Hi. Is Dry Coat Rust Preventative a good product to undercoat a new vehicle to protect and prevent rust? Would it protect from a harsh New England winter. If so could you explain how to apply it properly to the undercarriage. If not what is the best product or service for undercoating a vehicle. I looked up several services Krown, Ziebart, Corrision Free, WoolWax & Fluid Film. The reviews were horrible for Ziebart, Krown not so great, Corrisiion free so-so, and the others seemed o.k. I bought Cry Coat Rust Preventative to spray on the rotors as i seen some videos from car detailing guys saying it is great for that. Now i need to know the safest best product or service for undercoating a vehicle and how long it would last in a harsh New England winter with all the elements. Thank You
I went in halfords with my fiesta and they was confused to my shade of red because under the bonnet it just simply said red, they said take it to the ford dealer and they will type your reg plate in and will tell you the colour so I did and they did even ordered it for the next morning
Well, as you'll see in the vid, not all the corrosion is removed from the metal. 'Pitted' areas are left in the panel. Fibreglass paste is not a magic cure all for severe corrosion like this. It's intended to bridge holes on clean metal. nowhere in this vid does it mention about cleaning off the rear of the panel, in the demonstration , paste is applied directly on top of all the dirt and rust behind the arch. I'll give this repair a maximum of one week before it starts to bubble up again.
lol ya ive got one to just in the process of restoring it now forget fillin and patchin up just cut it all out and replace panels or it will be back within a year :)
i need to do that to my 94 honda, but its so rusted out that there is no metal left where the holes are, all of the metal is turning to dirt, i guess my car has cancer!
NO! NOT GOOD VID !! See my previous post. Do not follow this advice to repair ANY panel. You'll be repairing rust damage again in three, four months tops !!
