    • @ZiggysDesk
      @ZiggysDesk  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! What brand kit is that Jordan? The front wing came in 1 piece (minus the end plates) I painted it black, then masked and painted white, then painted and attached the end plates.

    Thinking about starting model car building what do you recommend as a first build I live a bit far from the nearest hobby shop but I think I wanna start with a supra but don't have enough yet so your recommendations are very helpful
    Edit I was talking about the cheapest supra

    • @MrMcKane
      @MrMcKane 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd suggest with something like a Tamiya road car from the 1990's like a Mk 4 Supra or Nissan 300ZX, something cheap and not too many parts.
      Or a Revell kit, they have a difficulty grade scale on the box from 1 to 5.
      Then get a basic set of paints, brushes and other materials and practice your skills and techniques as you go along, it also doesn't harm watching videos such as this to get ideas.

      Your Patience.

      One thing too, dont expect perfection out of your very first model. Every kit after, pick one thing to improve on and you will see much more progress. It can be discouraging when youre new and make frequent mistakes, but just learn from them. Also, acrylics are much easier to work with than enamels.

    Hey. Can I ask a quick Q? How are you gluing these parts together, is it just the Tamiya Cement. I only ask becuase I’ve been using the extra thin cement and it mostly seems to detroy my paint work 😑😑 thanks. Great work btw!

    • @ZiggysDesk
      @ZiggysDesk  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Antony, tamiya cement is only for non-painted surfaces (it bonds plastic together). Everything else for assembly and other bits I use CA glue (BSI is the brand I have).

    Thanks in advance and congratulations on your brilliant work.

    • @ZiggysDesk
      @ZiggysDesk  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries, it’s the thinnerline circle cutter, used to be available on amazon but last time I checked it was gone. You can find another brand “DSPIAE” circle cutter it’s almost exactly the same, on eBay. Tips on airbrushing.. hmm check out some airbrush tutorial videos, but I think you’ll learn over time the more you paint. Go light on your coats, lots of thin coats will get a nice looking result, lots of sanding between plastic to primer to paint. Sometimes even sanding between paint coats if you messed up or got some dust in there to smooth everything back down.

    Hello sir
    Congratulations on your absolutely stunning work as a model maker. your work is literally mesmerizing. I have watched some videos over 20 times and I never get tired of them. I even undertook to assemble the Tyrrell Yamaha 023 while being as close as possible to the way in which you work. But can I ask you 2 questions. Having bought the photoetched detailing product I will be required to glue metal parts on plastic (especially the fins) which glue should I use, in your opinion for an effective and solid result? Finally having invested in an airbrush and using Zeropaints and Mr Color paints without too much difficulty, I was wondering what the precise steps were at the level of the layers and above all I must wait for the paint to really dry between each layer or then I can follow one another the layers in the same unit of time except maybe the very last one called wet, I believe. Thank you very much for your answers. And again, congratulations for the incredible dexterity you show. Best regards. Dominica
