So helpful, I hadn't realised for my now 5 year old that we did it for her so often until school said she needed to do it independently. She really struggled but this is such a great way to build up her skills. Thank you
These are great ideas. Ive been in the process of trying but have no idea how to get started. If anything my little one wants to learn how to put on shoes before socks lol
Yay, I'm glad the video was helpful and can at least give you an idea on how to get started. You got this! I also have another video on just dressing in general that might be helpful (although it doesn't address shoes), here's the link: th-cam.com/video/BNjqaJfkjrA/w-d-xo.html And I should do a video about putting on shoes! Thanks for the idea :)
This is very helpful! Thank you for the detailed explanation. Question though, what is the expected timeline to move to the next step of the process? When they understand how to pull up the sock? Or is it when they can complete the previous step with little or no instruction? I just want to set some realistic expectations (for myself!) for my kid learning this.
Hey Carrie! Thanks for the question. I wish I could give you a concrete timeline, but it really varies by the kid and where they are in their cognitive + physical development. Some youngsters pick it up super fast (within weeks), others take some extra time, especially if they're under 3 years old and don't have other foundational skills in place. If you're working with a 3-year-old who is completely new to the process, expect them to take at least several months of consistent daily practice to really get the hang of it (although, realistically, they will still need your help for a while to adjust the sock and put it on perfectly - socks are tricky! Many kids "master" socks around 4-5 years of age). I hope this was helpful! I wish I could give you more concrete timelines, it's just it varies so dramatically depending on the kid!

That is amazing she said she wanted to do it on her own, wow! Glad the video was helpful, let me know if you have any other questions! -Dana

This one is about teaching your little one to get dressed^
Please make a video of how to take off a sock, I am stuck wearing socks
Will do!
Can I train a 3 years child on putting socks on ?
Hi Fayezah! You sure can! Have them start by learning how to take their socks off first, that's a bit easier :)
No
