Clouds are so often overlooked in games, it’s no longer acceptable to have a 2D skybox. Think back to RDR2 when you went on that hot air balloon ride and how amazing it was to witness the volumetric cloud system on full display.

Star Citizen is a technical marvel. I really can't believe what i am seeing sometimes. Like standing on a space station outside a planet, i can actually see a big city on the planet itself and ships taking off. Even on planetside you can see ships incoming. There is no "skybox" like in most games, they have created everything from the ground up.

It's the name for the whole tool series they introduce with planettech V5, like starcetect, new shadering, new landscape creation and destrebution etc.
      and second
For dynamic wather you need dynamic clouds, wich we don't have in the curent system.
And as far as we know only Genesis is able to simulate the clouds like this.

Looks like the planet moves but not the clouds. In the first shot you see the movement of the stars in the background align with the movement of the clouds. Looks like the camera/ship moves with the planet rotation. Am i wrong?

      yes you are correct xD
It's really weird, the noise of the clouds or how you'd call it rotates with the planet, but the clouds themselves don't really which can create this really weird effect if not in the gravity well

They are moving slower than the planet's rotation... You can see also Cumulus going against the Flow... it's DOPE...
