I have to be honest I nearly passed on this one , never built a car mode but I watched and very much enjoyed the presentation. So much so I’ve ordered one for myself. The dark side here I come.
Aircraft modeller of almost fifty years here. Never built a car until my neighbour asked me to have a go at the Italeri Escort RS 1800 he'd bought for his petrol head girlfriend (she's got a real one!) Enjoyed it so much I decided to have a go at a car for myself. This one to be exact! Informative video which helps me to feel a little less intimidated! Thanks for the upload 👍
Great finish on the paint. Did you clear coat with TS13 over the decals straight out of the can? I've heard some horror stories about TS13 eating through decals.
If you’re completely new to model cars I’d say have a look at the Airfix starter sets. If however you just want to give this one a go, I don’t see why not. I’d recommend buying Tamiyas grey primer spray and Tamiyas TS-13 spray and you’ll still achieve a good finish. To help paint the smaller parts, I’d stay away from Tamiya acrylics are they’re not great at brush painting, if you can, look for Vallejo, Mig or AK paints. Hope this helps you.

Ahhh Michael that’s great to hear. Glad I could alleviate some fears. Thanks for watching!

Thank you The best model kit manufacturer in my opinion!
Fantastic build!
Thank you!

Did you do any thinning on those Tamiya paints?
Would this be a good model for a beginner?
