for this. Love from the Philippines!
Shin your the greatest magician ever!
I like card tricks without a slight of hand. All set up cards n the math will do it for you. Anyone not a magician can do.
Nice math practice for sure. Loved it..

in order for this trick to work, you have to be able to learn how to "fake shuffle" the deck, that way it makes it look more believable
Hey Shin, could you please tell me where you get your music from? I love most of your picks, they're lovely.
Good trick. I like it. I am so glad you won at AGT.
I was definitely thinking the psychological force of 7 principle but I was stuck in that one!
I'm french and I'm a little magician and i think I understand the trick. Thank you Spideys, Shin Lim! Sorry for my English

if it's the card on the deck you should let them turn over themselves for epic effect so that they would feel the power of making it themselves.
And if it’s the top card in your hand you could put these 5 down on top and then let them turn it over. If it’s the fourth card I don’t have a more convincing idea than the double flip.
