      @@boeve16 yea for sure, i have some content of bloom, but it was pretty dark and my ship was a bit bugged, so i stopped exploring. Hope next time i can go to all the planets and moons.

      A jump in first-person mode where you get ejected out of the wormhole
      Is it possible to jump out of your ship while traversing through a wormhole?
      If so, is it also possible to bed log in a wormhole?

    I have said this before, but will say it again: the sound design team has been doing an absolutely mind-boggling work lately. All these VFX wouldn't feel the same without that sound FX. It's insane...

      yea that was my first jump in one of the other builds. I could not give any input to the ship and was slingshot trough the astroids, debris and station in pyro. I must say it was a ride of emotions :D

    THANK YOU for flying with mouse, so we can actually see how much steering is going on! Every streaming I've watched was flying with a stick and I couldn't see how much input was actually needed.

      Correct me if I'm wrong but i don't think you so much aim with the mouse at the direction you're going, it's just looking. when playing with mouse and keyboard, jumping becomes a 2 dimensional strafe and forward and backward is neutralized. You're riding the current in the wormhole and you go up and down instead, and use the keys to remain in the middle or avoid fistules within the wormhole.

      @@CosmicDI don't think you need to straife, or even accelerate with flying with stick either. Stick vs mouse is just a different way to direct pitch and yaw. I don't think roll is needed, but you could if you wanted to. I was mostly unsure how MUCH pitch and ya was needed to keep in the tunnel.

      sry to correct you, i also was flying with sticks, but i have the steering direction assistant active and use decoupled, so you can see my relative movement of the ship based on my input corrections.

      @@albinobluesheep i didnt need to accelerate and i was not able to slow down. But all other inputs work, also in combination with boost. You get some sort of input override, but still need to correct those with the line you want to go for. Like you can see the first minute, i had trouble to adept for the loss of full control and overcorrected in some parts.

      thank you, i was lucky there and bedlogged right to the gate, so my run was only with 2 other ships within my radius. For the first 2 tests i was running vulkan, and that also destryed my performance, for this one i used dx11 and it run super smooth.

      thanks, I appreciate it! Iam a bit confused about they way the used some of the footage because in my experiance the testing of jumping did improved big times from first to last test. I dont know why they showed stuttering and low fps stuff all over the place instead of showing the progress already archived.

    I've never liked the mini-game idea from the very beggining, it would be better if we just watch the visual effects as we go and never liked the jump-point visuals.
    It looks like we are moving down in someones throat :D
    But I know that the game never gonna satisfy every player in some areas so kudos the team for finally completing the miles stone, very excited for Pyro and beyond!

      i was pretty sad after testing the first 2 builds, and didnt had my hopes up after failing every jump because of some bugs and server issues. But this time was actually magical and from what i heared of the test, it run down pretty damn good for a lot of us. There were only some issues with the hailing for landing and starting requests, but this is an old issue that comes on goes with server performance.

      ​awh man thats good news, if only they would rent more server power, I think we had four build going on at once this weekend including the hot fix build it's kinda understandable that the login servers kept dying and 30ks galore this weekend

      Thank you very much, i almost didnt want to join the test again after many failed attempts in the last builds. It actually ruined my experience pretty much, but they seem to found out the biggest issues now, so hopefully more footage to come 😉

      lets hope they keep that momentum and sort out the big issues asap. I was pretty damn surprised how good my experiance was this time compared to the 3 tests before. I hope it was not pure luck :D

    I still can't believe they ditched the jump gate ring structure. That looked so epic and badass from afar. The tiny blue puff of smoke doesn't really do anything for me lol. And I couldn't care less about the lore or whatever like if some had the ring and some don't. It's just a rule of cool thing for me and it feels like a real missed opportunity.

      Feel the same...i get the point why they wanted them to be structure free, but a small addition into the lore had done the trick too " structure keeps the gate open all the time" done...

    I think it's time to admit I was wrong. I spent years shitting on CIG and Roberts for doing nothing but fleecing people. But this is looking pretty slick and actually feels like a game

      Its hard to defend CIG sometimes, but atleast they deliver even when always late. But they did so much stuff already a lot of people never believed will be possible. Its a rollercoaster of emotions 😂

    They need to add some sort of collapse animation, I initially thought the tunnel was already opened then it suddenly vanished for you to reopen.
    Completely breaks the immersion of it being some massively high energy event.

      yea it gets me everytime, when i see the gate beeing open but i cant join the the jump that is in progress. I would like to have it open for longer, so if a new group is right there to also jump, it should not close at all. But you are right, i case nobody is using it, it should collapse with a bigger bang than what currently is in there.

    In such a long time, with such a large amount of money, the second part should have appeared already. We saw a nicely designed but not too complicated loading screen in the video. It may never get done, but viewers are happy.

      It's not a loading screen. Both systems are on the same megamap with their coordinates that you can see moving with your r_displayinfo

      Starcitizen doesnt have loading screens or instances...... you are traveling that distance but faster, so it still takes time.

      @@Martin-sx4bx As you say, this is an unnecessary waste of resources. Something is bound to happen. Why does it take time to move in a virtual space? There's nothing wrong with that, because it's a nice and cozy way to travel. But why does it take 3 minutes? Waste of time stolen from players with no real content. It's nice at first, and I like it that way based on the video, but when you watch it 256 times, you'll want to go to hell. But I think it will never enter the game in this form. If you haven't succeeded in 12 years, what are the chances? For 10-20 euros you can already buy great toys that are ready and working. Anyway, the point of the game is to have fun. That was lost somewhere a long time ago.

      @@josekiss4610 This is gameplay though. You are steering the ship and it's not the easiest thing in the world to do. If you want to go to another system you are going to need at least a little bit of skill. If you can't do it yourself you catch a ride with someone who can. What's wrong with that?

      i dont agree, while a pilot needs to do the jump. the crew can do their stuff onboard without any interruption. This alone is a big thing. Imagine you see a damn loading screen while doing your stuff.

    What would be really cool for the explorers out therewould be for there to be random wormholes that appear like less stable versions of these to pop up and they can take you to certain places with or without pve combat with dungeons or even lost ships with data that can be extracted and sold/ you would have to scan down these anamolies and the holes would be unstable making them harder to traverse

      But that would be where the challenge would come in so a really good explorer could do really hard wormholes and make a lot more money doing the best explo sites

      the talked and showed something like this in the first jump videos back then. Right now the plan is to have random jumppoints appear in the verse besides the "stable" ones like this one. The random ones will have size and time limitations. But yea i like the idea to also have anomalies inside the jumps too.

    Super sick, I got Freelancer feels from this, especially when coming out the other end into Pyro. What PC specs you running? Not upgrading to new PC until just before SQ42 comes out but gathering info on what people are running for 4.0 at the moment. Cheers o7

      o7 yea when it finally worked for me it was amazing to see the transition the first time.
      Iam running a amd 5800x3d and a rtx 4080super right now. So its pretty neat but still room for improvement on the cpu, mainboard and ram side. Iam trying to delay the upgrade as long as possible for exactly the same reason. The 4080 Super only landed in my system because of a good deal, otherwise i kept my 3080 until the next gen drops. Now i hope the new cards are not that big of a difference xD

      @@TRONRINZLER yesterday i upgrade to 64gb because it seems they bumped up the memory usage a lot since the release of 3.24.2. but i have the feeling, that i had more issues now with some microstutters. need to test further. EDIT: i had 32gb dual channel before, now i have 4 sticks of the same type, but iam not sure if my board even supports real quad channel

      Thanks made! I think because i understand encoding and decoding better and have the hardware to capture almost lossless footage. It also helps that iam not a Strearmer, so i dont care about limiting my bitrate. :)

    If you hit the pillars, do you take damage or is it just instant death?

      You get some distortion dmg and the push you to the outer tunnel. Its not that bad, so you can touch a few without any issue, but if you touch the outer tunnel, you will end up in either stanton or pyros outer rings and need to navigate via qt drive to the next location. Later this will also hurt you ship, but not destroy it.

    what happens if it closes while ur inside it?

      if you are on your run, it does not matter since you already are in the flow. The Point will close after the last ship of the party / group enters.

      The pillars are not that bad yet, you get pushed a bit and a little bit of distortion dmg. The outer shell in the other hand will spit you out in one of the two systems if you touch it too long

      This is a uee station for the jump point. Its the last point of civil forces with protection. After that you will be laweless and find the big stations from the last test like checkmate station etc..

      @@clan-aegis-france more the opposite, the big stations are located around the planets and there are also smaller ones around places like micl1. This one is similar to the gatestation

      Yea it was still off from the last test....last time it went crazy and didnt stop with high pitching glitching sounds.

    I hate the little particle explosion effect it does when you open them, too much imo. Just have a nice small event horizon open to the overall bubble effect.

      more important, this was running with dx11 instead of vulkan. Last test vulkan made my pc burn in tickel it down to 3 fps while trying to jump.
      I am running a AMD 5800x3d with a rtx 4080 super and 64gb ram. I ran this in 4k DLSS High, with High to Medium Quality Settings (I dont see any differeces with higher settings to this point except for clouds and water)

      @do_minguez Dang, that's a beast of a machine. I never realized that Vulkan was causing so many issues atm. I can't wait for them to optimize that. I was looking at a 4080 (non-super), 32 gb ram, an Intel 49 something F (trying to avoid the 13th & 14th gen intel for now). You're making me want to jump to 64 gb and maybe wait till the 5000 tries or get the super/4090. Your videos look great

    I understand it may be your first successful jump so you don't yet know all mechanics at play, but man... I have so many questions I'm looking for an answer to as soon as possible 😅
    Are you completely vulnerable preparing for the jump? If no stargate weapons in place (like with Eve), I'd see a lot of fighting/ganking right about you prepare for the jump.
    Do you have to steer the ship through the tunnel? What happens if you fail to do so and you hit the tunnel wall? Do you drop to system space? If so, would it be the same place your jump originated from? I see the tunnel changes color at some point, from the source system color (blue in this case for Stanton) to orange for the destination system (Pyro here). I'd be curious if you intentionally crash after the color changes, you drop to the destination system still? You're basically changing server instances so the switch still happened.
    Can you see other ships jumping at the same time? Can you interact with them in any way? Maybe the weapons are not accessible/active, but you could still bump into someone.

      while preparing you need to enter NAV mode, so yes your weapons and shields are down in this state. The Jumpgate points will have protection in form of military turrets and patroling npc ships, but at this state of the game, this means almost nothing -.- The Exit points are a bit better concepted, because you will exit wider area with different exit points that are random. So you could be ganked by a large group, that holds the whole area, but some individuals cant predict where ships come trough.
      Yes you need to manually steer the ships, the only axis that are locked are forward/backwards.If you hit the outside ring or hit too many pillars, you get sling out of the jump into a position in one of the two systems outer rings and get some dmg. Yes you can intentionally crash to avoid any contacts with a big group that is locking down the exit area.
      Yes you can jump in groups that will currently be determind by some sort of automatic matchmaking. The group jumps together and gets sucked in one after another with a fixed distance. You can see ships infront and behind you, but you cant overtake someone except them crashing out of the jump.

      It actually rund way better now even on a normal rig. The 3D Cache CPUs from AMD do wonders with this game. But sure on the GPU Side i would not try to run it without atleast a RTX 3070

Something like an onboard comute unit that will have big benefits in jumping but downsides on other things like defense, power or something like this.

      Yes, but not all of them. I believe the eventual intent is for them to damage your stability the same way bouncing off the wall does/will. Not sure how much of that is implemented.

      i think it scales off the size of the biggest ship in the group that jumps. In this run i was solo or 2 zeus behind me. Will try a run with the reclaimer next time.

      I think a major factor with the jump time is that they need to allow enough time for the destination system to load in (like Stanton loads in when you first load into the game). Maybe some jump points will be shorter, though.

      I read somewhere that the size of the actual wormhole will vary depending on the size of the ships trying to enter it. Also, bigger ships should experience less turbulence, meaning you'll have more control over it.

      iam pretty sure this is not the final state yet and more of a proof of concept. I didnt expect them to come this far, when compared to the earlier tests this year without any animation. I look at it the same as the QT animations, that changed over time and will get an overhaul soon too.

    While it does both look and sound good, I think it takes entirely way too long. It's totally unengaging gameplay, cut the time in half, or more and it would be much better.
    If missions have you going between multiple systems, I would hate having to spend upwards of 4-5 minutes per jump.

      this is the first integration and i assume they will optimise the whole experiance by quite a margin. Also keep in mind, that you want to keep the people engaged with upgrading stuff in the futur. Its the same approach the took with QT Travel time. It took too long, so they shortened it for the time beeing, but later on you want components, that are better / worse for QT Time and QT Fuel consumption. The same will happen with Jumpdrives. Better Equipment means less time, but perhaps wilder travel anomalies and so on...

The Jumps were pretty rough in the tests, it was my first time actually jumping and not seeing a diashow of my ship getting turned 180 degrees and spit out. The pillars are not that big of a threat, instead you need to avoid touching the outer ring at all cost.

    It’s really lame how Evocati has had all the streamers added in the last 4-5mths. Firstly none of them contributed enough to earn it, unlike OG’s like Bored or SaltEMike for example who were in there on merit. Secondly it was then unsurprisingly accompanied by this weird ‘under NDA but you can stream it and advertise to the player base for us’ crap, as a bone to throw the community still waiting on Pyro at the back end of 2024.

      @ Evocati were chosen because of contributions to prior test cycles. Quality of their IC submissions, active test time etc etc. You’re telling me suddenly a bunch of content creators all getting added and bypassing that test quality control is for anything other than so you can all push out content for them as free advertising? Yeah right, and this isn’t a comment about you, I have no idea whether you test properly or not, but I’m damn sure the majority like Berks are just about streaming it for money and not actually testing. Just like the old PTU was before they moved to waves, it was early access to play not being used for testing.

      Time intensive ok, iam with you, but what does gameplay add to gameplay is a strange question. Ask Starfield players how they feel about the loading screens and how this breaks the game immersion. Jumping between systems is not a hourly task in this game and should be a big thing. Why should they not make it cool looking and a bit of a challange?

      Yes the tunnel was build in a short time, its the first version of the concept they aim for.
